  1. the first time my husband met my dad, he shook my dad's hand . each time he arrives from the usa and before he leaves, he does it. he also shakes hands with my relatives whenever i introduce him. im not so sure about the hand me downs but since your girl says you can bring your old clothes, then i guess thats ok with them. each family is different and some families might not feel comfortable with that. all i can say is, dont do anything that will also make you uncomfortable, just be yourself. and try to be wary about too much money spending. dont make them think you have so much to spare since i believe this might cause a problem in the future.

  2. My wife finished her tb culture. When she called they said go to release area counter "g". Does any one know what this means?

    thanks for any info

that means she passed her culture test and Sir Clark at counter G will give her further instructions on what to do next, im assuming she will have the immunizations right away.

Thank you so much for your info. You roam this forum and always have something to contribute for the people trying to deal with all the immigration problems. BTW .... CLARK is not his real name just "as the workers at SLEC" say "a STAGE NAME".

no problem ^_^ i am glad to be of help to those who need it . i know how it feels to be delayed because of this whole culture thing but trust me, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. i wish you the best , and good luck on the interview.

  4. slec will give you a piece of paper stating the date on when youre supposed to call Sir Clark ( he is the one sitting on counter G) . when that day comes, you need to call him and if your culture result is negative then he will tell you to go for immunizations. however, if you get a call from slec before 8 weeks, then most probably you tested positive and will have to undergo 6 months of meds.

  5. sige lang sis kung yan ang paniniwala mo.... want to remind you na walang record sa nso ang kasal namin ng asawa ko ngayon.

Sis your first marriage is still considered valid in the Philippines because divorce between Filipinos, wherever secured and even if with the consent of both spouses, is not recognized under Philippine laws. In other words, as far as the Philippines is concerned, the second marriage is null and void...

Sis, how come the 2nd marriage is null and void when there's no record in the NSO?

    To Jom:

Thanks sa advice, yup since my ex and i separated way back 1989 ay hindi talaga ako nag-invest. Anyway, yung dati naming property ay naka-transfer na rin sa anak namin, at nag-promise din ako na di ako maghahabol sa binili nyang property with his partner alang-alang for their 2 kids. I'll see to it na ma-annul muna ang kasal namin ng ex ko before investing property back in the Philippines if ever we plan to invest.

    To walls1010:

I am just very curious...did you have your K1visa interview in the US Embassy in Manila or in the US Embassy in Hongkong?

    Myla

    In Hongkong US Embassy.

Thanks for the reply. Now I wonder, if you had your K1 interview in Manila, would the Embassy honor the divorce decree you obtained from Hongkong?. Hongkong recognizes divorce while the Philippines does not. A member is also in the same predicament. She obtained her divorce decree here in the US but she is back in the Philippines and a future beneficiary of a second K1 visa. She will definitely have her K1 interview in the US EMbassy in Manila and now I am wondering if the country where the interview will be would matter whether the divorce decree obtained abroad will be accepted or not. I am very interested to know of the outcome.

    Godbless you :)

i am very curious about this too. if anyone has any idea about this, or any experience regarding this situation, pls let us know

  6. i have a question for JOM:.. if the filipina divorced her husband outside our country then how can she get a cenomar at the nso?... coz quite confuse me about this matter.... bcoz i read a post here that the embassy is requiring her a cenomar/cemar....

im not sure if this will answer your question but here is my own experience. my 1st marriage was also annuled in the phils , i secured a Cermar which shows both my 1st marriage and 2nd marriage ( to my USC husband). then i also secured a certificate of marriage showing the "null and void" annotation at the side , this annotation will support my cermar proving that my 1st marriage has already been annuled. if you get a cenomar/cemar from the NSO, it will show your previous marriage and you can always bring your divorce decree to support it ( im not sure if the us embassy will honor it but you can always try).
