Just was approved by US Embassy for K 1 SAME SEX fiance visa...of course I was worried about the procedure because of the homophobic society....i.e. in a small space with Egyptians ....but since they are attempting to come to the US...one would hope and expect these Egyptians to be accepting...if not, they are going to have problems in the US
anyway....our interview was for 8:30 but did't get into the building until after 10:00...which didn't seem to bother anyone...once inside waited for our assigned number to be called...about an hour wait...my Egyptian partner had all the docs.
his women interviewer spoke Arabic...all went well...I was ignored....told to retake our seats and wait for his name to be called ...another hour wait...finally his name was called and went to a different window away from the main room to a small private room with a door....a young women was behind the window...she spoke Arabic to my partner...which of course I didn't understand....she was going through the docs ...and then turned to me to ask us how we met....I told her
and then she said...you guys are approved....we embraced .....I could see that she was very happy for us..she asked me what type of ceremony we would have...
etc...I told her that I appreciated a private room and she replied , that it was built for this type of interview !!! I am happy to see my tax dollar finally being used for a good purpose !! she could not have been more pleasant...we were prepared to answer all sorts of questions..none were asked...we were out around 2;30 !!!
