Is horrible!!!! specially when I have to go Spain to visit my parents!! my dad has to pay almost 90 euros to get an official invitation for me, then mail it to me and I need to take that damn letter everywhere I go while in Europe. My husband and baby are process super fast plus no questions asked.
The last time we flew back from europe,my husband and baby passed through costumes in a blink while I had to stand with everyone else for almost 45 minutes. They had to wait for me in the car....I was so pissed

I'm throwing a bye bye USCIS party!! everyone is invited ahhahahahahah

I totally agree with that statement! I'll be glad this is the last step my wife needs to make. But to tell the truth, once she was here, none of the waiting was near as hard as it was before she arrived. The original visa wait is the biggest killer.

You talk about constitutional freedom but get your feathers ruffled when I speak my mind ? Really ?
Last time I checked free speech is part of my right as a USC.
America IS behind the times, behind most countries in regards to vacation time and that is a fact. Period.
Go ahead little worker bee and work your behind off 24/7, as for me my family time and my health is important. Your boss must love you.
People like you that can't stand any criticism about America to make it better and improve on what needs to be improved on hinder the real
progress, you love the status quo and remain stagnant.
As to you buying me a ticket, I am the USC and my husband is the immigrant so get your facts straight before you call me out.
Wanting to kick anyone out of the country who doesn't think like you is actually very un American, being a bully and just plain ignorant.
    Stop your turf pissing.

I'm the USC and my biggest adjustment has been having to explain to my wife's family that the entire country doesn't shut down for 2-3 weeks at the end of the year and that we can't visit every December because it would use every minute of my paid time off, every year. And, don't get me started on the 22 holidays/year they have off vs my 8!

I've looked at prior month Orlando cases and they seem to be averaging 5 and 6 weeks between "In Line" and sending out the interview letter and one more month to the interview date. My guess is that the interview letter will come in the last days of April or early May for an interview in early June.

USICS just updated their processing times for the Orlando office. As of Jan. 31, they are processing N-400s from August 25, 2015. Adding on another month and a half, they're probably on the 2nd week of Oct 2015 now (average). There aren't many Orlando filers in the previous months that I've seen but it does look that a couple of early October filers had their interviews in late Jan/early Feb so I hope some cases are running a little faster. My guess is late July or early August for the interviews here.
I just noticed there is a Dec 2015 Orlando filer who was in-line on 1/26 who has an interview date of 4/13. So, it looks like 2-1/2 months between the in-line date and the interview. Not too bad... At that pace, it'd be in June!

Just a reminder to anyone who has recently immigrated to the U.S. and is looking for work, a lot of employers have no clue what does and doen't count as an acceptable document. Mine just told me that I ***MUST*** deliver to them ASAP a copy of my (U.S.) birth certificate AND my Social Security Card in order to continue working, even though they were given a copy of my unexpired U.S. passport (along with the I-9) 8 months ago when I started. Of course, they were wrong and just came back to admit as much but only because I told them I wasn't going to waste my time looking for those documents.
ANY unexpired List-A document (U.S. Passport, LPR (Green) Card, I-551 stamp, EAD, etc.) stands alone and does not require the presentation of any other document to establish work eligibility.
I just wanted everyone to know that we ALL go through this sometimes, even those of us who were born in the U.S.

Why? The Conditional (2 year) GC is still valid for travel for 1 year with the NOA letter. You won't need AP to travel.

Leaving without having AP approved, constitutes abandoning the green card application, so she cannot leave and have it mailed to her. Nothing prevents her from traveling, but it does throw away everything you've already gone through. To start over, you'd be filing for a CR-1 visa, as now you're married.
As her grandmother is sick, you can attempt to get this expedited through your local USCIS branch. But it will need to meet the criteria required, if her grandmother is just kind of sick, will get better, and it would be nice to visit, it may not qualify. And you must prove the illness.
    http://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/travel-documents/emergency-travel
Let me be very clear, unless you want to start the visa process from scratch, she should not leave the country until she has the AP card in hand.

I think you are confusing the I-129F petition filing fee with the K-1 visa fee. They are separate and you will pay for both (assuming approval.)
To make you feel better, back in 2010, right after we filed, they dropped the I-129F filing fee from $455 to $340 and instead upped the K-1 visa fee from $131 to $350. Due to bad timing, we got to pay $115 more than the new rate (and $209 more than the amount when we filed.) It actually seems that the visa prices have come down some since then.

I've been a USC all of my life and I've had a new employer tell me that they still needed to see my SS Card after I showed them my US Passport (because it was easier than digging up that decades old SS Card.) I told them they didn't... The fact is many employers get used to the most common combinations of documents that they regularly see and refuse to accept that there are other, legally valid documents which they must accept.

My recommendation is to look at another agency and simply notify the local labor department of the complaint. That rectifies both situations amicably without imperiling your future pay check.

Exactly! You would win the battle by suing them but you would lose the war. And, even if they were forced to let you continue working there, it would only be until enough time had passed that they felt comfortable in finding a new reason to let you go. And, in at-will employment states (almost all of them), that reason can be just about any petty thing that they can think of.
On the other hand, knowing that this employer is willing to break the law by demanding documents that you are not required to supply to them in the face of clear, unambiguous, written documentation on the very same Federal form whose requirements they are claiming to uphold, I'd keep my options open and continue looking for a workplace that plays by the rules.

Most people do not wish to sue their potential employer. Which is why places like this get away with it.
