Just maybe and think it a better telling feature is that the students that do better on the test are the ones that study and get tutor or extra help on any deficients found.
As an example. My Uncle in law has 6 kids. All are doctors except one and he is a well paid software engineer. They came to this country as refugees and had several interruptions over years until they finally were able to place firm roots in one place. I asked one how they were able to achieve so well and he told me that they were no smarter than anyone else but they did study a lot and worked harder. They all did well on the entrance exams because they knew what they were going to do and knew it was an important test and studied for it.
A black girlfriend I had many years ago was had surpassed everything threw her way by also studying extra hard. Her parents made her study and enforced good school habits from an early age. I have known many Asians and all had families that pushed them to excel in the classroom from a early age. The one thing I have found that determined good grades is studying. What would have kids from an early age to study? I have found it is a parent or both parents have instilled this in them from early on.
To say that blacks as a group are inferior in thinking is wrong. There have been many blacks who were genius's and who excelled at everything they did. Any inner city school that has a high percentage of bad scores always has some that do well and I can bet that the ones that do well study and the reason they do so is because they have someone that pushes that value on them from an early age.

I'm middle class. I'm sitting in a cube in a corporate headquarters with nearly 10,000 other people just like me. Most of us are middle class. Most of us are comfortable. The culture is chill, the money is good and the business (without getting into details) is not very volatile so recessions don't hurt much. Company stock has weathered this recession well, as it did the last one.
So you'll understand if I find it very confusing when the narrative from the left implies that the middle class and corporate America are at war with each other. It sure doesn't feel like it where I sit. In fact, it never has.

From what I read they said it was successful alright but in a bad way. They were pretty good at cherry picking false data and distorting ambiguous data and making it seem it was a done deal and no more debate needed to be done. They then when on and blasted the agency for its pretty much getting caught red handed and destroying a once promising theory that was almost a real science. Now that they are totally at odds with reality it will be hard for this agency to have any credence in the future.
The best thing is that we can now have scientists bring forth the real data and we can all see and discuss on the merits. If the global warming was a real science then there would have been no need for deceit in the first place and suppressing of any scientists and data. It looks like the Federal government was in cahoots with them and spread everyones hard earned taxes to enrich their friends and political contributors. The moronic Socialists are still trying to push this bunk on the world.

Any scientist that poo poo's GW is in the pocket of industry? Really now. I think that every scientist that screams about GW is on the Fed dole. If any scientist asks for money for research to combat GW they get it from us taxpayers. There are actually way more scientists that think GW warming is not a science at all but at the most a theory that should be investigated further but in no way ever should this be called a done deal. If it was a real science then why the need to cherry pick only data that supports your take on things and ignore and/or suppress any data that shows the opposite? That they did this at all is FRAUD. If any scientist ever had done these things in the past they would have been castigated and many were in the past.
No, these scientists are toeing the line to further an agenda that the Feds want them too. This stuff has enabled the government to control the citizenry. The scare tactics they are trying to pull is scandalous and all over a bunk science that a majority of scientists in the world has denounced as fake. These scientists could get on the gravy train like these frauds have and accept money to fit a science to the government wants but they have integrity and I admire that.

So, this is just another piece of political grandstanding by Eric Holder, wasting taxpayer's money pursuing a publicly elected law enforcement official who has the overwhelming support of his electorate, and what amounts to a testimonial on his operating methods from ICE.
This has nothing to do with the law itself, but everything to do with preventing enforcement of it. All this from the very person appointed by the President to oversee enforcement of our laws. Tell me, where's the sense in that?

Obama the Socialist has done exactly what he said he was going to do. The sheep bought it totally and are leaving him in droves when he has done what he campaigned on. Of course he did promise that the middle class would not see a tax increase and we haven't except in sin taxes but that is not the same. We all know that the middle class will be taking a bath next year so the messiah can't be blamed for it yet. So why the recriminations now? I see from the poll that the ones that think he is doing a good job is about what the amount of the hard core Socialist are so they are sticking by him.
On the flip side it was said back then that spending a huge amount of money was not good and having a record deficit was also not good for the economy but no one cared then so why care now. The sheep who call themselves independents did this and could care less so don't cry now. You backed a moron so live with it. It is amazing that this idiot that is now our president makes Bush look like a genius and that should have taken some doing to do but Obama the Socialist made it look so easy.

