  1. Yaayyyyy ... Guys just talked with a representative n finally he told that NVC received my petition today.. I.e 16th and further they will send me instructions within next couple of weeks... He told that it takes 4 weeks after petition is received at NVC to create case number n send instructions....

Munafn... Habel.... U guys can call n check whether they received ur file or not ... Don't wait....call them

  2. Congrats sbai2000.... For the approval...and PrincessBM don't worry....u will get sumthg soon..

They r processing Nov - Dec 2013 filers and beyond... It's just the ,matter of time...

One of my frd with March 2014 got approval last week.... So they r on the way... Keep ur hope up and definitely u will get ur approval soon.....Best luck we all wish for ur approval...!!!!!

  3. Just to share some info..... i just talked with an operator at NVC and asked her to check but unfortunately my case wasn't yet in their system....

She asked how many days it has been since approval and i told 15 days...so she told if its more than 35 days and NVC hasn't contacted you, then scan a copy of ur Approval notice and send an email at nvcresearch@state.gov...but if its not yet 35 days then wait ...

I asked how many days it takes for them to enter a case in their system and she told it takes 4 weeks...So i think by next week end we should hear sumthg....She also told that they will email me if i have provided email with my petition to USCIS...So now the waiting continues.....

  4. Hi guys..... Well NVC is a big pain to call... Yesterday I started dialing from 8:00 PM but no luck for 45 mins, then luckily my call went through but again for further talk with customer service I had to wait for 1 hour and 10 mins and .... Finally got with a representative

She told still my case wasn't in their system n that it takes 35 days to reach NVC... Blah bhah blah.....

I asked how will I receive notifications from NVC n she told if I provided email with my petition then NVC will send email and if not then paper mail....

So again no luck but will not stop calling them ... Will try again on Friday ... It's now 15 days... At least they should get the petition... Let's see good luck all n don't stop calling....at least we will know what's going on with NVC... Munafn, Habel u guys do also try as u r also approved earlier...

  5. Called today and waited for 45 mins until my call was picked by a representative......He asked me for Case Number or Receipt Number and after checking everything on his computer told that my case is not in their system...

He asked when was my petition approved and after i told it was approved in March end he told that call after 35 days from the date petition is approved...So no luck again this week....

Will try again next weekend...From the call it seemed that they r all in a hurry to answer and...just want to end the call as soon as possible

  6. I think it will take upto next week end for us to get any news from NVC coz as per other members reviews it seems NVC receive cases from USCIS and scan the petition 3-4 weeks after they send..

But giving a shot wont harm anyways....I will give them a call on friday....But i think until next weekend we should hear sumthg about our cases...

Good Luck and do post ur review....

  8. 1. Hi what I did I printed 2 copies Document cover sheet put it on top of your AOS documents and the other one put it on top of your Supporting documents.

And put it in one package.

2.Once it will arrive at the NVC wait for one month to generate Case # You need also to call NVC from time to time to verify if they already assign a case # for your case and then you will need to let them know about your email address to contact you electronically.

So according to ur reply what it means is that:

    1. Get Case Number and IIN from NVC once ur case has arrived and provide ur email address

    2. Log in to ceac.state.gov and fill the DS-261 first and at same time pay AOS fees of 120$

    3. After 2-3 days once the AOS fees shows paid immediately print 2 copies of document cover sheet

    4. Keep first cover sheet above ur AOS docs along with a cover letter & 2nd place before ur IV docs

    and Send immediately to NVC

    5. Once DS-261 is accepted call NVC and ask them to allow u to pay IV fees of 325$ and access to DS-260

    6. Pay DS-260 fees and then fill ur DS-260

    7. once every thing is done print the DS-260 confirmation letter as well as IV fees letter

    8. Call NVC to confirm that they have all ur docs and wait until they do CC

  9. We are doing the CR-1, the directions appear to be the same. The order many go in is 1, 2, 4-5-6, then 3.

    Fill out the agent form.

    Pay the first fee.

Get all the financial and civil documents together listed on the welcome letter checklist. Put the package together and send it to the NVC ASAP. (I also attached the barcode sheet from my AOS, but I am not sure this is necessary as the welcome letter checklist has the same barcode.)

Once your agent form is processed..your next fee will open and shortly after that is processed your visa applicaiton will open. If they are slow about processing your agent form call the NVC to have the review it on the phone...not all the agents know how so you might have to call a couple of times.

I have a question.....For IV Docs to be sent together with AOS documents....Dont we have to include Document Cover sheet for IV docs which will be different than the cover sheet for AOS ???? Coz when we pay IV fees only after that the cover sheet will be generated for IV...

According to u it means that we can print 2 copies of Cover sheet that is generated after fees shows paid for AOS and then keep one coversheet before AOS package and other before IV docs....

