We arrived outside the Consulate about half an hour before opening and we were amongst some of the first in. They opened the doors promptly at their posted opening hours (so if it's raining/cold/hot, dress appropriately for waiting outside!). Once inside we went through the security area, metal detectors, and had to leave our cell phones with security (received a little "claim check" type tag to claim them on our way out).
We took the elevator up and waited in line for our initial number. At the first window they looked over our documents just to make sure that we had brought what we needed. We sat down to wait... and wait.... It's been a couple of years since my interview, so I don't remember the details of what/if anything happened between then and the actual interview (other than the fire alarm going off and us all being ushered down 19 flights of stairs!).
The interview itself was quick and painless. My husband came in with me and she just asked us a few questions l... read complete review

Well first off, what a relief that it's over, and we were APPROVED! We drove to Montreal from Michigan on Sunday and stayed at the Le Square Phillip Hotel right around the block from the embassy. We walked to it Sunday evening so we would know exactly where we were going. Stopped at Timmy's on the way there in the morning for a coffee and got to the building at 6:20. We were first in line. We only brought our folder with our documents and my husband had his wallet. The next person got there at 6:30 and not long after, another couple. By 7:00 a line was forming. We got let in first at 7:30 to go through security. They put a sticker on the back of my husbands passport and checked mine and checked our DHL confirmation letter. Then they sent us downstairs. We sat on the left side of the elevator, as close as we could. The others joined us quickly. Their were four VJ groups and it was fun to talk about how much we all got our of this web site and huge praise to Saylin for all o... read complete review

We arrived at the Consulte at 630am and we were the 2nd people in line. At about 7 o'clock is when we were joined by another, and it seemed to be a steady stream up to the time the doors opened. Please note that even though the time on the door says 8 o'clock, they open their doors at 730am and allow people to come in and wait until the consulte elevator opens at 8 o'clock. We originally lined up on the right side, but once the officer started unlocking the door he instructed us to line up on the left.
The allow one person in at a time, ask for your interview letter and put a sticker on your passport. From there you go through security. NOTE: Do not bring any large bags or purses. We both had our wallets and passports + our K-1 stuff. Nothing else. Leave everything you can at your hotel, there were many people that were turned away because of this.
Once through security, you walk down some stairs to the elevator. Sit as close as you can to the door and once... read complete review

MEDICAL (Medisys, 500 Sherbrooke West, Montreal):
I had my appointment on September 13th 2012 at 9am. When I first got there the receptionnist asked me for my interview letter, passport, shots record and 3 passport sized pictures (I brought US size pictures as I wasn't sure and it seems like it was alright). Then I sat down for about 30min and I was called to Dr. Alain Dubois' office. He looked in my ears, inside my mouth, knee reflex, he pressed on my abdomen, osculted my heart and lungs, took my blood pressure. He asked me if I ever was in a big accident which I had never been. Then I was sent back to the waiting room. I waited for about 15min and was called again this time for the X-Ray. I was then sent back to the waiting room again After waiting 20 more minutes, I was called by a nurse who had me read something on the wall, took my weight and height, got a blood draw and verified if I needed any more shots. And I did... my dTap (Tetanus, Dyphteria, Pertu... read complete review

That morning I tried being there at 6h30 but ended up arriving at 6h50 or so. There were two people in line before me.
You'll tell if you're at the right place because you should see a bunch of people just holding a file in their hands.
Some people arrived after, with bigger bags.
I was worried because when the guard opened the door, he put up a sign that listed all things you cannot bring in with you. A cellphone was listed among them.
I asked him as I went in, and he said it was ok.
You enter the building one person/couple at a time.
Left right after entering a woman will ask you for your confirmation letter and your passeport. She will take the loomis number I believe, write it on a sticker, and put it on the back of your passeport.
Then come the guards. Kind of scary. Try to avoid asking questions. I was kind of confused as to who would give me a number as I read something about a ticket # here.
The guards wil... read complete review