Never said to get out of the country but knew that you would get defensive enough and assume that is what I said. (It is like shooting fish in a barrel) In fact what the thing that is simple is to amend the Constitution. As you said it has been done before a few times.
The last time it was tried to amend that grand document was for the ERA amendment. It was smooth sailing for it too and every state was jumping on that bandwagon to ratify. Corks were popping and parties were everywhere as each state signed on to ratify such a needed amendment.
Then one party pooper lady came along and started writing articles asking what would happen once this became the law of the land. As she wrote one article after another and the taking it the next step and explaining the raminifications then all of a sudden the enthusiasm waned and the support started to fall away. It was amazing that only a few more states were needed to finish the job but all of a sudden no new states were so gung ho and decided to ask their citizens for a referendum on what they wanted. Even woman who were the catalyst for the fight started to wake up and realize the huge blunder they were about to become party to. The deadline loomed and came near and it seemed doomed and even the few partisans still fighting for it asked for more time. It was granted to no avail.
Now we do not really need to have some foreigner come here and explain to us how this grand Constitution is out dated. How the one instrument we all know and love with all our hearts is nowadays not needed except as a tissue paper to wipe your frilly azz with.
Now I do have a passport and have used it extensively. I have traveled all over Europe and Asian and Central and South America and Australia. I have seen all ranges of governments and peoples. I also know for a fact that in all the so called safe countries you mentioned that every city has their slums and areas that few people can enter under threat of crime and even death. I also know that crime is rampant in all these countries. Being European does not make one immune from being victimized. I also never have witnessed racism as I have until I have went to any European country but also in Asian and all parts. Aussie land was especially venomous to any non whites. Made me realize we are not perfect here but we are trying to overcome our differences and that it was due to having this Constitution and the freedom of speech. Also after traipsing all over the world I also realize that we are the most safe country of them all. Most anywhere in this country we can go about and not become victimized. Sure we also have our few slum and bad areas as others.
So now that you are so close to becoming a citizen in name only then please do me a favor and go out and become political and voice your opinion and try to sway others to follow you. I promise to not stifle your speech even though I find it hateful and treasonous and unAmerican. That is what makes us so great here and so many try to flock here because as you said your wonderful country you come from would not allow you to do the same.

luckytxn got a reaction from sachinky in Why is divorce a red flag? Just wondering.
Actually the pattern of why a divorce is a red flag is not because some marry a VN and get divorced after they get the green card even though this has happened at this consulate and other places. It started years ago when a green card fraud ring on the west coast, actually two of them operating at the same time (maybe they were in cooperation) was busted. It was a major fraud ring that was run by VN and for VN. It turned out that quite a few of the ones that was found out to have committed fraud had been married already and was offered a bunch of money to get divorced and marry a VN citizen and bring her here and then after a certain amount of time then divorce. They would then remarry their former spouses. During the investigation they had found out that they were even still living together with their supposed spouses. (hence why they try to found out where the exes are living and the phone calls now and them asking for bills and such now.) From what I remember they even found out some that were not in that particular fraud ring but that some families had done the same thing with close friends. (Hence why they look at how one is introduced and what family is here already)
Now we all know that once criminals are found out that criminals change how they operate and more than likely they are looking at seeming more legit ways than doing it that way from before but we also know that this is a bureaucracy and once a bureaucracy gets a hold of something and makes it a red flag then it is very hard and next to impossible to get them to change their thinking. That is why I call this the mother of all red flags but of course there are a few others. When I first started to come on this board it was still pretty fresh then (This is actually my third name on this board so don't go by the date it shows) and we all knew that they would be looking very heavily at any recent divorces and marries. The consulate was in the middle of a firestorm at that time due to that fraud ring and I am sure that they are still smarting from it.
From this we can see why they do some of the things that they are doing. It may not be fair to us now but as I keep saying this is a bureaucracy we are dealing with. Bureaucracy are very cumbersome and unwieldy. (Wait till they get a hold of health care) I have had many dealing with bureaucracy and even when in the military was part of it and remember we had to look at red flags of things that hadn't been seen for over 20 years but we were still forced to beware of these things. Us newbies could and would pass off the old red flags at times but we had daily and weekly meetings and supervisors who watched over us to be sure we followed the line. The superiors called the shots and we had very little input actually. I had less than 6 months left and even after much pressure to reenlist or join a private firm to do the same thing I started to just pass everything with red flags anyway on up. Most bureaucrats can't do this though if they want to keep getting that government paycheck or even have any hope for any advancement. For us to have any dealings with these people we have to play their game by their rules. There is no other way around it. That is why this forum is so helpful. Instead of trying to come up with ways around the system we should be getting together and finding out what is working and why and not working and why. I see patterns sometimes but who knows.
This may not be helpful but it explains why I say this is indeed a huge red flag.

At the Yalta conference, near the end of WW2, Roosevelt was deeply taken by Stalin while Churchill was very suspicious (rightfully so). FDRs attraction to Stalin was due, in part, to the American President's progressive world view. What I am getting to is this: Roosevelt and Stalin carved up Europe at that conference, while Churchill, who objected to the enslavement of Eastern Europe, was shut out. 50 years of slavery, including Poland, Chekoslovakia, Hungary, etc. were caused by FDR's agreement with Stalin. FDR gave his support to a fellow leftist. This is a stain on us as well as Russia and is a direct result of FDR's progressive beliefs.
Liberals revere FDR. We need to re-assess this progressive, who, in many ways is like the current President .

I can smell the fear on you, Stevie. You constantly assert that no one with an understanding of SB 1070 and the Constitution can't support the law, yet you admit your lack that understanding yourself. I support the law, not out of ignorance of the law or the Constitution, but because I can spot legal desparation a mile away. The arguments you cite from the briefs are about what might happen if the law goes into effect, how it b]might[/b] be abused on the basis of race, but that is true of every law a street cop enforces.
The legal arguments on the non-fed anti-SB 1070 side amount to this: once an illegal is in the states, s/he must be protected from detection, prosecution and deportation.
That's it, and the Feds argument isn't much more than, except that they want the court to decide that, indeed, no state can fight back against doing nothing. Anyone who loves this country, and most Americans do, support Arizona's fight against do-nothing, imperialist government.
