  1. I went to this Civil Surgeon on Monday.

    Dr. C.E. Michael Oldenburg

    Twin Cities Medical Clinic

    3264 W. Lake Street

    Minneapolis, Minnesota 55416

    United States

    612-285-9996

    Cost: Total $80

($25 for Immigration Processing Fee, $55 for Vaccine Update)

    Vaccine Transcription only available: y

    Turnaround time: Same day

I have called earlier to book the appointment date, and emailed the clinic my DS-3025 in advance.

Told to get another shot of MMR before the appointment date, cheaper price at local public health department.

Went to CVS Minute Clinic instead, paid $67 for the MMR shot.

On the appointment date, the I-693 form was filled up, signed, sealed in an envelope. Given a copy of the original I-693 form too.

Good and fast services, understand what I need for the I-693 :)

  2. Hi, I'm gathering documents to file for adjustment of status from K1 status.

I have enough problems from the missing NOA2 already.

Another unique situation of mine, is that I have 2 K1 Visa - 1 Original K1 Visa and 1 reissued K1 Visa.

    My timeline

12/24/2009 Entered US on K1 Visa, I-94 was stamped to valid till 03/24/2010

01/18/2010 Due to work emergency, returned home without getting married within 90 days

02/24/2010 K1 Visa reissued at US Consulate based on 9 FAM 41.81 N6.3 Reissuance of K-1 visa

K1 Visa expiration date 03/23/2010. US Consulate officer said I must go over to US and get married before 03/23/2010.

03/11/2010 Entered US on reissued K1 Visa, I-94 was stamped to valid till 10 Sep 2010

03/19/2010 Got Married, within the 90 days counting from the first US entry 12/24/2009 on original K1 visa

Should I do a write up in my AOS packet to explain why I have 2 K1 Visa stamps in my passport?

Will the USCIS understand the situation or will it cause more problems for me??

In I-485 form, Part 3: Processing Information, for Nonimmigrant Visa number, put in the latest K1 visa number?

  3. We went for an Infopass appointment yesterday. The local officer said that my K1 visa stamp in the passport is the best proof that the Fiancee I-129F petition has been approved. He said it is almost guaranteed that I won't have problem with AOS. He also printed out from his system to show our case status process, that the petition had been approved on March 26th, 2009 and the approval notice was sent out which we didn't receive. If only the USCIS people are so understanding like what the officer said....

Previously, the USCIS case status website still showed that our case is still under Initial Review. Yesterday, received an email from USCIS (The last processing action taken on your case) that Current Status: Approval notice sent on March 26, 2009. After so much complaints, now that the USCIS updated the case status online.

Thus I guess I have to do a write up to explain the whole situation, and in lieu of the I-797 approval notice, I will submit NVC letter, Infopass letter, US Consulate processing K1 visa letter, my K1 visa stamps. Hopefully there will be no RFE. Keeping my fingers crosssed now.

  4. Another member had a similar issue, maybe some of you can help me remember/dig up the thread - Hannah & Vito? Hanna + Vito or something? It's in this forum.

She had the same issue and did get her green card in the end, but I don't remember the specifics.

    Edit: Found it.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/191816-aos-without-noa2/page__p__2846619__fromsearch__1#entry2846619

Hopefully that thread can help you.

    Thanks, Nik+Heather, for your link.

I got my Husband to call up the National Customer Service 1 (800) 375-5283, because he is the Petitioner. Basically, they told him that the system showed the form I-797 Approval Notice was send in March 2009 but we never received it! We could file I-824 form Application for Action on Approved Petition or Application(costs $340 and takes a few months!) and include a letter saying we shouldn't pay because we never received the form, whether or not they will accept it is up to whoever receives the form.

So what's now? I want to file for I-485 asap before my I-94 expires!

Can I just send in the Letter from State Department's National Visa Center, dated April 6, 2009, that it has received an approved I-129F petition filed on behalf of your fiance(e), together with my K1 visa on my passport, US Consulate processing letter, to prove that the I-129F has been approved?

  5. We never got the NOA2 from USCIS, instead received a letter saying that the State Department's National Visa Center has recently received an Approval I-129F petition filed on behalf of your fiance. The letter was dated April 6, 2009. While reviewing the I-485 form, it needs submission of a copy of the fiance petition approval notice, marriage certificate and I-94.

I am already in US using the K1 visa, got married within 90 days, now trying to file the AOS paperwork. It seems that it is very troublesome to contact USCIS for the missing NOA2 Approval Notice, and expensive to pay $340 for duplicate form which could take another few months! Strangely, I checked that the USCIS case status still showing our Form I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) is under Initial Review!!! I am at lost what to do. We have already been through at lots of stress for the K1 visa reissued problems, finally got married successfully in US last week. Now the missing NOA2 is giving me headache. Please advise what is the best way for me to do for the AOS.

    Thank you very much.

  6. Merrtooth - this is a hard one to call, hard to guess.

If the K-1 is revalidated in Singapore (Yay Curry Laksa ! ) then the dates SHOULD shift.

    I say SHOULD ...

The regs you quoted say otherwise, though.

