Good luck on getting it filed, we are doing ours around 1/2014. Oh yea and a little studying, as slow as ROC is we wil probably file for N-400 before its done.

    2. VanessaTony

      VanessaTony

Haha I know ROC is nuts! At least you can file while it's processing, would suck if you couldn't. I'm using a free app to study. So far so good but I'm going to read the actual literature as well 'cause knowing my luck there'll be an error in the app!

  8. Re your tax return and filing online - you need to make sure that your name on your social matches the name you're filing with.

  9. says you're not getting messages when i tried to PM my reply. Re Civil surgeon, what area of Iowa re you in? Have you looked here? https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=CIV The only CS I know in Clinton county is a total rip-off so I'd avoid him like the plague

  10. Eligible for N-400 (USC) in 2 1/2 months (80 days). That seemed to come around real quick from ROC approval... Should probably start studying soon!

get on the phone and start asking questions! My wife had her ROC done in less than 90 days if I recall correctly. We will be in DSM next month for her N-400 interview.

      Breezie54

Wow we submit 3 months prior to expiry and u still have nothing back? What if you have to leave the country you have no current green card That is just nerve racking

    4. VanessaTony

      VanessaTony

Actually I just heard yesterday :) Approved without interview or RFE after 7 months :) You travel with your expired greencard and NOA1. My dad passed in September so I had to travel home for the funeral and did it that way. It was fine :)

  15. Well as a lot of you know mum is coming to visit and will be here in FIVE days :D So in deference to her visit, I will be taking a VJ sabattical. If you want/need me please PM me. I will check from time to time. Some of you know how to contact me outside of VJ anyway :D Best wishes to all :D

    2. VanessaTony

      VanessaTony

It's the norm now. CSC timeframe is around 6 months (that's where I filed) but VSC is more like 9 months atm.

    3. Breezie54

      Breezie54

Oh great getting worse and worse, we only booked a six week visit back to Aussie as i wanted to be back in plenty of time for biometrics and any interviews they may call for sigh

  17. Biometrics date received. It'll be 60 days (to the day) from filing my ROC that I do my biometrics.

  18. I did the i-693 transcription but only because at the time just about everyone was getting RFE'd and it was only $50. if it was today I would just send the DS-3025

  19. Cheque cashed, cheque cashed! Woot woot :) Now I await the NOA1 in the mail and then biometrics :D

Hi Vanessa, wow time sure does go fast if you have filed for you ROC.. I have that lil Gem coming up at the end of the year. We are heading back to Aussie For Xmas and New Year so will have to get the package all ready and leave with Mother In Law to post just before Christmas. Do you have any check lists for ROC AS YET?

Good luck, it's nice to finally see another VJ-er with the same local office! By the way, I found the hard way that DSM does not allow walk-ins now, even though they did 2 years ago, but they let you come in early on the same day.

      VanessaTony

#######! Thanks for letter me know though. I did think I wouldn't risk it this time. I have a GC and will have the extension letter so there's no real pressure to get it done ASAP.

  21. Received my ROC reminder today. I'm not due till April and it was sent to my old address even though I updated it 18+ months ago...(luckily the post office people know me and kept it for me knowing it was important). It's nothing special honestly and I'm not due till April but it's always good to have that reminder than another part will be over soon :D

    1. VanessaTony

      VanessaTony

Well... I called the mis-information line to double-check my address. Couldn't tell me jack. Told me to make an INFOPASS to check it. So very condescending... wow.

  22. Happy New Years!! I hope everyone has a fabulous 2012 :) 4 months until ROC... that's coming around quick!

  23. Merry Christmas!! Hope you all have a safe and Happy Christmas and New Years :)
