Approaching 30 days since NOA date and no biometrics letter yet...last update on my cases is still 04/07- nobody has looked at them for 3 weeks. Really wondering why it's moving so slow I know it's TPS and the volcano issue but it seems to still be moving fast for most March filers
It took us quite awhile to get the biometrics letter as you can see from my timeline. There have been other people that waited a full 6 weeks. Once you hit 30 days from NOA1 the customer service at the main line MIGHT put in an SR for you. Don't worry, they are generally being slow right now and it isn't an indicator that there's a problem with your case. In fact, we got our biometrics letter generated AFTER our case was transferred to CSC.

Hey all,
We sent AOS/EAD/AP applications in March and got the 3 NOAs on March 25th. We received biometrics appointment for the EAD, but we haven't yet received a separate biometrics appointment for AOS.
Are we supposed to do 2 biometrics appointments (1 for AOS; 1 for EAD)? Have other March filers done separate biometrics for both?
Thanks and good luck to everyone!
Some of the January and February filers ended up with two biometrics appointment. Carry in the appointment letter plus all of the NOA1s and see if that helps you avoid a second trip in.

finally after 48 days of waiting my biometric showed up in the mail box,,, does anyone here experienced a walk in biometric in USCIS Fort Worth?
YAY!! What day is your appointment scheduled for? Ours in 5/3 and Dave wants to wait for it.

Well, I traveled to Colombia and married Angie (this should remove any issues of validity of our relationship) now we are ready to start the CR-1 process and cannot afford to pay another $2,0000 (my lawyer said he did his job but we didn't move forward so we start from 0) we have been reading all the guides but my lawyer informed that now I have to explain why we didn't move forward with the K-1 petition before we even start the CR-1 process, please any help will be greatly appreciated
Eddie and Angie
You might also find more advice in the Latin America, Mexico and Carribean Forum. Especially regarding the interview. Some countries have interview processes that have better endings when the USC accompanies the non-USC spouse. I'm not sure if Columbia is that way, but it's worth looking into if it will help your case out.

Good luck!

Can someone who has actually had to call their Senator and make use of them to HELP with their immigration process, please take the time to explain the everyone WHEN and WHY you should call a Senator to help your case?
Quite frankly, almost every thread has someone offering the advice of "call your senator" now, and it's doesn't even make sense WHY it would be said 99.9% of the time when I see it.
1) The case is 30 days beyond timelines posted on USCIS website
2) RFE has been issued but there is confusion over it
3) Interviews at embassies have gone horribly wrong and they won't tell you what's going on
4) Immigration Officers have said inappropriate things regarding your case

It just jumped straight from "Initial Review" to "Document Production"; I guess I can't complain too much about an AOS that took less than two months overall
Good luck to the rest of you pending adjustment, I hope you get a surprise like this shortly
So happy for you!! I hope CSC starts approving more and more each day.
Three transfers in three days is GREAT news. Especially since they practically took a month off.
-
Thanks for all your support and I wish the best for all of you. (oh...she DID take out the I94 in the beginning, but handed it back to him.)
Jackie
That sounds horrible. I hope your second interview goes much better! Don't let this ruin your day. Perhaps your husband has a name that is the same or close to somebody elses and they have made a mistake. Either way, the truth will always come out and everything will have to be sorted out before there is a final ruling. Good luck Jackie!!

Touch, with a text notification on the AOS (I-485), no update to status.
I'm so excited for you.
Can't wait to find out what it is. CSC is finally moving so I hope they are starting to rush through a bunch of approvals. Woohoo for all of us. We're more than half way done with the wait by now I hope!!
-
Hmmmmm touched today also, day after biometrics. I assume that is when they put on a top shelf for month or 2 LOL.
Hopefully not! I am crossing my fingers and hoping something happens to my husbands case in the 3-5 weeks. I see CSC is beginning to process transfers again. YAY! Anytime now.

