  1. I was married about 5 years and we lived together and went thru all the imigration process extensively including multiple interviews. Even USCIS took us separely and asked same questions. Everything went smoothly. USCIS should have all the records, pics, extended family pic etc. It's very unfortunate that we got divorce but things happens. Not sure why USCIS is making big deal about it now, since they already did background check very throughly first time.

This is a big deal NOW because you are trying to bring another person to the United States. USCIS has no control over your divorce, but they do have power now. This kinds of scam where a person scams an USC for permanent status, divorce, then apply the real love to the states happens a lot. You just have to wait!

If I was in their shoes, you are waiving a red flag.

  2. Nothing to send back.. that's it.. the date is set..

Get the medical exam done early to give time if problems. The medical exam place in Guangzhou do not do appointments, just show up in the morning and wait. They have all the forms when your wife gets there. Tell your wife to bring a friend to help with waiting in different lines.

That date in the e-mail for interview is actually the appointment to submit all the documents! They will not interview without having all the documents. The interview is next morning. You are looking at 2 days to get this done!

Bring everything on the checklist + extra for the appointment and they will ask for each item they want. Everything else they don't want, you will bring back to the interview.

  3. I'm not sure your tax bill proves ownership. Do you have the Deed?

Haven't seen anyone using 100% assets on the i-864 before. I don't think you need i-864A unless you use relatives' asset.

You don't have any prove of income in Belgium? What is Belgium's equivalent of W2? I would put more than required on the i-864.

It's not too bad since you only need $94,560 for household of 2.

  4. Hope you have skills in demand! I know people had job offers started 6 months later.

Not sure about DCF (direct consular filing), but looks like I could have dragged out many NVC steps to 1 year. It would be better than delaying i-130 since that's what took the most time.

If you would only start the job search after she gets the visa, then you have 6 months.

  5. You are missing USCIS in your process. That's where 80% of the processing time. Did you read the step-by-step instructions? i-864 is not required until the NVC stage and that can be 6+ months away.

Q1. Form i-864P will list the requirements. For a household of 2 you only need to make $18,912.

Q2. You submit your pictures and supporting evidence when you file I-130 with USCIS and more with DS-230 to NVC. You bring everything to embassy for interview again! Pictures with family members first. I printed Powerpoints for mailing and photos and photobooks at interview.

Q3. Police report with DS-230. They should have everything before scheduling the interview.

  6. I created an e-mail just for the CR1 process. I will never check that e-mail box again!

Did you change address? If not, wait for mail or call them.

Original Naturalization Certificate? They are going to take the paper and put you on the bus. hehe!

Looks like SPAM to me with a person's direct e-mail address, calling herself Ms.., and using all these XXXs on public information.

  7. Pretty much you have to convince the consulate that she is coming for you and not her ex with 3 of her kids!

It's going to be very hard since DR is high fraud and you are in a wheelchair. You can move there and/or have kids. What is her ex's timeline on how he + 3 kids got to the U.S. in relation to their divorce? Does her ex and kids live in your state?

The consulate thinks you are being scammed. I would just move there and put in a few years before trying again!
