I am confused on how a married person is suppose to fill this form out too. Looks like if your co-sponsor's wife is included in #21c then he will need to put her in 24b. The form asked for individual income then income from 1040 which is filed jointly. It also asked if the wife listed has an i-864A on 24d. I would call them and ask.

Am I doing this right? I am confused because of the need to file i-130 and then i-129F.

I married last month in China and now trying to get the wife here.

I have i-130, i-129F, G-1145, G-325a, and i-864 all ready to go. I read the Step-by-Step Guide for a K-3 Visa, but still a bit confused why many people are not doing the K-3 Visa route. Is there a better way? Thank you for your help!

Pretty good experience in getting the Affidavit of Single Status Authenticated by the Chinese Consulate. They actually authenticate the Secretary of State's seal and not my document. It could have been Affidavit of Being a Monkey for all they care.

Arrived at 10am on Wednesday, free parking on 4th street, walked to 500 Shatto Place 3rd floor, got two number from the machine, called 2 minutes later and submitted my Visa, called 4 minutes later submitted my authentication paper. Came back on Thursday 9:30am a week later, waited for 20 minutes in line, paid $160 and got my authentication paper and visa.

What types of position is DH looking for?

There are jobs, just more requirements and pay a bit lower than a few years ago.

I think DH needs to get a BS degree. The school does not matter as long as it's accredited. He’s only been working for 8 years! What too old and too experienced? He needs to do it for you and not allow his pride to get in the way for a brighter future. The job market is only going to get tougher in the US with jobs going overseas. Many non-degree people found IT jobs in the 90s because of high demand. It can be challenging if they get layoff now.

I always joke with my friends telling them “If you can work from home, you can work from India.”

He sounds like jack of all trades with skills from networking to programming. It is good for getting in the door, but not for a career. People that focus and specialized makes more, get more stable jobs, and more opportunities.

I am focusing on IT security right now. The market is big and will get larger as the U.S. searches for new service markets.

I'm sure your wife can also find friends to testify that you beat her! You need to record the abuse and have believable people confirm the beating.

Police report is best! Call them next time and let them do a report then you can choose not to press charges, but still have a report on record.

I would stand up to her after the police report to see if you can change the situation. Maybe all she needs is a dude with a backbone!

I am preparing an Affidavit of Single Status right now before leaving for China in September.

I am going to be in China for a while, can I submit the I-129F or I-130 from China?

What else do I need to do before leaving for China?

Planning to get marry in China. On the Consulate-general of China site:

1) I sign the Affidavit of Single Status before notary public.

2) Certified by the clerk of county (Los Angeles).

3) Certified by the Secretary of State.

4) Authenticated by the Chinese Consulate in Los Angles. (by mail only)

Why can't I bring the Affidavit of Single Status and sign in front of Secretary of State?

What does the clerk of county actually certify? Me being single OR the notary public is legitimate?
