Waited for about 5 minutes, a very kind Border Patrol Officer asked me questions like my full name, date of birth, US address I intend to live, my USC fiancés info, and if I have more than $10,000 with me.. I said no, and I said “ I wish I have $10,000”.. that made him laugh 😂 Then he told me that he will endorse me for K1 processing, and if I have any questions now is the time.. I asked him “ how do I reach my airplane ?” He laughed again and gave me instructions .. he then said welcome to the United States.. he walked me through a room where they gave me my medical papers, and then welcomed me into the US again. It was basically another painless experience 😊

I entered port of entry after arriving in Dallas. The officer looked at my passport and k1 visa packet. He didn’t ask any questions. Didn’t ask for x-Ray. It went fast. Not more than 5-10 minutes I would say.

(K1)

Very helpful officer, arrived fairly early morning, only a queue of a couple of people or so. My fiance was in the line behind me and the officer asked to see her to. Spoke to us professionally and courteously.

When I arrived around 2pm it was quite busy. I totally forgot that most students with their F-1 visa were coming back or starting school very soon, so I was stuck in line for over an hour. I'm pretty sure I was the only K-1 visa holder too.

Finally my turn, I got to speak to the first officer and handed him my K-1 visa package. He was very friendly and chatty. I asked him if it's always that busy and he was laughing. Apparently this was nothing compared to other days. He took my fingerprints and picture, he also asked me about was our timeline and how long everything took to be processed while walking me to a separate room for processing after that. After saying friendly goodbyes with the officer, I took a seat and was told to wait till they call my name. There were a few more people waiting but it didn't worry me. I was prepared for a longer wait. Not even 10 minutes later, my name was called. The officer gave me my passport and said "You got 90 days to get married." and I was like "Is that it?" and he just nodded and pointed to the exit.

Pretty easy peasy, if you'd ask me. X3

When I arrived the “other visas“ line was pretty much empty (2 people ahead of me), so I saw the first officer within 5 minutes. I asked which visa I’m coming in on, and when I replied it was a K1 he asked for the visa package which I handed to him. He did not want the x-rays which I had in a separate sealed envelope.
He took my fingerprints and picture and then explained that he will take me to a separate room for further processing. I told me to take a seat and was it until my name was called. When I got to the room there were only 2 other people there, one was waiting like me and the other one was being chewed out by a immigration officer. For the next couple of minutes I sat there listening to that officer telling the guy “you wasted my time and that of my officers... no you don’t get to talk... it is clear from these messages on your phone that you are trying to commit fraud and that you can’t to work here... You want to play games? No I said you don’t say a thing...” and so on. Then he took him to a different room.
I have to say witnessing that did nothing to calm my nerves.
I then noticed the no cell phone signs so I turned mine off and continued waiting. I was pretty nervous and feeling a bit nauseous from the combination of nerves overtiredness, excitement and airplane food. (Thoughts like “ if I throw up now will they let me in? Or will they Quadranten me?” Went through my head)
The room was filling up and I could see the officers reviewing paperwork and information on computers through the window but no name was called for 40 minutes. Then they finally called my name. I nervously gathered my things and took a der breath mentally preparing myself for any questions. When I got to the window, the guy handed me my passport and said “90 days”
I asked “that’s it?”
He said yes and pointed to the door I was to exit through.
And that was it.
Kind of anti climactic. I think if I wouldn’t have witnessed the scene of them accusing that first guy it would have been a pretty relaxed waiting time and process. And even though I would have appreciated a full sentence I’m glad it was no hassle or the same questions for the umptienth time.
