Update on my husbands visa interview...I want EVERYONE to know before you go to the embassy they are going to ask ur husband to get a family registration certificate...Its to prove he doesnt have another wife...Make sure you have this. Or you will not get approved until they have it....They did this to my husband...She took his passport after the interview then told him you mail in this paper you will know in 2 weeks if ur approved or not...We did as she asked and Monday my husband was issued his visa fast...My husband picked it up yesterday at Aramex....Just save yourself this aggravation and get this proof that ur husband doesnt have another wife its illegal in our country...They do this to protect you because so many men who are Muslim have lied and are already married... Yes its bullshit they need to post this on their website that they need this document but they dont...Its not right to do to people because this process is so complex and its a disappointment to not get approved..... read complete review

I attended with my husband. First Egyptian woman took original copies of his papers, passport and pics. I looked at our file in front of her and saw a stamp with large word saying APPROVED. After 30 minutes we were called into another room where a young serious America woman asked us questions. How did you meet? How many times had I traveled to Egypt? What did I do for a living and what did my husband do for a living? Did my family attend our wedding and why? Then she asked me if she could speak to my husband alone and I went back to the waiting room. She asked him what he didn't like about me. Who I was the closest to in his family and had he been married before. My husband and I are both on our 40s and he has never been married and maybe she didn't believe this coz she told him everything was good but she needed him to send her a family report before she will issue his visa. We have now and it states I am his only wife and there were no others and will send by aramex. S... read complete review

here is a summary of things that went on with my case until approval. I'm a CR1 with CC: Dec 1st 2015 and interview date May 22,2016
Things my wife had before going to the interview:
1)Her Passport and 2 copies of it
2)passport Pics (5x5) she took 10 of them
3)my US citizen passport copies of all pages
4)2013,2014,2015 income tax
5)medical exam envelope sealed
6) 30 pictures of our wedding and honey moon
7)Original Marriage certificate and 2 copies of it with translations
8)Original birth certificate and 2 copies of it with translations
9)Original Finger Print report and 2 copies of it with translations
10) Aramex paper
11) Packet 4 interview appointment letter
she got to the consulate at 7 am and her appointment was at 7:30 and noticed a huge line. Security came around at 7:30 and ensured that everyone had the correct papers on them(Many people were kicked out of the line to retake their passp... read complete review

Just was approved by US Embassy for K 1 SAME SEX fiance visa...of course I was worried about the procedure because of the homophobic society....i.e. in a small space with Egyptians ....but since they are attempting to come to the US...one would hope and expect these Egyptians to be accepting...if not, they are going to have problems in the US
anyway....our interview was for 8:30 but did't get into the building until after 10:00...which didn't seem to bother anyone...once inside waited for our assigned number to be called...about an hour wait...my Egyptian partner had all the docs.
his women interviewer spoke Arabic...all went well...I was ignored....told to retake our seats and wait for his name to be called ...another hour wait...finally his name was called and went to a different window away from the main room to a small private room with a door....a young women was behind the window...she spoke Arabic to my partner...which of course I didn't understand....she... read complete review

My husband had his interview today. The CO interviewed him he answered every question it was very short...She wasn't very friendly but after the interview she said, I just need a paper from you showing your sisters and mother she wanted proof he has family in Egypt and who they are...He then answered ok I can get this proof for you but what should I tell my wife? She said as of right now no you are not approved she told him get this paper to me as soon as you can she said send it through Aramex then you will know in 2 weeks. She did keep his passport... Has anyone had this experience before??? He showed many pics of me with his family... Why are they asking my husband for proof of his family?
