What is the meaning of "Touched" that I keep seeing in some people's timelines? When I check my case online all it says is that they issued NOA1 on July 28, 2008. Could there be something wrong with my application (I-129F)? It's been almost 6 months since I received NOA1. Is it normal for me not to have heard from them since then?
there are a lot of people who havent seen a touch yet that are in the same timeframe, since it is taking on average 6.5 months to process cases and there are quite a few july and many early august fillers not approved so I wouldnt be too worried about it yet.

I hope you get your NOA2 soon too, and it must feel very good to know that they are finally working on your petition and that its not collecting dust somewhere. Im very happy to hear you got a touch cause it sounds like there might actually be signs of life in VT. At this stage getting a touch is prolly nearly as exciting as getting approved!!

id use this graph for sure if you are going to contact your senator.
national average of 6.5 months = eeeeeek
I don't think this graph works in our benefits. They show .5 more than the goal is.
Somehow, I don't think senator would like to see that..)
the graph is important to those that have beeen waiting over 6.5 months which is quite a few ppl.

Does it cost $400 or $131, does anyone know?
Each intending immigrant, regardless of age, requires a separate visa and must pay U.S. $400 to cover the application and processing fees. Applicants for non-immigrant visas (K and V visas), on the other hand, pay a U.S. $131 visa processing fee. These fees are not refundable. The fees for immigrant visas may be paid either in cash, travelers check or U.S. Postal Order at the Embassy’s Consular Cashier if these have not been paid to the National Visa Center. The visa processing f01/20/2009advance at designated branches of the Banco De Oro and Citibank. All fees may be in Philippine pesos equivalent to the prevailing exchange rate determined by the Embassy.

Keep hoping! I filed Sept. 8 and got my NOA2 Dec. 18. Yours should come soon!
wrong service center
when we filled the CSC was the slow center compared to VSC, but it still wasnt as slow as it is now. Im at 119 days since my NOA1 today and losing my sanity just like everyone else. Also I am going to look for somewhere where I can complain about the lack of customer service we recieve for the fee we all paid. For $455 we should be able to get some answers beyond " we are currently processing a date which we havent updated in months". And i'd love to see a fee breakdown to see how they rationalize $455 for the emotional trauma they are causing all of us.

1st time poster, long time lurker, but Hi anyway...
I am hoping that the VSC gets it butt in gear, I am going on month 4 of waiting, and you'd figure with our level of technology we'd be able to name check and run stuff thru the PC quickly, but with all the paperwork and political bs going on, we have to wait months literally instead of weeks that it should take. I have nothing against other filers, but i feel like i'm standing behind a really big person and can't see the end of the line.. and keep wondering when its going to be my turn to use the rest room.because i'm really ready to goooo.
aww that is a really funny and actual way to put it... im pretty sure everyone feels the same way, i know i sure do. and i totally agree with you about how this is taking way too long for our lvl of technology. I also think that for the $455 filling fee we are not getting the customer service we should be getting.. i.e., update the processing times already.... Sept 30/ Nov 18 2008 isnt very current...

imo weather is no excuse, there is winter every single year in VT...
-
GRATZ guys, as an end of september filler your NOA2 gives me something to smile about!
-
I think I should take a skiing trip to VT, to knock on their doors to see if anyone is actually in there.
I agree and maybe we could bake them some cookies and bring them some hot chocolate
It seems like the closer you get to your estimated date ( mine often varies by 2 weeks from day to day) the harder it gets, the only thing helping me stay sane is thinking that it has been 111 days since my NOA1, so I should hear something soonish, even a touch would make me
just to know that they have looked at our application, and here i go again stressing about tiny errors or things i may have done wrong on our application...

i really want to ask the same question why VSC is soooooooooooooooooo slow now????
it was so much faster than CSC but i don't know what happened?????
Hey Hot Guy..Let pray we get Noa2 very soon ....
Good luck !!!
i noticed on igor's list that there are many more ppl that filed at the VSC than the CSC and are on visajourney, maybe there were jus tmore fillers at VSC overall?
-
call (800) 375 – 5283 then push 1,2,3
just wondering, not planning to call anytime soon but anyone know the number for VSC?
-
I doubt there is anything we can do to speed things up, however, I would dearly love to know why they are apparently approving so few at the moment, what could possibly cause such a decline in NOA2's?? The backlog would only delay things, but that in itself doesn't explain why so few are being approved right now from VSC (at least it would appear that way based on the data from VJ'ers).
We got ours in 5 mos so yours should not be long from now! To speed it up pray to God!
Where do I find this "Igor's List"???
Thanks!

