  1. On the AVR it says the following for me:

The NVC received your documents on November 1st. Please allow 6-8 weeks from this date for the NVC to review your documentation and notify you of the outcome of the review."

So this tells me that they have recieved my DS230. Am I wrong based on the AVR messages info which says:

    DS-230 Receipt:

"The NVC has received the checklist letter response on ____________..." OR "The NVC received your documents on ____________. Please allow 6-8 weeks from this date for the NVC to review your documentation and notify you of the outcome of the review."

    Any ideas?

It doesn't matter what the AVR says or not says. An operator will be able to physically verify if your case was entered in to their system or not. You need to ask them the right questions, John.

I am so freaking lost and have no idea what to do. :crying:

  2. You never know whether it works or not if you keep debating about it. They are not going to deny your case just because you sent them an email. Just explain to them that you were told that it normally takes 2 weeks for the case to be entered in to their system and that it has been close to 4 weeks (even though it is not and it is more like 3 weeks). They have no way of verifying when you mailed except for the return receipt that you probably have from them. Also, mention to them that people who have sent it after you have their case entered in their system. Tell them you are really worried about your packet having not made it to their systems.

Also, follow it up by escalating your case to a supervisor next week.

Just spoke to an operator right now at NVC and she said it takes 2-4 to review you package and if there is nothing wrong then you case will be completed and sent to the embassy. Does that mean my case has been entered? I dont get these different AVR messages. I have to go back and find the link that Loto had posted.

  3. John,

I spoke to someone in NVC and they said it normally takes 1 to 2 weeks depending on the work load for your case to be entered in to the system after the mail room receives it. She also said if you have sent the packet a month back and it is not in the system, that could be a problem.

I would wait till the end of this week and by Monday of next week, if it is still not in the system escalate it to a supervisor. Keep calling NVC until you get an operator who is willing to help you.

Also, see if you can send an email ATTN:SUPERVISOR SUE (as she is the Mother Superior of all Supervisors at NVC) explaining your situation.

Good luck with your case and hope you hear something soon

    Thanks

Do you think that sending an email to SUE will work in this case? I was told that it would take 2-4 weeks so not sure if that's the case.

  4. John, John, John. Have you not learned anything by now? NVC always gives you the 2-4 weeks line on everything. Much like the same way USCIS says they're still processing March 19th's case files. It's corporate shenenigan. Once they have the AOS/IV in the system, it takes about a week or so to process them. Wtihout RFE, you can expect Case Complete in 10-12 days.

IS - I ahve learned that it is their standard answer but it seems that anything I send always takes more time. Its been 18 days since the packages were delivered and still they are not in the system. It is kind of frustrating that it takes this long to just open the stupid package and send to appropriate department. I am just mad right now thats about it. Sorry guys :(

  5. NVC has my AOS package into the system. They entered it in yesterday. Nov 8, 2010. Yay. It took 12 days for them to do that. The bio page that AVRS says is DS230 form. So NVC is waiting for my IV package. But it's sitting in their mailroom. Usually IV takes less time to enter into system then does AOS. So I'm hoping for one more good news this week. :)

I don't know about your embassy but I have heard that Dhaka embassy schedules interview through out the month. I'm might get a interview mid-December or later December. But then there's a bunch of holidays at the end of Dec. So it might be a early January interview. But for now, my stern hope is that it's a Decemer interview.

Your AOS and IV hasn't been entered into the system yet. Don't worry about the message. You just sit tight for now and wait for them to enter the AOS and IV. My AOS took 12 days since the day I sent it to be into the system. I'm still waiting on IV. So you're in this stage now. You sent your AOS on 10/22. Today is 11/09. So that's 19 days. Your AOS should've be in the system now. Call NVC and find out if it's in the system yet or not.

Just spoke to them and they said allow 2-4 weeks for us to review the sent package to see what's in it

My luck sucks nothing seems to happen on time

  6. @hunny - congrats on the interview date

@ Teya - Sorry to hear about your 2 RFEs. It shouldn't be that big of deal to fix question #25. But anyway, good luck and hope DS230 goes smoothly for you.

@ lady_bug - Sorry to hear about your RFE. Did you get any more details about it? If you did, maybe i missed it.

@Loto - Congrats buddy. Looks like your wife is heading here very close to the end of the year. Congrats again.

I am still waiting for them to review my files. Still says "NVC recieved you documents on Nov 1. Please allow 6-8 weeks to review blah blah blah blah"

  7. Tom!!! I don't think I'll be able to sleep waiting on ur updates and I don't even want to imagine what you're going tru!!! :bonk: Me, like others, LOVED the breakfast story too! Good luck with this whole emotional hassle! :star:

Thank you everyone for ur wishes and congrats! :star: You'll have to forgive my not being around but I am trying to fit a big part of my life in 2 suitcases! :bonk: As you might imagine - that is an impossible task for a woman!:whistle:

Good luck to Loto, IS, JD, Teya, tabndan, Kim, koaxaca1, lady_bug, thekfc, malvika, LADYDARE... who am I forgetting? Well, whoever you are - good luck to you too! :P:thumbs:

Thanks Mrs. D and Congrats. U r done with This miserable journey and I hope you guys have a great life together ahead.

  8. I hope u hear somthg soon. btw, my husband went to Surat Passport office 2day he was told tht bc of Diwali every1 is takin off so thy will send PCC prob next monday . Lets see. I must say that PCC process takes your patience level to stress level.

As long as he applied for it and you have it within a week, you should be OK. My wife didnt even try to get the PCC from Ahmedabad office as people are getting rejected at the gate. Might as well wait for the checklist and then get it. Good luck to you as well. :D

  9. JD, after they receive your document, they have to review it. During the review phase, they will generate the checklist and provide to you. I think you will hear it sometime next week.

Re: Ahamedabad PCC - I wish you best of luck to produce it to the Consulate. If NVC asks to provide it to them, it is some more delay.

    Loto

Thanks Loto. That's what I am praying for. Lets just wait and watch now. I want to get this SIF/CC before November 24th when I go back to see my wife. :)

  10. Thanks JD (F)

I am hearing for your SIF and CC too.

    Loto

Loto - My SIF/CC will take a while because i still have to wait for a checklist for the darn Passport office PCC. Hoping that they take a look at the letter i wrote and just give me a checklist to provide it at the interview.

AVR says they received documents on November 1st. So i am assuming I should get a checklist by next week. What do you think?

  11. John- I think I might be sending out my IV package today :)

Sam- The final decision about the AOS is made solely by the CO during the interview at the Embassy/Consulate. You should be fine but if you have something else like assets to help your case, you might want to include those as well. All of it depends on if you get a nice person or a hard person for the interview. I'm not trying to scare you again, just trying to let you know the real answer.

While NVC is sooooo much better than USCIS, many operators will give you different answers about the same question. As you can find on here, there have been cases where NVC says the papers are just fine but the CO says otherwise (because they alone have the final say). Those cases rarely happen and are usually at the tougher consulates but it is a good idea to keep this in mind.

Congrats to those who are moving right along!!!

Thats good news Teya. Getting towards those final steps. Really happy for you :D

  12. JD, Did you confirm that both packages are received by NVC?

    Loto

I did call and they said they received it but haven't looked at it yet. They just received it today. So they said 2-4 weeks and I know i should be getting a checklist for the PCC. So no interview for another 4-6 weeks after checklist. So either Jan end or Feb.

Any word on Jesal I havent heard from him in a while. I know he went to India but though he would have gotten on line by now.

Jesal is enjoying his time with his wife. He should be getting an interview soon if not this month next month.
