  1. They have lied to VJ members many times, including the whopper of all lies, that all cases are processed in the order received.

So they are pulling cases from the middle of the stack first? Good to know.

Some people work faster than others, while some cases are less complicated than others. I guess that means they are purposely lying to us and taking ones from the middle of the stack.

(I have gotten to the point where I just skim over certain VJ member's posts because I know what they are going to be about. "Negative, angry, they lie to us, they hate us, they are making us miserable on purpose." etc. Working in an office myself, I understand how 'paperwork' goes. I can at least understand that.)

  2. You got your NoA1 in June. Then you'd be a June filer.

An RFE tends to set a case back between two weeks to a month. It completely depends on the case.

And Igor's list does not predict which petitions will be approved and which will be denied. It only estimates when the petition MIGHT be reviewed, *based on the timelines of other VJ members that they have entered themselves*. The reason you see your name as 'not approved' is because YOU have not entered that it was approved yet. When you get your NoA2, and YOU enter that into your timeline, then it will show you as approved. Igor's list does not take any information from USCIS. It is made completely using the info that VJ users enter in their timelines.

The prediction as to *when* your case will be reviewed depends solely on USCIS. If they are taking five months right now to get to a petition, but then magically speed up so they only take one month to review .. then igor's prediction would be way off! It would be accurate if USCIS doesn't speed up or slow down the amount of time it takes to get to the petitions.

  3. Yes, because only those who have the ability to support someone completely should be able to fall in love, get married, and be with the person they love. Right? (That is sarcasm.)

Some people that go this route are students. I guess students shouldn't ever get married either?

Sorry, but I really have to disagree. Its great you aren't in that situation and its great you wouldn't want to be. However, not everyone is as lucky as you. Being a student and needing a sponsor is not a shameful thing at all. Its unfortunate that you disagree.

  4. I'm thinking about handing out my resume at some stores at the local mall which I've never done before. Those that have, do you include a cover letter or did you just hand them your resume?

I dress up nice, ask to speak to a manager, and directly hand it to them with a firm handshake. Works rather well, actually.

Oh, and I use a paper that's not white. Makes the resume stand out a little! Though, I wouldn't recommend spraying it with perfume... (And no, I haven't tried that!) :)

  5. Just read on Igor's list that my K-1 Petition was among those not approved. I filed i June, got an RFE and sent in the requested material in August, yet haven't heard anything from them. So how does Igor know that my Petition was not approved? Help me here, I am new and totally lost.

When you fill in your timeline... Igor knows then. (It's not automatic and it's not going to get information from anywhere but where you enter it yourself.) :)

  6. Anyone applying for a k1 already makes enough to travel internationally.

Nice general blanket statement there. Considering the fact that some people have to rely on another person's good graces for that plane ticket. (I would know. I haven't purchased a single ticket to travel internationally.)

How do you know that some people might be applying with their parent's money? Or perhaps a friend or coworker bought that plane ticket for them?

    Way to assume!

  7. So I figured instead of trying to call to get (mis)information from the Call Center... and guessing about what to do, I emailed the Service Center directly.

    Subject: Case Related Inquiry

    Hello,

I've been given really conflicting information from the USCIS Call Center. (Awful service there... It's all 'canned' information and they conflict each other. You never know what is actually true!)

I need to send in some documentation for a petition that is Pending. I was told to wait until USCIS requested it. However, I have seen people in my same exact situation wait for a Request, only to be denied for not having the documentation! Where can I send required information to be match up with my petition before USCIS reviews it? I have been waiting since Sept. and would NOT be pleased to be denied because USCIS couldn't tell me how to send in the information. I am not waiting another 5 months for my fiance. (5 months is an absurd amount of time for bringing a loved one over.)

Where can I send my information to be matched up to my original petition? Is there a guarantee it will be placed with my petition? I do not want to risk a denial because USCIS did not ask for the documentation.

    Thank you. KiwiBird

AND I ACTUALLY GOT A REAL REPLY! I was kind of impressed.

Thank you for your inquiry. This email address is intended only for follow up on inquiries submitted through the USCIS National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283 or via TTY at 1-800-767-1833.

As a courtesy, if you wish to send additional documents to support your pending petition, you may send it to the address listed on the I-797, Notice of Receipt that was mailed to you on September 14, 2010.

In the future, please be reminded that all case related inquiries must be addressed to the NCSC first. A customer service representative should be able to assist you when you call the above toll-free number.

If representatives are unable to provide information regarding your case, they will create a service request for the appropriate USCIS office that has jurisdiction over your case to answer your questions and concerns. These referrals must be identified by “Referral ID’s” assigned by NCSC.

So I braved it and just mailed the packet in to the CSC. Worst case scenario is that it gets lost or never makes it to my original petition, which is what would have happened if I didn't send it in at all. If it doesn't work, I'm out $4.95 for postage.

I figure it was worth a shot!

  8. I could totally try the expedite thing.. but what form would I use for it? I was only seeing on the Uscis site that they say to call for an expedite request.

I'll probably send in a copy of the info with the case number plastered all over it. And hope it gets tossed into the same box as my petition. I'm just not sure what paper to stick on top. Ugh, this stress and potentially having to wait another five months is making me sick.

  9. Wishing you all an awesome 2011 - and for kiwibird - you have nothing to fear *hugs*

I just sent in the I-129F form and the fee. No documentation since I thought that was going to be asked for during the interview. The replies are either one of two things: 1) "Don't worry, they will ask you for info" or 2) "I did the same thing, and we waited months, then just got denied."

Just hard to believe they will still just ask for the stuff if others who did the same thing flat out got denied without an RFE. :(
