I got the RFE by email on the 13th, it was recieved by my SO on the 20th and he mailed it back on the 21st, they didnt resume processing until the 27th and I was touched the 1, 3, and 4th. My RFE was for a copy of his birth certificate. What was your RFE for? And ive noticed that people typically get touched 3 times after processing is resumed and not again until the NOA2 is issued. Im also thinking that it depends on how and individual employee does their RFE's maybe they wait until there is a stack of them to work on, or they come back to them after a certain amount of time, I read the QA session with a former employee and looks like there is no set procedure for when to work on a RFE.... Waiting longer after processing has resumed almost seems like we are being penalized for not including something or checking a box in error...

Im trying to check less too, but its very hard not to check so much. Saw someone with an RFE was approved yesterday... Hopefully approval will come for us remaning Sept people next week....

Thanks everybody for your support, it does mean a lot. And you guys who've been approved, thanks for coming back and checking on us and thanks for your encouragement.Hello everyone, just stay positive and you all will be approved soon, I know it's very difficult staying away from your love one, but remember this: THE LONGER YOU WAIT , THE MOST EXCITING WILL BE WHEN YOU ARE FINALLY TOGETHER", we all are on this together,m and this is the best place to find comfort and support....
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE AND BLESSINGS....
LUISH
I know what you are trying to say Luish but I've had enough of waiting. I want to be with my baby NOW. Had enough of keeping my life on hold until somebody at VSC finally decides to dust some long forgotten files.
Well, I'm 3 days short of 6 months wait so will be moving over to 6+ months waiting club soon. And by the time I'm finally approved, I'll be ready to open jewellery shop with all the spare pieces I've made in meantime. Currently trying different designs for napkin rings to see which one I like the best.
/ hug
6 months since applying almost already eh, me too on the 25th....
i got another touch today...
more like just a tease.
I hate VSC soo much. Its not fair that we have to be apart while they are doing the october and november fillers already... GRRR

Yea, I was beginning to feel pretty crappy too. To occupy my time and to at least make myself think I was making a difference, I began writing so many letters to government officials. Luckily, before I could really begin my onslaught, USCIS approved my petition (hehe).
Not really sure if it was the infopass appointments, letters I wrote, phone calls... or if it was just my time. But at least I knew that everyday I was doing something to show myself and my fiancee that I really did care and I really was serious. Corny? Yes. Did it help me? Yes.
Nick
Anything to get us through this waiting period... I've started making beads jewellery last night and it definitely took my mind off the NOA2. And I enjoyed myself immensely. Also, I'll have plenty of "sorry to leave you behind" gifts to give away once this waiting is finally over.
I just hope that we get an update on the website since my baby's computer decided to go belly up yesterday so we can't even get an email. Talk about timing
Well that is a nice idea to do to pass the time, I started packing a few boxes of just nick nacks and junk really, but that prolly didnt help, made me more anxious so dont do that lol. I got up early today and saw a touch today at 7 am, and im in the same time zone as VSC. Interesting. Well hopefully this is our week. or next week maybe. Or the next week...

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to LUISH and Birdie on their NOA2!!!
Fab news!!
woo hooo gratz looks like its just me and Kat&Allie left( well of the active posters)
I think you are right, amberL, this is likely to become a very lonely thread indeed. You and me...
Let's hope some of the others September filers who have not been approved yet join us soon...
If the recent VSC trend in approving petitions with RFE is correct (about 3 weeks after they resume case processing), we should get approved this week. What worries me is that it looks like one September filer got their 2nd RFE recently so now I'm worried we might as well. I know I should think negatively but it's getting more difficult to keep optimistic... And you know the worst thing is that I cannot bring myself to congratulate people who have been approved from November already. Feeling horrible about it but for crying out loud, let's get through June, July, August and September first, finish them off and then move on
. Oh, well....
I’m feeling a bit down since I had to say goodbye to my baby yesterday but having him over here even for the weekend was precious enough. Just wish we could see each other that more often
.
Hope this week will be a good one for all of us Sept. filers at whichever stage in the process we are.
I definitely feel the same way as you, i cant congratulate november fillers who are being approved now. We filled way before them and have had to wait even longer then they did and why? no one can give us a satisfactory answer. Essentially we didnt do anything , we just got bad luck and are being forced to be apart from our loved ones longer. And the longer this is taking the more of an emotionally unstable person i am finding myself. I snap and am just generally very crabby, trying to make the best of it but i didnt think i was going to be 6 months to approval... and the thought of a second RFE makes me even more worried. Anyways hope your visit this weekend was fun. 2 and a half weeks til i go and see my hunnie! Im excited, but had a rough weekend...
-
well i got a touch on sunday... weird i didnt think they worked on sunday, but seeing this makes me think better of VSC if they do indeed work on sundays too.
-
woo hooo gratz looks like its just me and Kat&Allie left
( well of the active posters)

oooooooooo yay i checked while making supper and processing has resumed
Soo excited atm!!!