I am not in panic mode YET...
I'm assuming you are the female US Citizen. If I'm wrong then please forgive me. I was very much like you. Every little thing freaked me out.
This is the fast part. The London embassy took FOREVER to open their mail, send out P3, open their mail, then schedule an appointment. Really it was all stuff that should have taken 2-3 days tops, but the London embassy can take 2-3 weeks for each of those tasks.
I advise you to get the police cert in hand soon if you can. Also look at all of the other UK requirements. Get some pictures of your last visit printed and ready to show at interview just in case. Get the US passport size photos next time you are around somewhere that offers that service. Also, call IRS and get your tax transcripts so you can fill out the support documents you need to.
See the GP now and get the required shots sorted out. We had to get the last two shots here and then had to pay the civil surgeon to fill out a form. My husband tried to get the shots the week before the move and the GP did not have them in stock. They would have needed to order them in and it could have taken a week or two I suppose. It would have been better if my husband would have had all of his shots before he went to the visa medical.
Also, if your fiance has any health issues he can start working with the doctor now to get documentation that they will not be a problem.
Be prepared for the UK Citizen to travel to London TWICE! The first time Dave went he was able to make an afternoon appointment for the medical. He was able to take the train and get there on time and then catch the train back to Scotland. The second time he had to book a room and get to the embassy in the morning.
Hope that helps! Those were things that I wish I had known. I will PM you with more.

Umm, maybe they accept walk ins only if they are not too busy? Was it crowded when you went? Hope you can do it next week! Looking at your timeline, I feel better about how long it could take for the biometrics letter to get to California...my last touch is 04/07 then nothing!
Good luck to you for your appointment and to all March filers for a quick AOS
Our package was delivered to Chicago on 3/12 and we received our biometrics letter on 4/16. You might have a wait as everything is slowed down right now with the TPS issues.

This may mean nothing, but I just signed in and saw that there was another touch, today, on my I-485. Go VJers!
I read this and checked ours. We have a touch today too. So it has been touched on the 12th, 16th and 19th. Probably just moving the files around. YAY either way!
-
Hello!
We got the biometrics letter in the mail today!!
Appt 5/6
No touch, no update, no text no nothing.
Just letter in the mail!
YAY!
We received the letter today too. The appointment is May 3rd. Now to go home and convince the non-US spouse that walking in early is a GOOD thing.
-
Got a text message and email this morning @ 9:15AM, also received the "Transfer Notice" hard-copy in the mail
We also got the text this morning with the same message for our AOS. We are in the mountain time zone and it came at 7:15. Sounds like it was a batch update!
Our EAD has had no touches since 4 days after NOA1. No biometrics letter yet either. We can call and set up an SR on Monday the 26th if we still haven't heard anything about it.
-
Your case got transferred to CSC already?? Woohoo! Congrats! I doubt mine will be transferred w/o interview but hopefully at least no RFE.
Didn't end up going to the ASC this morning to try a walk-in. The ASC is on the other side of town (~30 min drive) so I might just be patient and wait until the appointment date. Besides, I've got lots of work to do
Sorry confuse, no Dave didn't get his biometrics letter yet. I think you are next in line. I'm excited that your daughter's papers were touched. Hopefully that means biometrics for you. Trust me I will pm you as soon as I hear anything on our case!!
ALW, Yes on the transfer! I'm excited that something happened. It's too bad the VJ list makes CSC look like there are no transfer AOS being approved. I almost wish that we would have had an interview now. I hope the paperwork flies through for you after your biometrics are done.

