Just got my approval email! "On January 2, 2013, we ordered production of your new card." WOO. We're out of the country for the next few weeks, so hopefully the 10-year card will be waiting when we get back.

I know this is really off topic, but how was Bora Bora? Did you go through an agency or book your own trip? Any tips?
My husband and I wanted to do Bora Bora for our honeymoon, but decided we couldn't afford it. I think we'll go in a year now that we've saved some money.
Just a quick report on traveling with Expired GC along with the Notice of Action.
My hubby and I went on our belated honeymoon to Bora Bora and came back yesterday.
I had no problem with check-in in Tahiti Int'l Airport. The lady asked me for my passport and GC and then told me that the card is expired. I intentionally just showed those two documents in the beginning. Then, showed her the letter explaining that it states my GC has been extended.
At the LAX airport, I had no problem neither. The officer said "your GC has been extended, right?" while looking at my letter and I said yes.
That's it. It was super easy

Just wondering - has anyone traveled internationally with their paper green card extension yet? We haven't, but will soon. I was curious if it's all easy or you can get delayed by officials who don't believe the extension paper as much as the shiny card.

We're the losers that missed our bio appointment. Well, we went to the biometrics place first thing this morning, and they took my husband's fingerprints. We told them we were late - it didn't seem to be a problem. Looks like we're ok. Whew!
Our actual biometrics appointment was scheduled for 6/28/2012. I added it to the Google Doc.

Is anyone else who received their NOA1 unable to add it to their USCIS website portfolio via their Application Receipt Number:? I know it takes a few days for their system to catch up, but it's been awhile now and still I'm getting:
Validation Error(s)You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
- Customer Portfolio Insert Failed
- Attempting to add a case that does not exist. Check the application receipt number.

Hang in there, hun. No NOA1 for us yet, either. We were wanting to go back to England in time for my husband's birthday in August, so I feel your pain.
As long as you have your expired Green Card and the NOA1, you're fine to travel. That letter will extend your right to work and travel for one year after the GC expires.

Hello everyone,
My wife and step son's Conditional GC's expire on August 9, 2012. I sent out the I-751 package with a ton of evidence on May 16, 2012 to the VSC which arrived at the VSC on the 18th of May with a confirmation USPS receipt. Today is the 4th of June and I have not received anything nor has the check been cashed.

Hey Nelson - I added you to our Google Doc. You can see the other VSC filers on there with dates around yours. I wouldn't worry. You'll see many filers around your time haven't received their NOA1's either, and only one person who sent their packet after you has heard back. I bet you'll hear this week!

Please, May filers, when your case is updated, it'd be awesome if you could go to the Google Doc and add your new info. This system means there's always one place to go to see everyone's status and we don't need to continually repaste a spreadsheet in this forum - more important now that it's getting very long! But, it's difficult for me to keep that Google Doc up-to-date on my own, so I appreciate you guys adding your info as it comes in. Thanks so much everyone!

Our application is sent! I got all the bells and whistles - tracking, delivery confirmation, etc. Let's see how long it takes my husband to say "oh... were we supposed to... send something for immigration?"

I looked at the amount and type of stuff that was submitted by people and it seems like alot and some of it seems not to have anything to do with proof of an ongoing relationship.
I only included that information and documents that showed joing ownership, connection or something that has both our names on it.
I think co-mingling of expenses and living are the most important things to show: documents that prove your money is shared, your private accounts (like health insurance) are shared, and you live together. Photos are secondary evidence.

Hey May filers -
It's awesome to see everyone's progress, but pasting and re-pasting the spreadsheet seems inefficient. It means a new post with a new spreadsheet every time there's a change, and it's harder to have a discussion when so many posts are taken up with the spreadsheet. How would people feel about moving to a Google Document that we can all edit? That way there's always one place with the most current information, and people can discuss in this thread more easily.

I get that this process can be difficult for people. I get that people sometimes are defrauded, or not ready, or are given nasty surprises in the process. It happens. But there are actual, legitimate, ready couples that only have this process to rely on to be together.
My husband and I dated for 5 years, long distance, before applying for a K1 visa. We traveled to each other's countries every three months. We spent every holiday together. We knew each other's families and friends. We vacationed together, talked online every day, and counted down the years, months, and then days when we would finally be together.
Frankly, if couples enter the K1 visa process unready or not knowing each other well enough, that's their fault - not the fault of the visa process. I wish more people would enter immigration with more seriousness. The K1 is not a "let's see how we get on" visa, it's an intent-to-marry-and-immigrate visa. It's for people who know they want to begin a life together, not to try out a vacation and see how it goes.
Sorry to sound harsh, but after all the waiting and restless nights to see find out if this or that packet and submission was approved, I don't have much sympathy for people who enter into this process without seeming to know if marriage is what they want.