Have yer USC person getting ready for the civil ceremony at a courthouse - that'll be the fastest for you two - then have a wedding ceremony later in a church (if you still want)

    good luck !! (Hurry Hurry ! )

    Hello Darnell,

I don't understand what you mean by "The dates should shift" ? Still stick within the 90 days limitation from my first entry to US on 24th Dec 2009?

We will have simple marriage solemnization asap and ceremony/reception at much later date.

  7. As long as you get to the US prior to the K-1 expiring, you should be ok - they will give you 90 days from that entry (which is used to get married in)

Just try to get married before the I-94 expiration. You should endeavor in getting the AOS done soon after.

Sounds like you haven't entered the US yet?

Yes, I haven't enter the US yet. My K1-visa will be a reissued one, so I have a very tight schedule to complete my marriage before 23th March 2010 (within the 90 days limitation). Filing of AOS will be passed the 90 days.

Since my K1-visa is reissued by the US Embassy, I won't have problem with airport US Immigration Customs, right?

I am very worried about that. :(:(:(

  8. I am foreign fiancee of US Citizen. I entered US on 24th Dec 2009 on K1 Visa. Due to work emergency, I have to leave US before getting married, on 18th Jan 2010. It was really unfortunate because we didn't know if I can still enter back US on K1 visa again. OR we need to restart the K1 I-129F petition again.

After searching forums online, managed to get the information about reissuance of K-1 Visa.

    9 FAM 41.81 N6.3 Reissuance of K-1 Visa

    (TL:VISA-2; 08-30-1987)

If a K-1 visa, valid for a single entry and a 6-month period, has already been

used for admission into the United States and the alien fiancé(e) has

returned abroad prior to the marriage, the consular officer may issue a new

K visa, provided that the period of validity does not exceed the 90th day

after the date of initial admission of the alien on the original K visa and

provided also that the petitioner and beneficiary still intend and are free to

marry. The aliens return to the United States and marriage to the petitioner

must take place within 90 days from the date of the original admission into

the United States in K status.

I applied for the reissuance of K-1 Visa at my country Singapore US Embassy. Before that I have to resubmit all the forms and documents based on the K1 visa checklist again => I-134 Affidavit of Support, New Police Record and New Medical Report. Freaking nervous attending the interview US embassy, expecting the worst.

However, after intense questioning, US Embassy agreed to re-issue me K1 Visa. Will be collecting my passport next week.

Based on the rule of Reissuance of K-1 Visa: My Fiance and I have to get married within 90 days from my original admission into US (24th Dec 2009), meaning get married before 23th March 2010.

I want to know if there will be any problem at the Airport US Immigration Customs when I fly over to Minnesota?

Since the US Embassy reissued me the K1-visa, there should not be any problem.

But I am very worried. Please advise. :(:(:(

  9. Hi,

I am based in Minneapolis and need to have a complete medical exam for the I-693 form. I was wondering if anyone in the MN area has done the full medical at any civil surgeon. The cheapest I found was Dr. Rwoof A. Reshi, Reshi Medical in West Saint Paul that charges 139.

Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks...

    Hello,

Do you have your medical exam for I-693 form done by Dr. Rwoof A. Reshi, Reshi Medical in West Saint Paul that charges 139? Or you have found others which are charging way cheaper than that?

I am going to file for AOS soon after K1 visa marrige in March. Thus I also need to find a Civil Surgeon in Minneapolis to do the I-693 form for AOS.

  10. Thanks for the list of CS!

Has anyone try this CS in Minnesota before? Can share the medical experiences encountered?

I will need to file for AOS soon after K1 visa marriage, need to find a CS in Minnesota that able to trancribed the information from DS-3025 to I-693 form, to be on the safe side

  11. According to the I-693 instruction Page 4 Section III frequently asked questions, I am a K1 immigrant visa holder, already had a medical exam overseas. If I have received medical examination prior to admission, I don't need another medical examination when filing the adjustment of status for green card is within 1 year of the overseas examination, and no class A medical condition.

My DS-3025 VACCINATION DOCUMENTATION WORKSHEET is completed, I got my TB Xray results, blood test results, just need a civil surgeon to trancribed the information to I-693 form, to be on the safe side.

But the civil surgeons in my areas I called so far in Minnesota, said I have to do a new exam.

Meaning I have to redo the blood test, TB X-ray stuff?

Any civil surgeon in Minnesota Metro area for recommendation to do the DS-3025 information transcribed to I-693 only?

Application for Marriage License in Minnesota needs 5 waiting days. I think we could manage to get married within the K1 90 days limitation.

I got confusing information regarding about adjustment of status after marriage from various forums / website.

Must I file for AOS (I-485) before K1 / I-94 expired? which I think is not possible for my case due to so tight schedule and it take time to collect all the necessary documents before filing I-485 and I-864.

Some said it is ok to to file AOS (I-485) even if I-94 / K1 has expired as long we got married within the K1 visa stated 90 days limitation.

Which one is correct about filing AOS(I-485)?

What will happen since I will be out of status (illegal) then?

After weeks of constant worried about the reissuance of K1 visa for travel back to US, I am now very stressed up over the application of AOS in time before K1 and I-94 expired. :(:(:(

    Please advise! Thank you!
