  3. Your criminal history is fair game for a CO to ask the beneficiary about at a visa interview. If the beneficiary is or appears to be unaware, that may give the CO grounds to deny the visa. As for the offense itself, it's not a barrier to petition approval unless the offense falls under the Adam Walsh Act (and that deals with sex crimes).

  15. If your fiancée does not currently have a birth certificate, she'll need to go to the notary office (公证处) that has jurisdiction over her household registration and obtain a notarial birth certificate. If she has to jump through hoops to obtain one, so be it because this certificate will be mandatory.

  20. ***Moved from What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration form to IR-1/CR-1 Process & Procedures*** ** Moderator hat off ** The second I placed in bold and red is a non-starter. In addition to using a tourist visa with intent to adjust status is fraud, you wouldn't be applying for a tourist visa in the first place, your wife would. With a US citizen spouse, her chances of being granted one are virtually nil. Any synonyms of the word fast do not go hand in hand with the US immigrant visa process. As mentioned by a prior poster, you could be waiting for 1.5-2 years from the time you file to the time a visa is issued. If it takes less time, then count your blessings.