Can u please explain me about this coz i am also preparing all the docs and i just dont want to get delayed...

One more question....After how many days did NVC contacted u after ur petition was sent to NVC...???? Did u provided ur EMail to NVC or they themself sent u welcome letter email?????

    Thank you

  10. Just a quick question.... Do you need a separate barcode sheet for IV Docs also ????

Since we have to send AOS docs and IV docs in same packet.... Can just the AOS cover sheet be sent or we have to wait to pay IV fees too and then download the cover sheet for IV and then send all the docs...with 2 bar code sheets I.e one for AOS and one for IV ???

After u send DS261 and pay AOS fees can u immediately send all the documents with the bar code sheet generated after paying AOS fees????

Replies highly appreciated ..... Thank you

  11. Hi Dew_Drops,

What is the contact number for NVC please? Shall I also start to contact them end of April or begining of May because our lawyer said they will contact us within 45 days time. As our priority date is getting closer do you think they will contact us before the time frame they have told us? Many thanks for your assistance in this matter.

I called them last night n luckily talked with a representative... She asked receipt number n checked in their system. But it wasn't in their system so told me to call back after 30 days. Also she told me that they would contact me that they will contact me once they have my petition...But still I will call next Friday.... No need to wait for 30 days .. Almost 3 weeks is enough...

They would contact us but that won't happen until our case is entered in their system.......

603-334-0700 is their number to call

  12. @ dew drop - if you weren't required to file then I guess you just send a letter of explanation. hopefully, some others will chime in with their 2 cents on this...

Well...As far as i understand it's practical that how can a person file tax return for the year when he/she was not even present in US. So NVC should know this by the Alien number of the petitioner. Now, If ur total income is below the poverty guidelines then u have to submit i864a too but if u have a qualifying income which is above the poverty guidelines for last year then ur I-864 and Tax transcripts along with W2 and 1040 is enough.....

    This is what i understand....

    Any comments from our members...???

  13. @ wodm - if I were you, I would absolutely get a joint sponsor....if you cannot provide 3 years of tax returns, you will need someone who can.

But i became Permanent Resident in April 2013...So how do i have 3 years tax returns..???

And for 2014 i have 31000$ income which is above the poverty guidelines.../???? Yeah...in 2013 i had just 3500$ income on my returns but for latest year i do have income above poverty lines and i also will have latest paystubs and job letter.....So i dont think that i need a joint sponser .....

and they NVC also will know that the petitioner became a permanent resident 2 years back...so how can they provide 3 years return..???

Do any of u guys r in a similar situation...????

    Do post ur comments....

  14. Here's what i have collected so far:

AOS Docs from me the Petitioner:

    • Barcoded DOCUMENT COVER SHEET for Form I-864 [will be available after fees paid online]
    • Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (Filled, Signed and dated)
    • IRS Tax Transcript for the year 2014
    • Form 1040EZ for the year 2014
    • W2s for the year 2014
    • IRS Tax Transcript for the year 2013
    • Form 1040 for the year 2013
    • W2s for the year 2013
    • Letter from Current Employment
    • Pay stub(s) of most recent three months from current employment

    Now, from the Beneficiary:

§ Barcoded Cover Sheet for Immigrant Visa Application [will be available after fees paid online]

§ Photocopy of biographic data pages of beneficiary’s Passport

§ Two (2) Passport size Photographs of beneficiary [2 inches × 2 inches]

[ NVC Case Number, Beneficiary’s Name and Date of birth are written on back of both photographs]

§ Photocopy of Birth Certificate of Beneficiary with English translation

§ Photocopy of Marriage Certificate with English translation

That would be enough to send NVC in one package.

I am just confused which form do i have to send I-864 or I864EZ...???? This is what confusing me and i dont want to take any chances for I864 form coz even a single mistake would cost me 2 months and i dont want that....

Do any one have any idea about this..???? Guys....do post ur comments on this....

  15. Just a quick question in reagrds to IL , the visa calculator esitimates that my PD will become current in July means that if that correct will our case be closed before July?

I don't go by Visa calculator but logically if u see ur PD would be current in either August or max September.....And case complete is done when all ur docs are complete with NVC....Now ur Interview is also dependent upon ur Embassy's Backload ....how many applicants they will interview in a particular month depending on all categories....

Now u can also go thru the below NVC link to contact then directly:

    http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/contact/ask-nvc.html

U can do this after may be 3 weeks from now and i think u should get a response from NVC within 2 weeks after that...I would rather prefer to do that after 2 weeks from now...i.e by April 15/2015 we can email to get the case number

But still i will call them early in morning at 7:00 which is good time to call....after 2 weeks are over

I already have all my docs ready and just waiting for NVC to start the process....U too collect all the docs...Better to be prepared early rather than doing stuff at last time...

If u have any querries do ask .....Good Luck