Well, we got a letter in response to my email to the congressman today, it would seem that he had nothing to do with us getting our NOA2 as he wrote in his letter that we should expect to wait another 5-6 months!! So it must have just been a coincidence.
Any news for anyone else today?? Its been a bit quiet from VSC today?
Well, I also got a response from my congressman, in which he says that he had sent an inquiry to VSC, thsi was 3 days ago, and so far nothing......I'm just trying to stay + , but it's difficult when you see October and even November approvals, eventhought I'm happy for them, I also want to get my NOA2 so I can move on to the next step....
Good Luck Everyone....
LUISH
Yea it seems like it has been a very very quiet day. ugh SO didnt get a confirmation number so we can check to see if they recieved the RFE response so im just like
well this sucks cause I dont know if it has got there yet, or prolly it is just sitting there waiting to be opened... I kinda feel like im in limbo... Tried to guage how long it takes for processing to resume....O well maybe tmrw or next week will bring good news for us eh Luish?

anyone posting here ever seen anyone get 2 rfe's ? like more then one RFE for the initial submission ? im just curious i have heard of it happening just havent found a post...
-
I have definitely read posts from couples on VJ where they have recieved and RFE and then a subsequent RFE. It seems that the service center issues an RFE as soon as they find a deficiency in the petition and do not continue with the file until the initial RFE has been addressed, therefore leaving open the door for a second RFE.
That's just great!
At this rate we'll keep them busy for a while then.
And my SO will go spare if I make him overnight every single RFE we get... he's already moaning about the costs
Thanks for the replies guys.
Hugs. I really hope that they didnt find more discrepancies in our applications KAT and Allie, I was going to ask if you did overnight your RFE, we didnt send it to be overnighted and it has been 5 days and still nothing. I really wish we had overnighted it now... Hopefully your RFE was for something at the end of the application. Now I am just wondering about ours.... It was for the birth certificate and well I hope they looked over everything to be more efficient and only send one RFE... i have seen people post that they had a single RFE with a couple of issues that needed to be corrected/addressed... Im just stressing and venting anyways... Last week I was really happy to hear that we got an RFE, to me it meant that they were working on things but now... Im stressed again

Stores are supposed to honour the old tabs even if they expired.
-
Wow it seriosuly takes too long to resume processing after an RFE.... Well maybe not, Im just super impatient. Get on it already VSC. ugh that place annoys me soo much. but Im glad to see they approved a late august filler about time!! And wow Wisdom, Im really surprised at how fast the interview was scheduled you are soo lucky!!
-
hi September!! just want to let everybody know...i spent last night celebrating the noa2 at a REAL mexican restaurant with my best friend and some Negro Modelo...and tonight working HARD finishing up the papers I need to send Dima for the interview. I should be able to send him a big stack of papers on Monday! I also start my long-term sub position in a first grade classroom on Monday. So, all these months of depression and hating life have risen to another benchmark.
All of you who are still waiting...know that many have been in your shoes...many will be for a lot longer...but it all comes to an end---that leads to another endeavor---a never ending circle. good luck to everyone!
Yay i hope his embassy is speedy and schedules an interview fast!
-
Same here
But if it goes by 3 weeks since RFE reply like in amberdima's case, we still got almost a week to go.
But since my baby's coming over on Friday, the excitement of seeing him again has taken over all other worries and anxieties. Can't wait
Woo hooo! Has it been a long time since you saw him last? Im going to see Charles in 3 weeks so im super excited too.
-
Any updates today??
none for me, Charles sent the RFE in by express mail on Sat. morning. They quoted him 2-3 days for delivery... Im thinking maybe tmrw or Friday processing will resume until then....
Anyone else?
-
ohhhh im soo happy you 2 were approved! you guys better continue posting in this forum to keep the rest of us company

