also there really should be some way for fillers to effectively cancel their petitions if they break up because I noticed someone who was approved last week who didnt need the visa anymore even though they did try and withdraw the petition... waste of resources still working on these petitions.... grrr VSC
ooo and wanna hear something that will make you all LOL?
I am a part time student and I also work in a diner, and yesterday I was talking to a somewhat regular customer who tried to tell me it takes 2 days to get a visa to the US, it just depends on where you live. I tried not to laugh in her face, it was pretty hard.

i have messaged Getthere about updating their profile, they are a mid Sept filler with a NOA2, so im sure there are quite a few others who have not updated yet. I guess all we can do is msg them on an individual basis.
She was one that I was talking about. I pmed her yesterday, she replied but never updated.
>< I hope she updates, that will bump me up to # 146

Maybe we need an active Igor's list to supplement the regular igor's list.
I have noticed happydancer comments on a lot of profiles
GJ on trying to keep track of who has been approved.

I wish magic 8 balls actually worked.
And I would like to see how many August fillers there actually are because if you try to look at some of the timelines you get re-directed to the forum page, and some people i have noticed have entered in the NVC dates and not the NOA2 dates, and they are still on IGORs as unapproved.

hahaha!! I love this place
I have my ups and downs.....up until new year I wasn't stressed at all, i knew I wouldn't hear anything before mid January......then the waiting suddenly became unbearable...last week I was a total nutter, checking every 5 minutes...I was totally impatient and like a bear with a sore bum. I'm a bit better this week....I just hope i'm not like a few July and Aug filers that seem to have been over looked by USCIS. Now, who knows how i'll be next week
(i've been waiting for an excuse to use that one!)
I think that we all are wishing that we are not forgotten by USCIS. And that smilley is hilarious. Laura and Tom missed my point entirely. I think I have been having an ok week, im not stressing out too much... but maybe Im a bit crankier than I thought, anyways my point was that we are seeing people get approved after us and these people who filled after us are all stressing out because they have been waiting X days which is less then many other people have been waiting, and this all seems very selfish to me, I saw a post a long time ago where someone suggested that instead of praying for a quick approval you should pray for the patience to get thru everything. I thought that was complete bs when I first read it but I gave it a try and it is a lot easier on your emotions to try and support everyone else then worry about when you will be approved. Gogogogogogo Sept fillers!
and ty to Hotguy and Wisdom for still posting and being supportive of us after getting their NOA2s

i keep on checking in on the october forums to see whats going on since i am close to being an oct filler... and WOW what an impatient bunch of ppl, ud think they were the only ones waiting. ><
-
Ugh...has anyone seen any october approvals today...
I am so impatient!
there are a lot of aug and sept fillers still waiting who have waited longer and are equally as impatient, ive found its easier to hope for the patience to get thru this then hoping for the approval.
-
No, its not funny at all but it is not fair at all to the east coast fillers who just have over 60% of Sept petitionned and only a handful of October files approved while the CSC fillers are already at 50% of November fillers approved. If I had my way both centers would be processing approximately the same dates and the waits for each center would be the same so I am hoping that CSC has slowed down a bit only to normalize the wait time between the 2 centers. I am happy for every single person who has recieved their NOA2's because that is one file down and one file closer to the rest of us being approved.

Hi there,
I'm just wondering if time spent in the USA can affect your K1 application in any way? I've had a K1 pending since October and I've just returned to the USA a week after staying 86 days and am probably going to stay for a similar period as my financial situation allows it. Can this affect anything?
Thanks
Wow! You didn't have any trouble at immigration? I was told by an immigration lawyer that they can see that you have filed the petition know you're engaged which makes them really sketchy about letting you in, especially for more than a week.
I wouldnt be too worried about it and I think that your immigration lawyer is just trying to scare you. I dont know if it is different because I dont need a visa to visit my SO but no one has ever questioned me in great detail about my SO and the K1 process, so I am not sure that they even know about pending K1 visas. As long as you can provide a copy of your itinerary and show that you have ties to your home country you should be fine IMO. I visited my SO for 2.5 weeks over the Christmas holiday and there was no problem at my POE, well the border guard guy did make fun of me for meeting my hunnie on WoW but that was it. I would try and schedule your stay for a lesser amount of time because essentially they want to see that you are spending more time in your home country then theirs.

