Okay well you may as well prepare a new packet with the CORRECT fee of $1070 and cancel the current check. PLEASE stop rushing this. If you missed the fee and now wrote the fee wrong it's likely you're missing something or doing something else wrong. Please have a read of the AOS thread in my signature which has the required document list.

Okay, why? .... Yes send off a new packet, but why did you send a check for $1450. The filing fee to adjust status, form I-485 is $985 plus a biometrics fee of $85 totalling $1070 as I said in my first post. See here http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=3faf2c1a6855d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD
The filing fees for AP and EAD are waived if you file all forms together. The likelyhood is that they will either send your packet back due to the wrong fee, or they will keep a hold of it and RFE you for the correct amount. Either way you will now have to wait to see what they do.

    What's a "sangose?"
How has your wife "locked [you] up?" Is she keeping you a prisoner?
There is nothing you can do if your wife does not want to proceed with an immigration case for you. It is her decision.
You cannot extend your stay in the US since you entered on the Visa Waiver Program. Your school cannot continue to enroll you as a student without a student visa.
You have to go back to the UK. If you stay, you will be living in the US illegally.

    http://curacao.usconsulate.gov/visa_waiver_program.html
I have entered the U.S. on the VWP but now find I need to stay longer than the 90 days. Can I transfer to another type of visa without leaving the U.S.?
No, you cannot transfer from the VWP to any other type of visa, and you cannot extend the VWP 90 day admission period. You must leave the U.S., Canada, Mexico and adjacent islands within the VWP 90 day admission period, and either apply for a visa relevant to your new situation, or re-enter on the VWP if your next stay will be less than 90 days and you still meet the other requirements. Re-entering on the VWP is however at the discretion of immigration officials at the port of entry, who can deny admission.
Can I extend the 90 day limit of the Visa Waiver Program?
No, the 90 day period of admission is not extendable.

At the top of the page there is a link to reviews of POE. So maybe you can see what people have to say about Liberty Airport. It's hard to give a definitive answer as to how long it will take. It doesn't actually need to take any longer, it's not like it involves anything that takes much time. However at some airports they may make you go into a room and wait and only have one person dealing with such things and they might be busy dealing with other stuff. (They don't really "quiz" you when you immigrate, they just have to do a couple of bits of paperwork and fingerprint you. So generally less quizzing than would occur when you visit :-) )
There's nothing you really need to do once you arrive. Apply for SSN if you don't receive it (the checkbox on the DS-230 is a little unreliable). Apply for a driver's licence. (States vary, but generally you do need to get this done pretty quickly, rather than driving on your UK licence.) Get yourself added to your wife's accounts. (You'll need SSN for this.) Get health insurance...
I think there are some threads about transferring money on VisaJourney. It kind of depends on how much you're transferring, as to which option will be the cheapest. Personally I kept my UK bank account open.

The only option is the CR1. Nothing else will work.
This situation happens more than I can count, I don't get it but I guess he did what he wanted to do. Now, he is stuck back in UK for the next 9 to 12 months.

Absolutely NOTHING is needed in London to prove your engagement, love, or continuing relationship. They will not look at it if you bring it. You don't need a new letter saying you still want to marry. I've kept up with 3 years of interviews in London and there is no "just in case" time anybody has ever needed photos and all that stuff. Other consulates may expect it, but not London

Once you have EAD the I-94 is irrelevant for SSN purposes. You are qualified to get a number because you are now authorized to work. I would try again at the SS office. Perhaps they were trying to process you as a K-1 entrant, which would require you to have time left on your I-94. You should get processed as an EAD holder instead. Good luck.

Member, Mal and Meg just sent the vaccination worksheet with their AOS application(DS-3025) and got passed. We have done the same, and so far so good but not yet approved.
It says in the instructions that K1 applicants do not need to fill in the I-693 so long as their medical was done within the last year. It seems people only get an RFE when the medical records don't get joined up to their case.
    Hope that helps

There is plenty of advice from people who went throug it on this forum. Take some time, read the guides at the top of this page, read the forms carefully and answer honestly.
Proof of marriage is your marriage certificate. Later, if you get an interview, you will have to show proof of bona fide marriage (joint bank accounts, utility bills, lease, health and life insurance etc).
Yes, the bottom part of form I-94 that's stapled in her passport. Make a front and back copy of it.

ameribrit reacted to Nich-Nick in When the visa is mailed - can you stipulate an address?
You make arrangements with a courier company desk inside the embassy for the return of your passport. At that time you write down the address where you want it delivered. It can be your parents house or even the local pub as long as you or your representative will be there to sign for it. The address on your official embassy paperwork doesn't matter (except if they don't approve on the day and say they will contact you to let you know when you should send your passport to them for the visa. Then they would need the address.)

