Your boyfriend's plan...for you to arrive in the US on the VWP, marry and adjust status....is visa fraud. It can carry a lifetime ban
So wile your boyfriend sees it as a waste of money, it is the legal pathway
    good luck

We received the letter in the mail today with my husband's interview date! We will be there next week, September 19 at 9:15 AM. We will definitely be driving to Frankfurt the night before and spending the night! YAY!

NOW: Any recommendations on cheap hotels/pensions somewhat close to the consulate? I'm searching on Google, as well.

veronicavonn reacted to Teddy B in Which region or country gets the most help on VJ?
I disagree, the regional forums serve a great purpose in handling the regional specific questions and problems. The regional forums are also a way to weed out incorrect information by people from other parts of the world who's cases are different. For instance, I have knowledge in what was involved in immigrating my wife here from Canada, but I have very little knowledge of what's involved in immigrating a RUB or PI woman to the states, so I don't go in those forums offering advice, because it would probably be wrong.

there is a BIG difference between Australia and Nigeria..I mean HUGE difference. Nigeria has just about the highest incidence of fraud, if not THE highest. Plus the petitioner is female and far beyond child bearing years, a big part of the culture in Nigeria...really you are comparing apples to oranges.

With that age difference, in one of the highest fraud countries, the chances are just about zero of getting a K-1. There is no need for anyone to sugar coat the fact that it won't happen. Even if you get married and file for cr-1 you will still have a very HARD uphill battle. Good luck.

How would someone know 6 or so months in advance where they will enter? I don't even know yet and I plan to leave in a week.

Well, why not? It is a nice and convenient way to travel. There are people out there who are scared of flying, and that might make it easier for them (it was for me). Also, when I came by cruise ship, I could take as many bags with me as I wanted to, which made moving a lot easier.
Everyone does whatever they feel most comfortable doing.

Yes, you should include your daughter's birth certificate! That adds to the PROOF of your marriage.

And if you have been a stay at home mom and had no income, then you are not required by the US IRS to file taxes. You can attach a letter to your I-864 (later, when it's needed) stating the exact reasons why you were not required to file. This is what I did, as I have spent the majority of my 5 years in Germany unemployed or made too little to be required to file.
I don't have it bookmarked on my computer anymore, but if you search the forums, you an find examples of that letter. I can add mine, too, if you need it.

veronicavonn reacted to JohnR! in Visited BF on Tourist Visa. Now Pregnant. Now What?
If you stay on your tourist visa past the date on our I-94 you will be overstaying. Even if you have your baby in the US, your child will be a US citizen but you will not be able to stay in the country on that account. A child can only sponsor a parent after his/her 21st birthday.
If your boyfriend is serious about you the K-1 is the correct route indeed. Either that or get married already and adjust your status and do so before you have the baby. If your bf changes his mind (about marrying you) once your child is born and you are here out of status, you may be deported while your husband's family may sue for custody of the child, a US citizen.
In the end you should do what you are most comfortable with. If you want to have our baby at home there is no reason for you not to go home and return with a K-1. Either that or ask your BF to put a ring around your finger and get started with your AOS.
    Congratulations and good luck!

For some reason, I thought the DS230 and all the other things that I will be sending in soon were supposed to be sent in together, that's why I originally posted. haha. Oh well, I figured it out.

I will be sending it to the consulate today. I am just now laying my son down for a nap, but when he wakes up, we will be walking to the post office.
@atenea26 - Thanks for the CEAC link. I was planning on looking for it today.
And Frankfurt is about a 5 hour drive one-way from Dresden, so we are not going to be going there. My husband still needs to get a NORMAL check up at our general practitioner, which he thinks he will be able to do FRIDAY. Ugh. I told him the sooner the better. But work calls! So I guess we will be making an appointment in Berlin (which is a 2 hour drive) for sometime the following week.

    Hi Alvanx!
Something my husband and I thought about in case we lost the tickets we already had was that we could get one of those offers for vacation to the US and just don't use the ticket back. For that you can always check Urlaubspiraten.de and Urlaubsguru.de.
Also, I just happened to read yesterday that Condor airlines has an offer on flights to the US. You can get a good deal for 500 euros a person from Frankfurt to a few cities in the US. I don't know if the city you need to go is included on the offer, but for example, you can fly to Fort Lauderdale FL for 369 a person, and then take a low-cost airline flight
    Here's the link: http://www.condor.com/ibe/cfi/de/offersLong/flightOffersListView.xhtml?dwSessionId=6A3689C4A4BDEBD4FAF84A24996C3C2F.content01
Hopefully you'll find something affordable soon!
    Cheers!

Dude I would honestly get the hell out of that right now. If you are caught doing that, you could face time in prison.
Just tell her its off and cut your losses. Or go to prison and start a business with a guy named Brick,+

On another ANGRIER note. Its because of people like you doing like this that honest, real couples who are in love (aka me and my husband) have had to live in near poverty because the government makes such tight guidelines.
    so eff you.

Yeah, but you waited 2 months for your NOA2. I'm still waiting for ANY kind of response (e-mail saying petition is approved and/or NOA1). It's been 6 weeks now..
I'm interested to see if yours gets approved before mine, because you filed in person and I didn't. Either way, we should be getting the same things done around the same time, I think.
