    Why_me, I think you missed the point and genuiness of my question. I meant that if her hubby had to proof read things for her, does this mean that her English is not strong enough to teach English?, or she did not have enough confidence in her English abilities, this is a honest question, not trying to be mean?
    Your response was more ignorant and rude than my actual question....

    Wow!, did you really just go there with that!. I am Australian my friend, and am fluent in British English, not the English that has been technically bastardised by Americans. And its Gandhi, not Ghadi.! And when I say bastardised, I once again am not saying it in a bad way, its just a term I use (or better still, had been 'dumbed down" as you say by Americans..eg,..leaving letters out of words colour vs color, aluminium vs aluminum, get the point!).
    I did not realise that people so highly educated could be so ignorant, Thank you ONA for clarifying the british/ american aspect.
    And if you're curious about the Gheto A$$ comment, maybe you need to go add the study of EBONICS to your list of educational credits.( I am married to a black man , if that helps!). I asked a simple damn question, an honest to goodness question, and you my friend turned it into a personal attack on me, and dont say you didnt you damn well did.
    Vj has turned into a big bitching site, plain and simple, where people feel the need to belittle others.
    And finally, I know what proof reading is, I do it alot too, for others. But I have never had my own college paperwork proofread, as I am confident in my abilities, plain and simple. It is clear Ignorance is bliss in your eyes.
    I was going to thank you for explaining the whole teaching thing before you turned it into an attack on me.... I apologised for my ignorance in the hope of a decent explanation to my question, that should of been a clue as to the sincerity of my question to begin with.

    Sorry to interrupt, but 'realise' is British spelling (also preferred in Australian English), while American/Canadian spelling is 'realize'. So, you're both right here.

    I have four sons. The youngest two are 18. Just give your sons time and don't try to force the situation. It is natural for them to be reserved at first.

    Yes. The child does not need the certificate of citizenship to apply for a passport. See the instructions for applying for a US passport.
    A child claiming US citizenship through the naturalization of a parent must provide proof of US citizenship to obtain a US passport. The child can prove US citizenship by submitting his or her certificate of citizenship or by submitting 1) the certificate(s) of US citizenship of parent(s), 2) child's foreign birth certificate, and 3) proof of child's legal permenent resident status (green card).
    The US passport by itself will be proof of US citizenship for most other purposes. However, there may be occassions when the child having his or her own certificate of citizenship may be handy.
    If cash is short, then just get the US passport. The child will need it to travel back to the US after visiting her grandmother in the Ukraine.

    Research the Child Citizenship Act.
    Your daughter will automatically become a US citizen when you naturalize. There are four requirements;
    1. Child has a US citizen parent (born or naturalized);
    2. Child is an LPR;
    3. Child is under age 18; and
    4. Child regularly reside with US citizen parent.
    Your daughter will not naturalize with you. Only you will apply for citizenship. Your daughter will automatically become a US citizen when you naturalize. After you take your oath, you will file Form N-600 to get her a certificate of citizenship. The certificate is proof of US citzenship, it is not a naturalization process. You only need to pay the fee for Form N-600 for her. No Form N-400, no biometics, etc. for her.
    She can travel to the Ukraine. No problem there.

    I think I did this on Christmas Eve the first year Wes and I were married. Maybe the second too.
    I would never ever want to go down the immigration path again. It was hard.
    But would I change having gone down that path to be with Wes? Not in a million years would I change it. Every once in a while we get a lucky break. A certain someone is out there, and we find them. Who knew I would find him 4000 miles away from me? Who knew that through the various twists and turns of our lives we would one day happen to cross paths electronically.
    How could I tell that what I sensed was real? How could he? How good was our internet "radar"?
    How permanently etched in my mind is the first time I saw him, walking across the airport terminal, so tall and so tired, smiling from ear to ear, pulling off that silly hat, sweeping me off the ground.
    How can I forget the look on his face when he first saw me in my wedding dress. And the look on my sister's face - she knew. She knew what she was seeing was once in a lifetime.
    And how have these years been with my Irishman. They have been blessed. Oh sure, roadblocks. Adjustments. Blending families. Moving house. Unemployment.
    But then there is this. There is that constant and abiding knowledge that I am treasured and loved. And that I am the luckiest woman in the world for having found the gentlest, most honest and decent man that never grew up in America. But who found me just the same.
    I wish all of you here the same kind of happiness we have found. And I wish you all a very Happy Christmas.

    You should wait 2 weeks after you arrived in the US before applying for a SSN. If you go too soon your
    record of arrival will not be in the SAVE-ASVI system yet, and it will require manual verification from the
    USCIS. As this will add weeks to the period it takes to process the SSN, it is advisable to attempt to wait the two weeks to be safe.

    And, if I remember correctly from threads of recent yore (is "recent yore" an oxymoron?), it may not be out of the realm of reality if a certain intending immigrant ends up verbally insulting the U.S. upon attempted entry at POE.In regard to Gary and Alla, I think it's wonderful that a husband sings the praises of his wife as often and devotedly as Gary does, si man.
    In regard to overimbibing, the future Mrs. T-B. attended consecutive, all-night "despedidas" (going-away parties) in THREE different Ecuadorian cities before catching her flight to the U.S. She arrived as a sleepless zombie, and with a terrible chest infection that took three weeks to clear up, but she arrived on time, si man.

    there you go right there. pitbulls aren't the problem. stupid people that own them & train them to be aggressive is the problem. i've owned several pitbulls..all were great family pets.
    charles where does that dog live?...you need to report its owner for animal cruelty. they have a dog tied up w/ a tow chain & isolated from people. they raised that dog to be a weapon just like the dumbass alan discribed. of course its going to be aggressive its an animal.

    You entered the United States through K1 and no divorce, right? So I think you are going to apply N400 on the basis of marriage to a USC. Even you are above and beyond the 3 years.
    But maybe I'm wrong and some people here could give you better suggestions.

    By Melissa's own admission- This guy belly ached for an expedited interview at the Embassy by going thru friends in high places and then because of a hangover wanted to reschedule....He cannot catch a plane on time....What next?
    Honestly, I've been on VJ a while, I've seen people whose IQ I was sure was less than average complete their immigration and start their lives together more organized and motivated than these two.
    It's not real anyway. It's a bored, attn hungry VJer and soon that Vjer's buds will be along to throw poop at those that say this is not real.
