You will have a final checklist from NVC after the case completion. It will show the docs that are with NVC. When your wife visits the VFS, show it and appointment letter, passport etc. So, VFS will not bother about it.

If anything is missed (such as your PP office PCC), you have 2 options:

Submit it with your other documents to VFS, so that they will forward it to the Consulate

OR

Your wife can carry those documents directly to the Consulate

Act whichever method the Mumbai VFS says.

At VFS, pay Rs.387 and carry this receipt to the Consulate.

Medical - It is done separately, may be even after the VFS visit. Carry the sealed medical envelope as well to the Consulate.

For Medical, the below are needed:

1) Indian Passport

2) Medical Fee by cash

3) Interview Appointment Letter

4) 3 PP size photographs

5) Prior vaccination records, if any.

Thanks for the info. Have to ask my wife to find her vaccination records. Hoping she has it or else need to get blood test done to show what vaccinations she has had in the past.

What you need to send is Original plus a photocopy of the original. NVC will forward all the original documents to the embassy and keep the photocopy for their records.

LOTO Buddy. quick question. I am just figuring out the VFS office visit thing. I am reading the information/documents that VFS needs and it seems to be the same as what we submitted to NVC. Does that get forwarded to VFS and we submit anything else that is missing. Like the medical, Passport office pcc, the fees etc. Just wondering.

Got'cha... But didn't the beneficiary eventually end up filling up the same thing twice- once when sent right after the number got generated and once more after the NVC sends it? I was just wondering... it's not even that important as long as things move along.

No once you send them the email version and the IV bill shows up, you are all set. The beneficiary doesn't need to fill it out again. The email version is attached to your case number.

Email it. Doesn't hurt at all. I emailed them a day after I received my case number.

I got our NVC case number today... I'm super siked! I just sent in DS-3032 form info. Hopefully the NVC will accept my choice of agent even though I so impatiently sent in the DS-3032 info. Has this worked for many of you guys? I'm asking cause from what I understand this method of assigning an agent is not always accepted byt the NVC... or am I mistaking?

I did the same thing as you and it was accepted. I didnt get any emails confirming it but was able to pay IV bill. I think you should be ok.

Looked at it, faintly it is stamped cancelled. Did you mention in your cover letter (contents) as to why you included it (ie. cancelled due to name change)?

Also, with the passport pictures, did you put them in a bag similarly to the I-130 requirements?

No i didnt mention anything about the cancelled passport biodata page. Yes i did put the pics in a sandwich bag.

That cut basically means its canceled. Not sure if you Can copy and send it but just mention it in a letter That u changed ur name.

I tried to pay AOS this morning and just could not get the site to go to the next step...it let me select the payment I need to pay but after that i did not go anywhere anyone else experience this? Do I need to call NVC for assistance?

I happened to me as well. But I was using Google chrome and then when I tried On internet explorer it worked fine.

What the hell. I'll call NVC now to start of my Thursday. For sh**s and giggles, yo.

I get so discouraged when I see everyone's timeline and it say 10/20/10 - NVC case assigned and 10/21/2010 AOS bill generated. I'm happy for you but sad for me. It's been a week since they generated my NVC case number but no IIN yet.

Check my timeline as well. It did take almost a week or so before getting anything from them. You should get something today or tomorrow. Good luck.

Cancelled passport? Is that just because it expired? I have my old one from when I changed my name after marriage...should I include a copy of that too or just my current one?

When my wife went to get her name changed, they put a cancelled stamp on her old passport. So I just submitted that and a copy of the new one as well. Better safe than sorry I guess.

Update: AOS & IV package sent. Will be delivered on Friday. Now more waiting continues.

Am i missing anything? Did write with a blue pen o the back of the pics my wife's DOB, case number and name.

It is recommended to write a letter explaining the situation and highlight that it would be produced at the interview. Also, include the other PCC from the Police Station.

I am submitting the local police clearance even though it is not required for her. She just got her name on her passport last month so basically has a new passport.

OK guys and gals from Gujarat. I just spoke with a nice lady from NVC and she told me the following regarding the Passport office clearance:

NVC doesn't require a passport office clearance. They understand that passport office in Gujarat require an interview letter or a checklist.

My question to her after she said this was: Doesnt that mean I have to submit the PCC needs to NVC to get an interview date.

Her answer: No, the checklist will be sent with a letter A next to it which means that it can be taken to the interview.

My next question: Do i need to write a letter explaning why i am not including a passport PCC?

Her answer: NO nothing is needed and we completely understand the requirements for people from India. Just go ahead and send in your package.

Experts: should i just send in my DS230 package with a letter just in case? Please advise.

Now both the bills are PAID. Yay Yay :dance: Now just got to wait for Monday for my wife to go and try to get PCC.

Did you staple EVERYTHING together? I put paperclips on each set of documents (ie. paystubs together, I-864 together, etc..) Just wondering how picky they are about this stuff...

I stapled them. I read on the link provided on the receipt of AOS bill that was paid and it said staple it so did That.

We are doing the I-864EZ and only including 3 years of tax transcripts, employment letter and 6 months of pay stubs (.pdf print off, as my husband's employer does not do hard copies).

hey hey no vomiting ok. U should be relieved one package down See you are still ahead of me. But i am right there Anyway congrats on getting the cosponser and the AOS package being sent.

I am going to ship my AOS package on Thursday or Friday for delivery on Monday or Tuesday.

I'm not that familiar with the EZ but make sure Job titles match. If names are different on Bank Statement, Employment verification Letter and Check-stubs you might want to explain it in your cover letter. Not sure how close you are to the minimum income requirement. If you well over and you're not having a Co Sponsor then I think your good... If your close you might want to add personal property to your list. The AOS is simple really it the DS 230 that seems more difficult because your having to deal with other countries practices on top of the NVCs way of things.

Job Titles on the I864EZ match that on the Employment letter. Names are the same on all three documents but just doesn't have the middle initial. Dont think that is a problem. I am way over the minimum requirement so that is really not an issue. Thanks for the inputs Tom.
