  1. Each case is unique but usually 3-7 weeks. During the time you get your NOA2 you need to wait for the NVC to complete its case and send the approval to the USEM (~1 week or less) and for the USEM to get the hard copy of the file (1 week). Then you can call for the interview. Assuming your ready to go its within a month. Sometimes with you might find an earlier opening.

    sweet, thanks :)

  2. I know a touch can mean many things, but im just curious as to others experience. I got my first touch on July 27 2010, second on August 2nd 2010, and now two months later on october 10th 2010. Mind you i previously had a denied application due to not sending in any required documentation (long story)and now both of them have been touched on 10/03/2010.

so assuming someone is working on my file as opposed to just moving them from one place to another (since both files have been touched), how long would the average file take to go from a touch to an NOA2?

Im praying for a speedy one as i have a trip in November to the Phillippines and it would be nice for her to be able to fly back with me or at least for me to go to her interview with her.

    Thanks in advance :)

  3. I noticed you don't smile a lot on your pictures unlike your husband and others there.

    Congratulations though.

hehe not everyone is a smiler, hehe i have a forced smile and a cheesy smile, my eyes are the dead givaway :)

  4. The first meeting is sooo nice :)

and trics are fun i only rode once but i was forced to stay away from jeepneys when i was there cath and her family told me it was just simpler and safer to ride the taxi.

I was down in cebu mind you and the polution ddidnt seem any worse than in ny :)

  5. Heres a wee story to lighten the mood..

Like everyone on here rach and I were getting mega impatient a few weeks back as we'd filed early July. We decided it would be best for rach to come over so she promptly asked for time off from her dancing job at busch gardens and we booked the flight. After checking visa journey and USCIS every day/minute/second. I woke up at just after midnight and had a look at facebook.. BAM! there it was on Rachels header "Babe We've been accepted.. wooohooo" I felt so happy, started planning everything in my head not to mention updating my visa journey status (glad I didnt.. read on) SO the next day there are about 20 facebook messages congratulating us on our visa acceptance and people asking when the wedding is etc.. Rachel then phones and confesses very sheepishly that a friend of hers (she didnt notice herself) knew her side of the story and felt the message may have been interpreted differently.. RAchel explained that the message "babe we've been accepted..wooohooo" actually meant her holiday request at busch gardens had been granted and had absolutely nothing to do with the visa!!!! AAAAAAAARgh!!

Just as well I love her and believe me.. when she comes to scotland there will be a practical joke for payback..!!

Stole your idea :) heading to the phillipines for thanksgiving, sucks though my boss only let me take a week off. im tempted to press for 2 but we are getting audited and i dont want to push it :(.

kinda gives you something to look forward to other than waiting for the NOA2, im praying that we can schedule her interview for around then if the chips fall in the right places.

  6. honest, gary was a bit rude when he said " K1's are not eligible for expidite, which part of that is not clear? " yaaaaa thats a bit harsh when thats the first time i read him say it.

And as far as being defensive, i am a single father myself and my son is just about 2 years old. If i was dating an american woman no one would think twice about why. But even at my work people make off the cuff coments not gettin as they say it that its a bit rude and offensive to boil our love down to simply wanting a nanny and not knowing that when she comes here she will go to school and wants to work herself AND wants a baby.

So i can understand the OP's defensiveness, people in life often speak without care for what the words they say will do. Words can kill you know, but they can also save lives, just gotta know and care enough to use them properly.

Course thats a lesson that i myself continually learn every day :)

  7. In the Philippines, they don't send Packet 3 or Packet 4 anymore; it's just referred to as interview instructions, which you can download from the US Embassy Website.

    English: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/301443/pdf-files/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet_001.pdf

    Tagalog: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/301443/pdf-files/K1instructionTag_rtf3_001.pdf

Maxx121, when you get to the point that your fiancee calls the US Embassy to schedule the interview, and provide an e-mail address, these are the same links the agent at the US Embassy will provide.

    sweet, thanks

  8. Hi,

For evidence of meeting within the last two years we will submit (amongst other things) the bio page and just the relevant pages with stamps, not all the pages. I agree that it would be pointless to copy all other (empty) pages.

    Good luck.

Not really pointelss, in some cases they require you to submit copies of all pages. Silly if you ask me, but thats the goverment for you.

  9. Sweet, crossing my fingers for the both of us :) mind you this is our second attempt. the first time went badly because i didnt send in the needed documentation, which sucks cause i was told by one of their agents that they would request the info later.

waisted two months and five hundred bucks that i coulda used on something else.

coulda put that toward another trip :( oh well. such is life :)

  10. I didn't do the indepth analysis that you did; but just using the average processing times, I expect July NOA2's to start flowing freely at the end of September or early October.

It's annoying to have to just sit and wait but looking at the numbers gives me hope.

Yeah, im not gonna start driving myself crazy till the first week in october. If by then i dont get an NOA2 then the august numbers should be in adn i will really have a good sit down with the stats and an excel spread :).

    this waiting blows though.

  11. another july filer here,i was looking at the trend and volume chart on the USCIS website and from what they habe posted there and what i could figure, July wont start moving till next month.

In July they received 2014 new I 129f cases but had a backlog of 5660 for a total of roughly 7600. in the previous month they completed roughly 4000 petitions and in july they completed 3000. If you look at the trend for the previous year they seem to slack off in july and increase in august ,Aug of 09 they completed 4800 and another 5000 in september.

If the same holds true for this year that backlog of 5660 should be knocked out in august which would be the may and june filers and july shoudl start moving in september and be finished in october.

mind you i am bored and just took a quick look at the numbers without creating my own spreadsheet and playing with the numbers so this should prolly only hold true for the average case.

but hey what do i know im sitting her on my couch drinking eating breakfast at 2pm wishing i could take a look at augusts actual numbers :(

If you are still not sure or just want to be reassured, call your local congressman. If yours is as good as mine, they have someone who handles immigration cases and will look over your application for free and tell you if you are missing anything.
