    Hi There,
Are you an I-129 F or an IR-1/CR-1? Here are some links that provide step by step instructions. What money for the interview do you speak of? If you are an I-129F, I know that typically once the consulate contacts you to schedule the interview date they will provide you instructions on how to make the payment, usually done at a TEB (Turkish Economic Bank) and then the receipt of payment is taken to the interview. If you are an IR-1/CR-1, then the majority of the fees will be paid once requested from you by the NVC. They will send you e-mails with instructions and invoices to make the payments. If you are referring to the money needed to go to the interview, my suggestion would be to set aside about $ 400 for the medical examination (it can be costly if your significant other has not had the required vaccinations)
If you can tell me more information about what case you are filing for I can give you some more information. In the mean time, you can utilize these websites to obtain much of the information you need.
    Thanks

Hi I appreciate your response, but as you yourself stated in the above when referencing my quote, I did state that I was not sure concerning if the same docs can be carried over, however did provide the names of the documents that they would need, thus they can read the instructions. I do not appreciate anyone telling me if and when and what I can post as this is not your website or forum to make that call. I understand your point regarding confusion, but again that is why I clearly stated that I was not sure if the documents could be carried over or if new documents needed to be filled out. I did not just state that they could or could not utilize the same docs. This site was created so that people can try and assist eachother, and yes sometimes people make mistakes or provide mis-information, however I covered my bases by stating that I was not sure on the subject matter of carrying over the documents, only that I was providing the names or numbers of the different documents that would be required for the various situations they may want to apply for.

Sure was a big issue with my wife, neighbor army major came over and we had a round table discussion on this issue. During WW II, draft age was increased to 35 years of age, but strictly for males, females were exempt, she is a female. And don't tell her I told you this, she is over 35 years of age. During the Viet Nam "police action", never was a declared war, maximum age for males was 26 years of age.
In our nuclear age, handing her a musket to shoot down a missile is not much protection, but at least its something, and no longer discrimination between "innocent civilians and military. If an enemy does come here, anyone will be shot. If that happens, wouldn't be nice to have a single shot 22? She did agree to that, but as far as putting her in a remote front line, extremely unlikely. Even at that, if in the military, less than 10% of the troops are actually involved in combat. My neighbors wife was shipped to Iraq, she is a physicians assistant, but served in a well guard compound, she is in the national guard.
My stepdaughter has no issue with this, but she likes to kick butt, but again the odds are so thin, will never be called. If she was, the rest of us will volunteer to defend, maybe not our country, nor our president, but certainly our family.
I really don't feel this is an issue, but over 60 million people were killed during WW II and practically none of them had weapons to defend themselves. If we were in that situation, all of us will be glad to have some kind of weapon. I would like to have an F-22 loaded with nuclear bombs, how about you?

First off, you do not even know if in fact he has been cheating, if the baby is his, etc etc. You said suddenly she stopped calling. That being the case, isn't it kinda strange that if they were having a baby together that she would be calling more frequently? Before you jump to conclusions and ruin what may still be a great marriage, I would sit him down and talk with him, tell him your concerns and ask him to just be honest and straight forward with you. If, worse case scenario, he has been unfaithful, it is your decision on what you want or need to do, however, as you said, put the child first. If the child is born here, your child will be an American citizen. Plus it is possible for you, if the circumstances you have stated prove to be true and you can provide evidence it may be possible for you to continue staying here, applying for citizenship on our own. I would honestly suggest you calm down, talk with your husband, try and obtain the truth, and then go from there. Also, in this matter, if it turns out to be true, I would strongly suggest obtaining the advise of legal council to determine what your options are.

I don't know all of your circumstances, but you are giving up your relationship because of this obstacle?? Maybe you can take time to relax and refocus and then you will feel better and approach this problem with a strong solution. However, if this causes you to give up so easily, perhaps this is fate and you would only find harder times in the future here. I hope you find what you want, but always know that VJ is here to help and support.

Really? Did you just say that the law is not practiced in reality? And which reality is it that you reside in? Because where I come from, in this particular reality, we have a judicial system, and law is practiced daily, including all government branches, including but not limited to the Department of Home Land Security. That being said, the above statements which you have made present themselves in such a manner that one can only percieve this entie situation, (I understand you state it is a hypothetical situation) to be a seemingly fraudulent one.
    The basic point here is:
    1. You presented factual information that was neither factual or true. You have provided us with only hypothetical type situations.
    2. You need to look at the basic facts, do you really believe and understand she, your girlfriend, is telling you surrounding the whole situation as I find it a bit odd and unbelievable that the OP would go through all trouble to bring here here, especially considering the controls around the Filipino government, only to leave her high and dry at the airport.
    3. I am glad you understand and that you agree with and find value in the information provided by Mari on post # 73
    4. You continue to rebute other members on this site, however the information you provide and the statements you make are simply ludicrous. Again, I will reference your last post, "reading the law is not an example. nor is the law practiced in reality."
Clearly stated, we have been round and round with you concerning your initial request for information to which you have rudly and with conflicting statements attacked other member of the VJ community. It would be appreciated at this point if you would take the time to consider whether your sitation is real or not and truly take into consideration whether the information your "girlfriend" has provided you make sense. That being said, it does not seem necessary to me for you to continue with this post because any information provided to you is being utilized by you only for the puposes of attacking other members and quite frankly driving us crazy!
Good luck in your reality bubble wherever that may be, I hope sometime soon you can take the information provided in this form to heart and realize that people that were simply only trying to help you and answer your questions. No one here deserved the unfair treatment you have served upon them.