what's wrong with with CSC now? no approvals lately..
nop, they gettin tan, in a beautiful caribean beach!!!
i feel envy
they get to go home to their S/Os
dont say that....i miss so much my SO
, and they (uscis) play whit us..........
Maybe they have slowed down so thtat VSC can catch up. have you guys compared the graphs for the service centers on IGOR's list? they are still ahead of VSC.
-
sooooo happy for you guys!
you must be soo excited.
go september fillers!!!
-
I watch IGORS list because,, well,, there is not much else to do. It seems like over the past 2 - 3 weeks they have been moving right along with about 30+ IGORS approvals per week. This fits right in line with my estimated NOA2 date and the standard processing timeline.
It was an especially nice day to break into the 300's and see them processing a 10/1/08 case!
What is your take on things?
My take on things is as follows:
The order in which VSC processes cases disgusts me. I am happy for the october fillers who have recieved their NOA2s. But there are still many people who filled in July, August and September who have not recieved a touch or an RFE. Thankfully only 7 in July according to igor's list but still around 60 for August and 40 for September. taken from the Sept VSC forum :
They approved someone who filed in JULY yesterday....fair enough they had to wait until mid August for their NOA1 but they've still been waiting since July...there is no rhyme or reason to how they select the petitions......you can't approve Oct/Nov people and then, 'oh look, heres one from July I just found on my desk', it can't be right!! Please Vermont, just approve me or touch me, anything as long as I know i've not been forgotten!!and taken directly from my file on the USCIS website:
On September 25, 2008, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our VERMONT SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
cough cough.. BS.
On a postive note I am also happy so see so many igor's approvals for February already. My position on igor's has moved far in the past 2 weeks. Thankfully everyone on VJ is so supportive because if it wasnt for the support of my other Sept fillers I would likely be more upset with VSC then I currently am. Sure I want my petition to be approved but i dont want anyone else to wait longer then me either.

I totally agree. They should not be working on any Oct/Nov petitions while there are still many outstanding petitions from July/Aug. As a Sept filler id rather wait an extra couple of weeks for all the people who filed before me to be approved rather then see the October fillers being approved. I dont want to sound selfish either because oct 1 is close to my filling date and I am happy for these people but it just makes me very disapointed in the system.

Amber, it's been almost 5 months without one week for us since our NOA 1 and then...it's just happened:) I still can't believe it.
<hugs> ty

ty everyone for being so supportive. And omg VSC get to work !!! (and stop approving October ppl before us >
) Im a really impatient person and this is really starting to get to me. I hope in the future they improve their system somehow so future applicants have a better idea of what is going on with our cases. I wouldnt wish this on anyone. I know they have a lot of cases come in each day but for the fees we all paid this service sucks. Ugh. Just getting so annoyed. Its been almost 5 months since we applied already. Everyday I cross my fingers while checking our application status, and everyday the same disapointment. Im really thankful that VJ is here because Id for sure be going insane without you all.

today is looking really really disapointing for us. Another Oct filler approved.... >< (I am happy for these ppl but.. common VSC) I was feeling really + about VSC today at work, until I came home and checked the forums. O well there is always tommorow...

My fiance and I planned our wedding back in June for January 04, 2009 ... we had no clue we needed to apply for a fiance visa, we just thought that if he got a B1/B2 Visa came over on that and got married... he went to the consulate in late August but they told him he had applied for the wrong Visa.... to make a long story short, due to our ignorance in this whole process we had to cancel that jan 04 date and filed for the K-1 as soon as we got the news we needed it...we also had to wait till I became naturalized which happen the last day of September. Then we finally filed in October... now, we are just basically waiting for this to come through as soon as the L-rd wills to get married. Nothing worse than having your hopes up, setting a wedding date, having everything planned and then it crashes.... in the end it was a good thing, although this process is lengthy it's better doing it the right way then the wrong way IMO.
Hope we see more petitions for October this week! Praying to G-d it happens
As an end of Sept filler, im just checking in on this thread, they are moving really fast with sept ppl so far, but there are still quite a few of us left. I hope they are done with sept soon and will move on to Oct asap
-
October ppl getting approved makes me make this face ><
-
yes I have.. to be honest, CSC worked hard too, but according tilems they continue approving and for May and for August and other months.. that's why people lose their cases on the way to NVC.
Vermont is moving slowly but confidently.. I am sure Vermont will be the first again VERY SOON!!!!!! It's getting fast speed!!!
i noticed that too, its kinda refreshing to see that VSC kinda follows the right hand tail of a normal distribution. wow my first year stats class has a practical application!
-
Maybe the rest of us will get valentines day approvals.... that would be so nice.
