  1. Hey Loto,

Congrats bro on your early December interview date and best of luck with the interview.

Had a little bit of a bad day today, got hit on the rear of my car by a guy whose brakes failed. Nothing major. Just have to get it repaired (mostly bumper and a small dent on the trunk, very drivable though).

Hope you have got your India tickets all booked now and hope you got good rates. Also, check out jetairways.com and use promotion code JACCIN for good prices. I just booked my tickets to India for December 3rd. Will be there for a couple of months and plan to be back late Feb/early March. I guess you are traveling a week after me.

I hope to get SIF by month end before leaving so if there is an sort of RFE, I can take care of it before leaving.

Hopefully it all works in the end :)

Hope you get ur SIF soon as well. I am going to india on November 24th and booked my tickets way in advance so got a decent deal.

  2. So we called NVC today, found out that they aren't too up on the DS-260 and we have to fill out the DS-230 and send it to them. So as I'm filing this out now, I have some questions:

#31a. Person named in 14 accompanying who will accompany you to the U.S.

-is it N/A since my husband is already in the U.S.? Yes I would say put N/A as you are the only one traveling to US.

#32. Past employments...I have to list them from the last ten years, I have the present 6 years accounted for but the last 4 is when I was in university..do I just put STUDENT? I dont think you would have to put student. Just employment history for as long as your worked. For my wife's case, I just put in the few months she worked. The other dates for university should be taken care of under #33

#33. Schools...how far back to I go? Do they just want high school, university...or do I include elementary school? I would go from elementary on to college. Better to have everything than getting a RFE.

I would say put NONE instead of N/A.

    Loto

    Change of name i c...good one :)

  4. Update: I just called NVC to see if I can get any additional information about my case. The lady said that "your case has been completed and now we are waiting to schedule an appointment based on the consulate load. Please call back next week Tuesday and we can let you know if you have gotten an interview date or no in December".

i know Mumbai consulate is really really busy and takes 1.5-2 months at the minimum. So doubt it will happen in December but January, 2011 looks good for me.

  5. Oh man, I wanted an RFE for you for that Guj PCC issue  Anyway, it didn't happen :crying:

Just kidding :) I am so happy for you, JD  Great news

Happy re-union before the new year!

    Loto

LOL!!! Going to see her in 14 days anyway so it should be a good re-union. But would like her to come back with me if possible. Lets see. I heard that they have started scheduling December interviews but doubt I will make it to the list. Mumbai Consulate has a 1.5-2 months wait just like Chennai. So lets see.

  6. Update: I was just bored right now and check to the NVC payment portal for the heck of it. And to my surprise i got a SIF. I didnt believe it at the first try, entered information again, got SIF again. didnt believe it again, did this 4 times and then had my wife try it as well and got the same result. SIF!!!!! Just to make sure i call the AVR to check what it says on there and i heard the

Your Case was completed on November 10, 2010. Please allow 8 weeks for further instructions.

I dont get it how i got the SIF without a checklist. I didnt submit my passport office PCC. I am hoping that I get an interview letter and checklist for it to take to the interview. Is there a chance for December Interview? PRAYING PRAYING PRAYING.

Thanks for your help everyone. really appreciate it.

  7. Wow spoke to the worst operator ever..she was in such a hurry. But she did provide me the information finally saying that they received the AOS package with tax returns and blah blah blah. I asked about the IV package and she said call back in 2-4 weeks. I guess i keep calling everyday now as it seems that my packages have been entered into the System on Nov 1st. Yay!!!! almost 2 weeks r going to be done this friday. So starting next week I will be calling more frequently. LOL!!

    Thanks Svenkatc for the help.

  8. Does anyone know the AVR messages according to steps?

    1) NVC Assigns a Case#: This case was entered in the NVC computer system on ____________. The case number assigned by the NVC is (Case #). Please allow 6-8 week from this date for the beneficiary to receive the documents

    2) DS3032/ AOS Fee Bill Generated: NVC will mail...the beneficiary..." OR "DS3032 and AOS Fee Bill has been generated on____________."

    3) DS3032 Entered in the System: NVC has received the DS3032, Choice of Agent and Address form on____________. Please allow 4-6 weeks before you will be notified by NVC.

    4) AOS Fee Processed: NVC has received the DS3032, Choice of Agent and Address form on____________, and will send further instructions within the next few weeks..

    5) IV Fee Bill Generation: The Immigration Visa Fee Bill letter has been generated on____________, and will be sent within the next few weeks..

    6) IV Fee Bill Processed: NVC has received IV fee bill on ____________. and will send further instructions within next few weeks.

    7) DS-230 Generation: NVC is expecting return of the biographic forms by the petitioner..

    8) DS-230 Receipt: The NVC has received the checklist letter response on ____________..." OR "The NVC received your documents on ____________. Please allow 6-8 weeks from this date for the NVC to review your documentation and notify you of the outcome of the review."

9)Case Complete: your Case was completed on____________. Please allow 8 weeks for further instructions...

    10) Case Forwarded to Embassy: The NVC has completed the case and forwarded it to the Embassy or Consulate in.

    Does this sequences sound right?

  9. That certainly would indicate they have entered one of the two packets (mostly the IV) in their system. Call NVC and ask them the below questions,

    1) Has my AOS packet been entered in to your system ?

    2) Has my IV packet been entered in to your system ?

That's exactly what I keep asking but I get the same answer "allow 2-4 weeks for NVC to review your package and then they will mail you a checklist or your case well be completed and sent to the embassy"
