Dear All,

I have read on a few timelines that some people have actually sent packet 3 to their (in this case London) embassy before even recieving it from them, as they knew what was required of them.

After my previous post on here, with all your help I got a good list of what I think they will need for this packet, which I will list here:

DS156k

DS157

DS230i&ii

i-134 and accompanying material from petitioner

Revisted letter of intent from both parties

fresh proof of relationship information

..police certificate??? (I know I need this for my medical, do I add to this packet - may as well?)

*Medical results are sent seperatly from practioner*

Our case left NVC Vermont on 8th July, I already have my medical booked for 21st July, so I have a feeling my medical will be done before I get packet 3 from embassy.

The question is, do I send in my packet 3 before I get it from the embassy? DO I call to make sure they have the case and then I be ok to send? I have no idea what this packet, or usually just a letter looks like, can anyone post a copy of theirs on here, preferably from the London Embassy, or type out EXACTLY what it says - in the hope I can speed this process up?

Thank you in Advance

Jimmy and Nadine

Appologies - we are applying for K1 visa from Uk to USA, both previosuly unmarried.

A list of all the forms you need to send (including the link to the PDF to fill in) as "packet 3" and all the docs you have to gather for the interview is on

http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

Bear in mind that one of the forms says you have to submit the police certificate, affidavits etc with the form but for London you actually bring those to the interview and not send them ahead of time.

With regards to when to send I'm unfortunately not there yet but am planning to ring the DOS to find out when my case got logged in London and then send off the packet 3 docs and the readiness form - from what I understand you don't want your forms to arrive before your case got logged and if you send it special delivery they should arrive fairly promptly anyway.

Good luck!

PS - don't forget the cover letter for the readiness form!

Hi Jim&Nay, First of all you dont need to wait for packet 3. In fact my fiance actually never received his  All it is is a link as mentioned to the forms you need to print out and send here: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.htm

First thing to do is call the DOS at (202) 663-1225, press 1, then 0 to speak to a human then give them your LND number and ask them if London has logged your case. If they have then it is safe to mail in the forms. You can send it before your medical as long as it's logged.

Here is a list of what you need to send in if you have all your documents like police certificate, I-134 with supporting documents an your medical scheduled (thanks to VJ member Nick-Nich):

DS-2001 Readiness for Interview form

Include a cover letter with your email address and if applicable the date of your wedding and date of your medical examination. (Example below)

DS-230, part 1 (1 copy) (Sign it) That means only page 1-2. K1's do not need p.3-4

DS-156 (2 copies) (Sign it). It generates a barcode when you print it.

DS-156K (1 copy) (Do Not sign it) You sign at the interview. It’s an oath.

DS-157 (2 copies) (No signature)

That’s all that must be sent in. No personal documents like police certificate, I-134 or passport photos are mailed in despite what DS-156K says. London prefers to collect them at the interview. You don't need to send a new letter of intent or proof of a relationship. You can bring those to the interview but you can almost be certain they wont ask for them.

Thats it. Then you can pester the DOS and see if your packet three has been logged and if your medical has been logged after you have it and once they are pester them again to see if a interview date has been scheduled :)

Keep us posted and Best of Luck!!

EDIT: Nich-Nick beat me to it. I knew she would ;)

I forgot to send a covering letter with the 2001 form although I did write on it when my medical would take place.

Is this a huge error? Worried now :(