In all my excitement of getting the receipts (that was a while ago), I wrote a how to guide:
http://alien2citizen.blogspot.com/2010/03/guide-how-to-check-your-case-status-on.html
Hopefully it'll be helpful to someone.
In other news, I FINALLY (1 month and 2 days after the receipt date) received my biometrics appointment letter today!!! I was already looking up how to schedule an infopass to check and stuff this morning and voila, it was sitting in our mailbox this afternoon when my husband picked up the mail. My hubby knew that I've been waiting for it so he was very proud to be the carrier of good news/letter
The last time my I-130 was updated was 3/25/2010 and all other three were last updated 4/1/2010. The notice date was 4/9/2010. So if some of you are still waiting for your appointment letter, do not despair! (Everybody on this board seems to be getting theirs much fast than mine, so I was definitely worried!)
YAY! There's quite a few us of it sounds like. Have fun at the biometrics. One step closer to being done!!
-
you think jewel? that update is not mine though,, its the update for my daughter mine is still the same.... i am very confuse of this upadtes,, and today i check the status of my daughter its been touch again... but the status is still the same...
How strange! Maybe they approved it contingently based on yours getting approved? They do not require biometrics for her since she is under 14. Any progress is good progress.
YAY for her online update either way.
-
both I485 and I765,, and it has been updated today too...
WOW!!! I hope everything is on it's way for you then. That is an awesome update!
-
We received our NOA on Febuary 26th and still have not received our Bio appt letter. I called today and the only thing they did was open a service request ... couldn't give us any other information ... we are defiantly beyond 30 days now.
Did they give you a timeframe for how long the SR might take? Are you thinking of doing an infopass? Good luck! I'm glad you made some progress.
-
Thank you everyone. Jewel-8, pls keep me updated. We ARE in very similar situation! BTW How do you know your case has been transferred? Does it show up online? Mine hasn't even shown that yet =(
btw yes I'm currently on work visa, but I filed AOS based on my husband (US citizen), so I think I'm in the right forum?
Thanks!
Yes, I will keep you posted! I knew our case was transferred because yesterday afternoon I received a text telling me to check the online system. The last touch on EAD was 3/29, last touch on AOS was 4/12 saying case was transferred 4/9.
You might not be in the right forum because below there is one that says "ADjusting from work, school, somethingsomething". Still, THIS question applies to those of us in the adjusting from family based visa forum as we are having the same problem. For issues specific to the work visa you originally entered the US on you should ask there.
Good luck to all of us waiting!!!

Hi,
I sent USCIS the package (chicago Lockbox) on March 16. On March 26 I received all four receipts. Then on March 29 there was a touch on my case. I've been waiting for the biometrics appt letter ever since, but so far I have not gotten anything. =(
I really need to get my EAD card ASAP, since I'm heavily interviewing and need to start ASAP once I do get an offer (I need to relocate to my hubby's city). I called USCIS and they didn't even wanna hear it. They just said well it can take up to 30 days. But from what i see, people usually get their appt letter within a week of receiving the NOAs... Is this normal?? What should I do... =( And I heard if I don't get the EAD within 60 days of filling, i can ask to expedite, is that correct?
Thank you so much!
Ours was received in chicago on March 12th. The NOA was March 25. We are right there with you. The last touch on the EAD and AOS was 3/29 before the transfer. Now the EAD still shows 3/29. Dave called yesterday since it was 30 days from delivery, they told him to call 30 days from NOA1 date.
There is also another March filer I have been talking to that has an NOA1 date that they 30 days are almost up also. I think processing has just slowed down.
-
The USCIS website worked fine for us from 2-3 when we received the text message and update. Now I am getting an error message from the website as well.
-
The number on my check was different to the number given to me in the email/texts. It happens. It was also take a day or so for your case numbers to be entered into the system so you can see them on the USCIS site.
The number on my check ended in 1. The AOS AND EAD had nearly consecutive numbers to the number on the back of my check. AOS ended in 2 and EAD ended in 5.
-
GOOD NEWS!! Maybe?
I just got a text a half hour ago telling meto check our online status. AOS says transferred to CSC. EAD doesn't say anything.
We have now gone 30 days after filing with no Biometrics letter. Our last touch before this was 4 days after the check was cashed. So maybe the letter was lost in the mail? Dave will be calling USCIS and getting them to submit an SR. If this fails then maybe we will schedule an Infopass.
I'm really very anxious about not getting the Biometrics letter yet though. 31 days past receipt and 18 days from NOA1. If he fails to show up for Biometrics they will consider us to have abandoned the case?? ARGH. I'm so scared about losing that $1010. Cash is getting tight.
Love you all!! Will give an update about biometrics whenever I hear anything.
