Only a few questions asked:
1. How did you meet?
2. What will you do for work?
3. If your Plan A for work fails, do you have a Plan B?
4. Where is your fiance going to school?
5. Do you have a date set for the wedding?
Thanks for the organised package! Approved!
(Helps to have your fiancee with you at the interview as well)

I had good experience with us consulate in sydney for my k1 visa .they ask me so many questions about my relationship with my fiance, also about my fiance,s work and how offen we communicate.i thought CO was happy with my answers but end of the interview he gave me 221(g) asking for additional documents .i sent them my origional birth certificate which they requested the time my interview .so i checked with austraian post they said my documents has been delieverd to the us consulate.
Does anyone have idea how long it takes in sydney embassy to make a decision for this visa?they kept my passport and my status is AP now since 15 july
Its so annoying ..
Does anyone had this 221g experience in sydney embassy ?

My interview was scheduled for 10am, and I arrived about 9.45am, I entered the MLC center lobby and went up to level 10 via the lift.
The U.S. consulate reception is around a corner from the lifts on level 10, upon entering it wasn't busy but there were many security guards they're all friendly!
I handed over my bag and coat, they placed my chest x-ray cd in my bag (it was not needed at the interview at all) I was instructed to wait for a lady to let me into the lift, she told me to get off at level 59.
When I got to level 59 the lady asked for my passport to check my name off a list and buzzed me in, had to pull open that big heavy door!
I was surprised to see that the interviewing area is much like a bank teller with thick heavy glass and intercoms, you stand up speaking to the consulate officer while they type on their computers.
I took a number from the ticket machine and sat down, my number was called about 10 minu... read complete review

Absolutely painless procedure. Had an 8:30am interview, showed up at 8:00am and went straight up. Had a few people in front of me, but it took about 15 kind to get called up initially to hand in paperwork. Sat back down, 15mins later had the "interview". Wasn't really asked any questions really, mostly just what my fiancée is up too etc and then received my approval slip. Less than 40 mins from arriving to being approved! Woo hoo

I had to re-schedule my interview, and this was a little painful. The Consulate basically left me a little in limbo, by saying that they would contact me. I chose to follow up regularly via email (every 2 weeks), asking if a date had become available yet, and 90% of the time they replied within 24hrs. I would advise that if you have no response within 72hrs in a normal week, then send a follow up email.
The Consulate was a little hard to find - Fortunately people in Sydney are very friendly, and I managed to navigate! I went up to the Consulate level in the lift about 30 minutes prior to my interview time. I explained that I was early - This was not an issue. They took my cell phone, and kept this until I left after my interview (No cell phones allowed inside the Consulate!)
I waited in a room with a number, and with a lot of other people. I was called to a window to basically 'check in'. Then I was called up again shortly after to give them the 'requeste... read complete review