There is no need to attach anything. There is no need to explain anything as you're filing it with AOS. You don't have to write a date, you put "unknown" and "multiple trips" and you'll be fine.

for a K-1, a work permit applied for before AOS will expire with the I-94 (90 days from entry)... simply not worth it based on cost and time to process...

You missed some of the details. Any DS-3025 may not be acceptable. They'll give you a DS-3025 whether you got the required shots needed for AOS or not. Some doctors fail to sign them. Some fail to complete the results section. I will say Knightsbridge clinic is very good at completing those forms if you got your shots and told them you had chickenpox.
There are certain things your DS-3025 should have to be considered complete.
Look at your DS-3025. If it has the following items, you don't need an I-693.
    1. Shots marked (at least one of a series)
    MMR
Td or Tdap or DT or DTP or DtaP (date no longer than 10 years ago)
Varicella or VH written by it if you had chickenpox

    2. Everything else marked not age appropriate or medically appropriate.
    3. RESULTS section filled in with "incomplete". AND "may be eligible for blanket waiver"
    4. Signed and dated by the doctor
If it's not completed like that then see a civil surgeon for the I-693. If it is complete, send a photocopy of your DS-3025.
Do NOT do what Willouby did recently and send in a blank I-693 along with it. Do one or the other.
The USCIS is supposed to have your medical files, but sometimes lose them or fail to match them up with your AOS. Do not get another exam unless you get an RFE that says they do not have results of your medical. It means they lost them, but you are probably stuck with paying for a new exam.
I'm positive if you can understand what I've posted and can follow directions, you can get a greencard without an I-693. The DS3025 has to have all those things, not just some of them. Incomplete is fine if the box about blanket waiver is also ticked.

We didn't send a smidgen of marriage evidence with the AOS except the proof that we married (marriage certificate.) We had no RFEs or interview. They don't require evidence up front. Gather what you can while you wait and provide it at the interview if you have one.

Yes you should call USCIS that you didn't get your hard copy of your NOA2. I hear you will need that for Adjustment Of Status in the US. Your case status on their web site doesn't matter, that system doesn't work well at all, and for all we know you may be in Initial Review with both of you in the US 50 years from now!

It tells you in the link/webpage. What part is confusing?
    Mail to embassy--
The 4 DS-xxxx forms. Some are in duplicate, meaning print it twice or photocopy. Step One tells which are duplicated. Write it down.
    DS-2001 readiness form
Cover letter with DS2001. The webpage tells what goes in the cover letter. Its in Step Two, but they can all go in the same envelope mailed to the embassy.
    Take to interview--
    Appointment letter
Receipt emailed to you showing you paid for the visa by phone
All the documents shown in bold type on the web page that apply to you. Meaning..if you're not married then marriage certificate doesn't apply. Never arrested-no court records for you. Get out a piece of paper and scroll down the page and make your list. It's a long webpage. http://london.usembassy.gov/interview_documents.html
    Visa fees - http://london.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas/iv_fees.html
Find K visa on the page in two locations. Write it on your paper. Pay anytime before going to the interview. You don't have to pay before the medical or before you will be assigned an appointment.

The group that sent in packet 3 around the time I did were typically waiting about 1 month between sending off a completed packet and interview day.
Recently though, London has been scheduling further out than that. Did you tell them an expected wedding date in your cover letter?
Give DOS a call today, and they will be able to update you on your case status.

Never call the Embassy for the updates on your case. DOS have exactly the same information on their computers, and will track your case all the way. And the added bonus is that the calls are a fraction of the cost of calling the embassy.
Call DOS on 1-202-663-1225 Don't listen to all the waffle, just press 1 for the main menu and 0 for an operator. You can expect to be waiting 15 minutes to be put through, but it is a very cheap call in comparison to the extortion line at the Embassy.
Note, sometimes the call volume is so much that you will get disconnected. Just keep trying if this happens.
    Good luck
