I arrived at the Consulate at 6:50am for my 7:30am interview. I waited outside, and chatted with a group of ladies until they opened the door at 7:30. I realized immediately that your interview time means nothing. It's all about the order you are lined up outside. They let one person at a time into the building and you're given a number. That number is the order you're called in for everything. My interview was for 7:30, but there was a girl standing in front of me and her interview was for 8:30 so she got to go in first. I was number 6.
Once inside, you give them your Passport and your proof of fee payment email printout. You're given a laminated sheet with a number on it, and instructions for which order to arrange your paperwork. You put all your belongings into a container on a conveyor belt, and you walk through a scanner (just like at the airport.) No backpacks allowed inside. They completely went through my purse and took out my keys, cell phone, work badge and I... read complete review

Very good experience over all!
Total time at Consulate: 2.5 hrs, interview: less than 5 mins!!
(Consulate enterance on narrow side street, helpful to do “dry run†see it before your interview time, so you know where it is. Go EARLY as there’s a lineup outside to get in, through front door security.)
—Nerve wracking. I was very well prepared with paperwork, what to expect & potential questions might be asked in interview (REALLY helps to do your research & remember... BREATHE.)
—High security to get into interview area, I found to be an interesting experience; only take what you ABSOLUTELY need, so much easier to flow through this slow process.
—LONG WAIT right before interview. (1st they’ll request specific order for your documents, will take your biometrics there, then you sit & wait for your name call for actual interview)
—VERY HARD TO HEAR when your name is called, not very loud/clear ... read complete review

I went with Christopher to the interview. We arrived at around 7:45 with our appointment being at 8:30, there was already a line waiting to get in and we 7th in line. The doors opened at 8 am. They allowed us in a few at a time, we were given numbers and information, passed through a security check (they will hold your electronics for you, if you do bring them, they are not allowed inside). We followed the instructions given to us and went up an elevator and came to a waiting room. After about 10 minutes, our number was called and Chris went to a window.
We had already put our paperwork in the requested order (we brought ALL paperwork that they had asked for from any communication they sent us), but they didn't need the majority of what we brought with us. The person Chris saw made sure all the paperwork was in order, had him sign some papers, took his fingerprints, and told Chris to have a seat. We waited nervously about 15-20 minutes until he was called to a second win... read complete review

The interview process went well in Montreal, Canada. I completed mine on March 16, 2018. I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott down the street (all the other hotels were booked up because it was the end of Canadian Spring Break). I walked from the hotel in freezing weather, got breakfast at the Tim Horton's up the street from the embassy, and then arrived around 7:45am at the doors.
There was a short lineup to go through the scanners. You must leave your cell phone at the entrance. I had a large 'zippered' binder with all my docs ... good choice with the windy, cold weather. And then I made my way up the elevator and waited till about 8:45 in the lounge when I was called to doublecheck I had all the correct paperwork.
I then waited about 1.5hrs to be called for the formal interview (I was one of the last in my group). The interview lasted max. about 10min and the lady was very kind. She then said I was good to go and I left the building. Five day... read complete review

I had my interview at the Consulate in Montreal this morning. My interview time was 9:00 am. I arrived at 8:30 and was asked if I wouldn’t mind waiting 15 minutes outside. I was summoned inside 10 mins later and gave my passport to the person at the entrance. She gave me a laminated form with a number and instructions on what documents to gather and how to order them. I was then told to go through security. After security, I was told to walk downstairs and take the elevator to the 19th floor. Once there, I had a seat and waited to be called. A gentleman came out of a back room and went to each person in order of their numbers to check them in.
I was called up to the first window about 30 mins later and I was asked for the documents in exactly the same order as the form indicated. I was asked for fingerprints from both hands and I was told to sit back down and wait to be called again.
About 30 mins later I was called to another window for the actua... read complete review
