  1. You will not be allowed to work in the Philippines with a 13a visa

False!!! I have a 13a and im legally working , i live and work in the philippines so yes get the 13a it will save you a lot of visa fees and issues in the long run

After 1 year on probationary you can petition it to perm resident

I'm a perm resident of the philippines now days, thanks USCIS!

  2. Oh well, I just found out today they don't have land line. I ask her how she talked to her mother and she told me her brother had a cell phone her mother would use. Anyway, we are leaving her laptop there, and maybe they can talk some on YM or something. I am just afraid the computer will not last that long without her there to take care of it. I checked into google voice and it is 15 cents per minute to cell and 10 to land line. Can't afford to talk everyday at that rate.

Its free to sign up for google voice , and then have her log in the account and call you, its free calls to the usa and canada. I call the usa all the time for free from the philippines from my usa google voice account.

  3. I would highly suggest researching the topic heavily. i don't think i would go just too see relatives. Why not fly them up and meet somewhere nice, and make it like a vacation for them instead? Davao has cheap condos with swimming pool and more .

That way you meet them, you are safe, and its like you are doing something nice for them at the same time, its a win win

  4. So if I had a steady income of 2600 dollars a month, I could live comfortably in the PI and not work ? Not in Manila but say in Cebu outside the city ?

If you live in the provinces, you can do it on a lot less than that, Some people live very well on 1,500 dollars a month and live on the beach

So yeah, for 2,600 a month in the province you would be fairly well off.

You would not need to work at all if you make at least 1,500 dollars a month. You might could even do it on $1,000 a month depending on the place/lifestyle

  5. Almost the same as living in the USA, Makati has really high prices for living, especially condos are small and over priced... You probably need $3,000 usd a month for rent, electric, internet, food, and more for a family that size

  6. I gotta here this story. Why were you denied, what's the details. My personal email is fundraisepa@yahoo.com

Its a long story, but we are still fighting it, our case in appeals and its taken years. USA doesnt want us i guess? So instead we just work and spend our money and investments in the philippines instead.