Good old days when they processed majority of RFEs within two weeks of the receiving the requested documentation...
Maybe I've missed them but I haven't noticed any recent RFE being approved within couple of days.
Ours was really simple tick box question and since we returned it, we've been touched for three days in a row but nothing else - case still pending. Two weeks on and counting...
I looked at all the people from VSC on igor's, particularly the people who filled in august and sept and it looks like most petitions have been approved 3-4 weeks after the RFE, some people may not have replied right away to the RFE which is something to consider but anyways im getting off topic, it looks like RFEs are taking about a month and not 10 days atm so hang in there Kat and allie
-
im under the vwp and they have asked to see my itinerary and checked that i had a return ticket on the itinerary and asked me questions about when i was returning every single time i have gone to see my SO. So i think its best to play it safe and have the return ticket so they dont give you a hard time.

We got touched a day after they put the case on hold. RFE issued on the 2 Feb, touched both on the 2nd and 3rd and then 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th.
Nothing since....
Well, if it doesn't happen this month, it'll happen next month. No wedding in April for me though
Well im kinda relieved to see you were touched the day after the RFE was issued too...
/ hug o well maybe a late spring/early summer wedding? ( not sure how long your consulate takes to schedule an interview)
we are shooting for maybe a september wedding ( montreal takes forever for interviews)
-
pls update your timeline and include your RFE mannequinn so the rest of us with RFE's can see how long yours took. Funny I checked today and I had a touch on the 17th as well... find this very very odd thought because the RFE was mailed on the 13th and processing had been put on hold, touched on the 17th and the RFE didnt arrive in Charleston until the 21st... So i guess processing want really put on hold unless the touch means maybe it was just scanned because it was moved... anyways... its got me thinking. I hope and pray that this week will be a good week for us sept fillers. Expecting my RFE back in VT by mid week...

Basically, here's the situation:
My girlfriend is in the Czech Republic, and I am in Los Angeles. She has a ten-year tourist visa which allows her to come and go 6 months at a time (I realize, not a guarantee). She has been here (Boston, actually) once already in November for a month, and is coming in two weeks to LA, for three weeks. She then plans on coming again in June, and we plan on getting married a couple of months into her being here, and then apply for an Adjustment of Status. I have consulted an attorney and I know that my option is either this or a K1 visa, which I cannot begin to imagine having to wait for. My question is simply this:
What is the likelihood that she will get denied entry upon her third trip to the States? She will say she is visiting a friend since she recently finished school and will not start working until September, and she will have a return plane ticket home.
So, has anyone here been denied entry based on coming too frequently/too many times?
Many thanks,
I
if she is coming to LA in 2 weeks why not begin to file for the K1 then? you will have to wait longer then you had initially planned to get married but not by much if you started the K1 /K3 procedure after June. And I guess you really have to ask yourself if you are willing to have a 3 year ban :S seems like waiting for the K1 like many other people are currently doing is a lot less stressful than a 3 year ban, anyways VJ is really supportive and if its meant to be you can get through the K1 wait. Prolly makes yoiu stronger as a couple but thats just my opinion...
-
guys im wondering how do you send in the additional file after getting a RFE
do you JUST send that in a envelope? what to label the envelope so that they know wat it is?
They tell you exactly what to do.
-
i need advice guys
All you can do is wait for the RFE to come, it will prolly take several months before they work on your petition and notice it. I dont think mailing them a corrected form will help either because based on the pictures of the filling centers the likely hood of your corrected forms actually being placed with your original submission are slim to nil. I went through the same thing when i filled, i went over the petition with a magnifying glass and realized i forgot to enclose a copy of a birth certificate, and just waited patiently and prepared myself for being delayed by an RFE. It sucks but... all that you can do is prepare yourself for it.
160 Days and waiting....

Not a very helpful response. Come and join the September VSC thread, there are others there who are still waiting. I got my NOA1 one day before you and am still waiting, granted I got an RFE but there were others like KristinUK who didnt get an RFE and had to wait almost 6 months as well. Tallcoolone, you are kinda comparing apples to oranges when comparing a September filler to you, VSC has slowed down significantly since you filled. And I am pretty sure if you call you will recive the same response everyone else gets because technically according to their government website they are working on cases from May 12 2008.
P.S. Fourjudge, Are you from buffalo NY?
