Hold off on the personal attacks against me and the OP,lifejourney. Take it to pm if you need to.
I repeat, all I've asked for is information that is verifiable. If you're going to bring up DNA tests etc that the father might pursue, then back it up with information that he can do so through Jamaican-U.S. courts... That would be useful. How would proving the child is his be useful to his immigrating? He can't use it to get to the U.S. anyways, the child would have to petition IF the child wanted to- after age 21 years. The father can't force the mother to bring it to him in Jamaica via courts.
I truly am curious as to what legal rights he would have from another country, no sarcasm at all here, I think it's an interesting point that wasn't substantiated.

OK I don't understand why everyone keeps coming up with different theories as to why he got denied. The man failed a medical test due to drug use. I imagine the CO probably found this completely annoying when it was presented to he/she. They probably assumed if he couldnt stay clean for this short time period to get this process done, he isnt taking the relationship/ process seriously. ( I don't think that, but I can easily see that being the common reaction). So even if he went there and answered every question with perfect confidence and their packet was organized perfectly, since these interviews are subjective the CO could of found any reason to deny his petition out of pure annoyance.
I am glad OP is having a positive attitude about this because like I said before I would kill my fiance! but then again I unfortunately don't have the opportunity to visit so often.

I think you might want to look into whether or not he is required to enter into some sort of official rehab program before successfully reapplying for the visa. While he has a one year ban I believe there is more to it than simply sitting out the 1 year. I'm fairly certain I've read other postings about this.
Regarding the other posts about whether or not you should take a look at your relationship, I do think it would show his determination to be with you if he successfully completed some sort of drug rehab. Not just to you but also to the embassy people. Yes, I know marijuana is a relatively 'mild' drug compared to so many others out there, but the uscis does take it seriously so applicants should too if they want a successful visa process.
    Good luck.

All I'm asking is that if someone posts saying how the biological father is going to come after her legally, that the poster reference or give some sort of real substance of information as to how that can happen. That would be genuine advice and very useful, she can then be proactive in a real way. Posters should not create more confusion and drama, they should lessen the confusion and fear.

    Educate me,
Can't she just not list him on the birth certificate?
Can the courts actually reach out from another country and force a DNA swab of a child if she has cut off contact with the guy?
Seriously, I am curious. No need to scare a woman to death about a guy coming after her unless you KNOW for a fact that it is possible for him to do these things.
If you know these possibilities are a fact then prove it with references, don't just post to scare some person with 'what ifs'.
Frankly he hasn't sounded like someone who is can follow through with a detailed plan as it is.

    Kristina,
I am so sorry that the tactic of offering to move there to Jamaica to be with him didn't work out in the best possible way. Part of me was hoping that he would turn around and be impressed that you would be willing to do that to be with him and he would turn loving and rational again.
At least you have more information now about what he wants and his character. Take care of yourself...
