Delivered to CSC this morning :-)

We sent ours today to CSC
-
They are not required and many people do not include any unless they do not have enough solid evidence.
We will include a lot of evidence such as bank accounts, 401K, taxes, health and car insurance etc (all joint)... So I guess we don't really need affidavits then?
By the way, have said this before, during K1 and AOS, but saying it again.... so happy for Visa Journey!!!! :-)
-
Hi all!
So here we go again... Can't believe it's already been two years since AOS. Time flies!
We will send ours on Sep 12. Will include copies of joint bank account, joint taxes, 401K, health insurance, car insurance, drivers licenses showing same address, and a few photos.
Also, we will include affidavits. We understood the instructions as if one HAS to include at least 2 affidavits, but seems people are not including them?
Looking forward to keeping in touch with you all! :-)

Hi everyone!
I was hoping someone could help me. I have gone through the AOS process and received my green card. I will apply for removal of conditions in September next year. Now, my question is... we might move and thus change address. Should I report this to USCIS? How? Or should I just wait until I remove conditions in a year and a half and then put the new address on the application?
Many thanks
Freyja

I like how they tell you how you can get a live person. lol
What I did was just use the "changing address" option and that connected me to someone. Just told them I wasn't moving.
I did that too. Chose the option that I have changed my address and then they connected me to a live person. I then just told them I was not changing my address but had some other questions and that was fine. It's really weird that it has to be so difficult to speak to a live person!!! I was surprised there wasn't an option to do so in the main menu.

Congrats ManilaIdaho!!!
-
I only had originals at the time of the interview. But you might want to keep some copies for your own records.
-
Happy New Year everyone!!! ManilaIdaho - good luck on your interview in January! Martin - I hope your RFE is solved soon and you'll be getting an approval very shortly!
Take care everyone and see you in 2011 for removing conditions!!!

Freyja IM SO HAPPY FOR YOUUUUUU....
I knew you'll get a favorable response before Christmas!!!
On our case we decided to call USCIS and they told us that our case was closed and that they were going to deny it (I almost fainted), but that someone made a mistake at the USCIS webpage and at the administration and yesterday I received an approval for my I130... It says that there is no visa for me (I don't need a visa, I need my GC, Lol)... They said I should be getting my GC within 3 weeks, due to this mistake.
That is a confirmation of what we always knew, that the webpage is being run by people hired as temps... No coordination or synchronization whatsoever... Needless to say that my heart skipped a beat, but thanks God that they told us to disregard any deny notifications by the webpage or by mail, that our case was APPROVED on the 14th and that's it.
I hope all the Sept. filers have a GC by Xmas and before this year comes to an end...
Good luck to all
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!! Wonderful news! Can't believe they did that though. It's crazy they lose people's medicals and update the wrong info online! Good thing you called them though to find out the truth!

I don't think it's going to be a problem when you go through the immigration lines. Just make a copy of your marriage certificate and make sure you always have your GC with you at all times. The GC has your alien # so they should be able to trace everything. Have a safe and fun trip home!
Cheers..
Thanks
USCIS told me the SS office should be able to do a "status verification" and see that the K1 holder that entered in maiden name is same person as permanent resident in married name. So seems my SS office is a little confused.. Hopefully will get this sorted without infopass. USCIS told me to bring marriage cert and birth cert along with passport and GC to trip next week.
-
Might want to call USCIS see if you can talk to a supervisor or make an infopass appointment to inquire about the name issues.
I called USCIS and they said this is because I came to the country in my maiden name and I am in the system as K-1 Visa holder in maiden name and then AOS in married name. They should see that it is the same person and SS office should do a "status verification". So I think it is my SS office that is confused. They told me to travel next week with my marriage cert, birth cert, green card and passport. OK for next week but dont want to do that forever! Everyone changes their name when they get married so I cant believe it is so much problems. I think my SS office is a bit clueless because can't be this difficult!
-
So I got my green card yesterday
and thought that would be the end of USCIS for the next 2 years. I was wrong. Went to SS office to get my SS card updated saying I am now permanent resident. Turns out I am still in my maiden name in USCIS systems. How can this be?? I thought my AOS in my married name is the name change I have to do with USCIS?
So now I have greencard as First name: Freyja Middle initial (initial of maiden name) Last name: Married name
While passport is Freyja Middle name Last Name: Maiden name + Married name
While apparently USCIS system has First name: Freyja Middle name Last name: Maiden Name
I am going to Sweden next week. Starting to worry the mismatch in names, especially USCIS system and my GC will be a problem!
Anyone has advice. Am going to call USCIS now. Was there another name change procedure to do I wasn't aware of? I sent AOS in married name and got new SSN with married name and EAD, AP and GC are all in married name. Don't understand how USCIS system can then have me as maiden name??
-
So went to SS office to change my SS card to say I am now permanent resident... And they took my card to be shredded and told me they can't issue a new one since USCIS has not updated my name and I am still in my maiden name in their computer. Great. Also needed letter to bank confirming my SSN which they refused until immigration does name change in computer. My worry is I am going to Sweden next week... and my name is wrong in the system! I thought less paperwork when GC received but apparently not... Calling USCIS now....

JimandChristy - it seems the email I got about being approved and card production ordered were misleading and I was not approved on 12/15 but already on 12/10. So since my card says I am permanent resident since 12/10 I guess that's the correct date. Do you mind changing in the spreadsheet? From 12/15 to 12/10. Thanks
Happy Holidays everyone! It's been snowing here and it's so beautiful. Can't wait for Christmas!

Green card just came with the mail!!!!!!
One weird thing though. It says Residence since 12/10/09... But my approval email came on 12/15 and it said that card production ordered on 12/15. later got email saying registered permanent resident status on 12/15. And on 12/17 email saying mailed notice that have been approved. So.... I was actually approved on 12/10???

You'll receive a so called "Packet 3" and it will have a checklist. Once you have checked all the points on the checklist, you send it back to the Embassy and they invite you for an interview. One of the things on the checklist is the Affidavit of Support. So once you have NOA2 you want to start collecting pay slips etc for the Affidavit. Hope this helps. Good luck!!!
-
We Got 2 - I hope your situation clears up soon and that you receive the GC like planned next week! It might have just been some admin thing. Keeping fingers crossed and thinking about you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
This is so strange. On Dec 15th I got "On December 15, 2009, we ordered production of your new card.". THEN, the next day I got "Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident" and was moved from card production to Decision. And now today I get: "On December 17, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION" Shouldn't card production come AFTER approval? Oh well, I dont care! Just as long as I'm approved and getting the card!
Have a nice evening everyone!
-
Martin - any news on your medical?
-
-
Oh my God!!!! Just got a text that my case has been updated and I logged in on the USCIS website.....
"Document production or Oath Ceremony
On December 15, 2009, we ordered production of your new card."

I don't know if the call I made to them last week made any difference but it might have!
Oh Happy day! Exactly 3 months from NOA
Thank you everyone that's been thinking about me!

So it seems we will be OK with the bank account then, thank you for your answers
When I called the bank she said something about that I might have to get to the SS office with the bank letter. I didn't understand anything. So I will just wait until my hubby and I can go to the bank together on Sat. I do have a state ID and I've had my SSN since August so hopefully everything will be OK. I was just wondering whether this issue came up just because I wasn't a permanent resident (although that seemed odd since I have a work permit) but it seems that's not the issue so let's just see on Sat...
