the 909 and te 1-888 number is the same. the 1-888 can be called with skype or VOIP or people from US with an $18 pin. ( i used mines over 10 times na) and i got the greatest news today. i always call everyday to get an earlier date of interview. initially got april 24, and a very nice girl helped me and gaved me apri 7 just earlier this morning.

conversation started very sungit tone from her. and she said, as of my 2 calls from you i dont have anybody who cancelled their sked. I asked her saying, is it rare to have people cancel their interview date so i can get their slot? she said it depends.. can i get your case number pls.. and she verified a few information about my original sked. and she said, the only date i have here is april 7. i was so excited and said OMG sure thing! im done with my medical already so im all set, il get that schedule.

even if you are on CR1 or whatever type of visa, for as long as its a case in the philippines, you may call that number. i would rather have an $18 pin that i can use multiple times than using the 1-909 number that is per minute rate.

yep i wanted to get earlier than the 24th. hehehe. but when i called ysterday the earliest day i can get is 27th so i didnt change it. hehe

all of my relative has magicjack . even in the US so that they wont spend any of their minutes if they need to talk to us here in PI, very satisfied.

This is my first posting!!! I'm new here, but I have been reading this topic for monthsssssss...... This topic made me feel I'm not alone, so I decided to post a little messsage....

As of today, March 25, 2009... I have been on AP for 47 days.... sad! very sad! I miss my wife....

Also, I'm worried! We got married in the Philippines last July 8, 2008.... and the very next day I flew to San Francisco.... (but i spent almost 4 years with my wife in the Philippines before we got married). Now, reading some of the k3 case, I found out that they had to get a Legal Capacity Certificate in the Embassy... which I was not asked to get this when we applied for our marriage lic... I guess they didn't want to give me a hard time because they know my flight to San Francisco is the following day... Would this be a problem??? The marriage is legit, and it was already filed under NSO in the Philippines... I'm just worried because I didn't have to get the Legal Capacity Cert.

If someone can help me answer this question....

Happy bday! btw, have you checked on the direct consular filing? if you have lived here for 4yrs, you may have a residency in the Philippines and can take the direct consular filing that will take weeks. you may want to check the forum here for DCF.

I was really pissed last week when I learned that the $18 pin I purchased can only be used twice when I checked the uploaded PDF file on usembassy manila website that it can be used 3 times. Oh well, I tried using it for the 3rd time the other day and it worked! and guess what, I tried the 4th time yesterday and it still worked, and wait theres more! I tried it today for the 5th time and it still worked! hahaha. galing! un lang. gusto ko lang i share.

Hi just asking..do you really have to use that $18 Pin to call the USEM? kasi ang alam ko nowadays u can call the embassy na using your prepaid cp d katulad non na PLDT landline lng.

ako kasi i use the magic jack, call the toll free number and use the pin to talk to them. are you referring to the 1-909 number? thats like 59 pesos per minute, sayang naman ung prepaid mo dto or kung naka line ka ang mahal naman. since meron naman ako free calls to US, or you can also use skype, since toll free yon, you may just choose to do the $18 pin instead

Hi, I went to St. Lukes yesterday to have my Day 1 medical done. I am with my daughter with a K2 category. minors dont do lab test so I had my xrays and all the lab stuffs. She had a skin test and I didn't had mines. I have a question, how do you know if the skin test will be positive? Remember the doctor encircled around the skin test shot? How is that ba? if the red mark goes outside the encircled portion, is that the indication that she is positive of TB? Hers is like red just within the circle, it didn't go over that. But if it does, is that positive of TB and what will happen? She can't travel with me anymore?

if she got her NOA2 and she knows that her case is being sent here from NVC already, she can go to St lukes and have her medical done. she can go there before lunch and she'll be done by 6pm. bring her passport, 5 2x2 pictures without earings, (for some reason they also asked me if i have a picture that is not showing my teeth. hahahaha) be sure its glossy for the paper. and the payment for like 10k something pesos.

To my knowledge:

-If you are calling from the United States, yes you have to buy the $18 one time charge to call the USEM.

-If you are calling from the Philippines, you have to use a PLDT landline.

I know this because my fiance tried calling the USEM using her prepaid cell phone and she couldn't get through.

I have a magic jack and I can call US for free.

Let me share this to my fellow stuck people,

you guys know about the $18 pin when calling the immigrant visa call center?im not sure if it applies to other countries or if it is just in people in the US who petitions people in the Philippines. Anyway, their website says we can use the $18 pin twice only but there is a part of the site that shows you can use it 3 times. But hey! I tried it 3 times and it worked! not even 3 times, I tried it the other day for the 4th time and another one today for the 5th time and it still worked! hahaha. funny.

BTW ... for those who finally got out of AP HELL ... how did you find out? Did you get a letter, email, phone call, etc? Or was it by your daily phone calls to the NVC to check on your case.

When I call to check on our case, I am always told that "we will contact you when your case is forwarded ... ". Pardon my negativity, but I don't really have a lot of faith that I will get any notice or ANY kind from the NVC when they finally let us out.

Just wondering how it went for you ...

I just called USEM call center to try and set my interview schedule. she told me that the case has just been uploaded on their system last March 16th but but unfortunately, my case is still not eligible to be scheduled for an interview yet. was just wondering why and when can I schedule my appointment. She said to wait until I recieve a notice of instructions. I really dont want to wait for the notice because i understand how long the post office here in manila takes. thats why i choose to call instead.

I think at this stage it varies according to the embassy in each country. I really don't know what the process is in Philippines. But since there are so many Filipinos on VJ, I'm sure others could give you better information about what to expect. Hopefully it won't be too much longer for you. Hang in there, you've made it this far!

If it makes you feel any better (I know it won't), we got released from NVC the same day that you did. And we still don't have our Packet3 from Bangkok embassy either. We emailed them today to ask about it. I'm hoping to get our Packet 3 in the next few days. We shall see

Thanks uscan for the encouragement. Here in PI, they dont send out packet 3 or packet 4 anymore according to the representative I talked to earlier. whew! its prolonging my agony again. I feel like stuck @ USEM. Should I make another forum with that title?

If I don't have my MNL case number in front of me, will an operator in the US Embassy in Manila give it to me? What's the number to call?

You have to have your MNL case number with you, if not, you have to get it from your file or call NVC and get it. they will not entertain you without that.

The cost of the 909 service is U.S. $0.98 per minute; this amount will be charged to your telephone bill. Applicants, Agents or Petitioners calling from within the United States will also be able to use this service by calling 1-888-877-9888. Your right Mona. Someone can just even provide the case number OR letter from the embassy then s/he can have his/her medical. Monday to friday 6-4pm.

Other requirements are,

3 pcs. 2x2 visa Pic

and a payment of Php 10, 454.15

My fiance already receive a letter(hard copy) with mnl number from nvc with march 4 as letter date but our case is not yet forwarded to usem. So, can I have my medical now?

\yes it is true. its just that when your on the information desk after filling up the forms, they will let you sign something that says, wanted to do medical without the appointment letter yet. it might be like a waiver since medical results expires after 3 months.

the best time is if you know that your case is on its way to USEM manila or if you know that your case is already here in manila.