KemalTuanaYalcin got a reaction from Luckywife2007 in Fiancee Visa for an arranged marriage. Possible?
Hello. I think that this type of arrangement may be possible in that as you stated in this type of marriage or arrangement there is correspondence between the two parties that intend to marry. For the purposes of a K-1 visa, you have to show intent to marry and proof of a relationship. However, the "relationship" in this case may be quite different from other relationships where there is a lot more romantic types of wording throughout the documents provided as evidence. That being said, I would assume that if you are able to show evidence of a viable relationship, such as phone/calling cards, discussions on MSN (not sure if that is allowed or encouraged) Skype things of that nature, you can prove or show evidence of correspondence between the two of you. From what I have read on the K-1 visa documents, it does not state that you must be truly madly deeply in love, it only states that you must show evidence of a relationship and intent to marry, both of which are present in this case, correct? Also, you have to show evidence of personal meet, so as long as you have those bases covered you should be okay. I know you stated below that you do not have any proof of personal meet, such as photos, but can you get copies or pull up records for any flights you may have taken there or get signed documents from family members on both sides that state you both met personally and that they observed the meet? Otherwise I would suggest planning another trip to show evidence of personal meeting. The only stipulation I can add however is the interview itself. They will ask questions along the lines of why does your intended want to marry you etc. etc. etc. In that circumstance, I certainly would not suggest saying anything other than the truth, however, I am not sure how the government would look upon the answer "because this is an arranged marriage," or anything along those lines. My suggestion to you would be to go in for a free consultation with an immigration attorney or a few and get their feedback on this subject. It could never hurt to get the advise of some people that are legally versed in this particular subject.
I hope this helps and i wish you the best of luck!

It's easy to recognize: if you find yourself in handcuffs, spending a few nights in a cold prison cell with a free standing toilet and then get pushed into a white van and driven to the airport, where you get escorted to the plane before they take off the handcuffs, you have been deported. Don't worry about letters . . .

KemalTuanaYalcin got a reaction from Luckywife2007 in Age Difference for K-1. Comments Welcome.
I am very happy you made this comment. I read a post yesterday and it seems the couple may have been denied the visa because of the age difference. I have been very worried about this. There is not a dramatic age difference between my fiance and I but still I was concerned. But it is great to see people stating that they have received visas even with their age differences and I think it is great that people are making positive posts here concerning that issue. My personal stance is that age is a number, the maturity of a person, what they feel in their heart and the way the two people interact with each other is what is really important. AGE means nothing. Thanks for your post!

I’m Very Happy for You. This page has a very positive look at this subject. I have a good feeling when I read this post, but if you will go to the Egypt Portal Page you will find in Egypt Hot Topics ( on the right side of the page) A Topic entitled "Family Acceptance" Where you will see how a woman can be bashed and condemned by many for loving a younger man. It isn’t seen as love in so many ppl’s eyes only seen as the man being too young. He’s 22 she’s 38. I found myself writing on this post as I am older than my fiancé. On that post ppl had become so cruel that additional posting was stopped. To me it was the saddest display I had ever seen. Giving advice was one thing but being cruel was just not what that lady deserved. Where I come from at age 18 you’re old enough to make your own decisions. I realize not everyone will agree with age difference, but please don’t place judgement on others. Many Thanks to everyone posting here who knows what the meaning of LOVE is

As other people have said, if your case is fairly simple DO IT YOURSELF!
We are using a lawyer who have caused us NOTHING but trouble and expense. They cost us a month at the start of the process because they sent us wrong forms, we got an RFE which meant our NOA2 was delayed by a month, and when the info got to NVC they have now cost us at least another month because we got another RFE. This is all because of wrong information they put on the forms. Also, they dont give a stuff about you once they have your money, which has to be paid upfront of course, and they have no incentive whatsoever to chase your case up because its just another hassle for them.
Sorry if I sound bitter...I AM!! Will be reporting them and asking for a full refund when all this is over. All in all they have delayed us by about 3 months.
You can easily do the whole process yourself with the help of the excellent people on this site. Good luck! x

At first I didn't even realize that it was MY number...then I logged in and sure enough the last update was today. I clicked through again and saw those same words!!! No text or email (yet). OMG!!! I just said to FH last night, if we get approved tomorrow, we can plan out everything with no worries, because he wants to get married on our first anniversary (March 5). I am soooooo amped right now. Happy that we can finally move to the next step.

I agree with the above posts. I am going on longer than 5 months after receiving my NOA1, and my status still says "Initial Review". If I were you, I would develop a lot of patience really soon because this process is close to 6 months or longer waiting for your NOA2. As far as the NOA1, you should hear something within a week. And if you filed Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application or Petition Acceptance, signing up for an SMS alert, USCIS is rather quick about sending you a text message before you see your NOA1 in the mail. I received my SMS within 2 days. But then again, I sent my I-129F packet through certified U.S. mail with return receipt, so they received it rather quick too.

Yes, persecute. That is exactly what you've done but that is neither here nor there. It seems you have completely missed the points that Mari was making on her posts and have thus also misunderstood the outlandish comments posted by AL. Of course people can be angry, scared etc. etc however, you stated you read through all the posts. I suggest you read through them again as it appears you have grossly failed to see why the comments made by AL have ruffled so many feathers around here.
The fact remains that he was taking a situation, yes a horrible, tragic situation, and was trying to utilize and manipulate the situation for his own personal gain. Disgusting!!!!! That is the problem here. He did not appear take into consideration the feelings of the individuals that would read his posts nor did he appear to take into consideration the magnitude of the situation occurring in Haiti vs. the situation that took place in Russia. They are completely different.
And to come back at Mari and state, " your problem is way more serious than Al's." What is the point of this comment? Is it necessary? Comment like this on this site are completely unnecessary, unfounded and unwarranted.