i would definitely say do the K1 route instead of the get married and spend a 6 weke honeymoon together plan. It looks like the k3 currently takes long which is something to consider, as well I'm pretty sure it will emotionally be much more difficult to have to come back to the US without your spouse after having spent over 6 weeks with them.

I totally agree and feel your frustration about the VSC processing times. Before we filled I searched this site a lot and was so happy so see that the VSC approval timeframe was about 100 days and much shorter then the CSC. and now.... I didnt check my estimate or to see if i had any touches while I spent 2 weeks in the US with my hunnie and big surprise when I finally did check.... NO CHANGES. Really makes me pull out my hair or make me :'( Im Hoping that there are a lot of people who just havent updated their profiles and that I dont have to wait the current estimated 5 months to my NOA2... on the plus side it has been 103 days since our NOA1..... there is a little sunshine I guess...

igors listhttp://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/vsc.aspx i looked and march filers are still waiting for k3 no2
yea i noticed this too but soemthing to keep in mind is that there are a few ppl on igor's list who have not updated their profiles for months and there may be duplicate profiles on there too. to get an idea of the dates beign processed i look at http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list...7%2C28&cfl=
and sort by NOA2 date or whatever parameter.

Sigh.. its really re-assuring to hear people say im stressing out over little errors...
I just really dont understand the last line
"If you were going through a higher fraud post it might be more fuel for the fire at the Embassy stage of the process."
Umm what does this mean? I dont think an innocent typo is fraud since i sent in my boarding passes with the correct dates...

omg i should never have read this forum... now i had to go thru my entire stack of stuff we sent in with our I-129F to make sure we didnt forget anything! well at least it appears that an RFE doesnt delay an application by too much...
and then i noticed on the declaration of how we met in person... that i wrote the 4th instead of the 24th as one of the dates i arrived for a visit, i flew down to SC and included my boarding passes with our I-129F submission.... Now i guess i have to wait for an RFE.. altho im not really too sure how that will work other then possibly initialing a change because I sent the evidence in withthe application.... can anyone offer any insight?

the whole system really does suck. after reading some of the timelines/posts by the people who are doing the K3 visa route i feel kinda better, but i still really miss my boyfriend. I just came home from visiting him on Monday and here i am sitting here, having to leave for work in an hour and im bawling my eyes out. i hate this soo much. its been only 42 days since our NOA (thank god we had a touch last week, it kinda brightens my day) i try and rationalize and try and guess how much time has still to pass but its awful. in my head im like well 42 days have passed and the average for the past year has been x days so im z% done waiting.... im bobarded with the what ifs and the uncertainty is driving my insane. the first week back is always the worst, i remember the second time i came back to canada back in the summer i couldnt eat or sleep for 4 days. i was a zombie. today i looked at booking my flight for my xmas visit and it made me feel a bit better but i almost dont want to go because then i have to face this horrible feeling that i feel now all over again. :'(
Update Case status Online, Why are they so mean?
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
Every single person on here wants to be with their SO and wants the process to go as fast as possible. No one is trying to be mean. However we are supposed to be served by a first come first served basis so I could justify calling if most of your filling month had been approved and you hadnt even had a touch, but us September fillers must sit tight and wait, there are over 100 registered VJers who filled in August alone ahead of us. I totally agree that their customer service is very cery crappy and I think we should get more customer service considering the fees we all paid but one peson complaining isnt going to make any difference. And I really dont think that it is an issue of the representatives you speak with on the phone being mean, they have a crappy job to do and field complaint calls all day long. They likely are not withholding info from you because they likely dont know anything more then what you can find out online by yourself. You have already waited like 4 months since you recieved your NOA1 and should be proud/glad you have managed to maintain your sanity so far, and as my SO tells me nearly every night it will all be over soon enough and you do have the rest of your life together to look forward to. And be glad the VJ exists and you are not here alone.
