What I am saying is to get a sputum test 3 months or so ahead of the SLEC medical just to see if there is a problem in the lungs, and if so, Pinay can take meds and get cleared up prior to her SLEC medical.

Like taking a practice test, before the real test. Are sputum tests expensive at a private clinic in Phils?

actually, it will be the XRAY they will first look at to see if there are spots or scars . then if there is, st lukes will let her do the sputum tests. then wait 2 months. another thing, st lukes will not only rely on sputum results, they will wait for culture results which is the gold standard for determing active tb.

in my city, sputum tests are not expensive, if i remember it right, one sputum test cost about 100 pesos. it is the culture test that is expensive. if you want, you can have an xray done in a private hospital to see if theres an abnormality, although st lukes will not honor it but at least you'll be prepared when st lukes orders her to do the sputum tests. however, my friend did this, her xray was clear in cebu but at st lukes, she still showed a small scar in her lung. st lukes said their xray equipment is very hi tech thats why.

if youre just going for the shots, then most likely youll still be able to catch your afternoon flight. just go there as early as you can.

if youve had PTB, then you might have a scar in your lungs, st lukes will let you undergo sputum tests and that will delay you for 2 months since you also need to wait for the culture results. however, since youve undergone medications already, then you will most likely pass the culture test. my advice is to do the medical exams early so that even if you have to wait for 2 months , it wont delay your interview. take note, for people who undergo sputum tests, their medical results will have a 3 month validity only.

as for the affidavit of support, my husband submitted the AOS to NVC and i also brought a copy with me to the interview.

when i opened my packet akala ko mali yung na open ko yung plastic hehehehehehe buti na lang tama na opened ko...kaka exciting kasi pag nahawakan mo na ang visa mo...kaya eenjoy mo muna te sasha414 ang moment mo dyan kasi siguro para ka pang lumulutang sa saya dahil makakasama mo na hubby mo.

go ahead and open the plastic bag, take your passport out. You will need to photocopy (I scanned mine) the Immigrant Data Summary so you can get the CFO sticker affixed on your passport (bring a passport-sized pic, too). Did it come with a note about getting your SSN? If it says for you to wait, hay naku...we did that and it turned out that we had to apply for it at the nearest SS office. So when you get here, apply for it already.

Also, I did not throw the plastic bag away; I used it to protect the visa package. Guard that packet with your life and do not put it in your carry-on. Go ahead and surrender the package to Immigration when you get here (bahala na silang mag-dispose of the plastic bag). B)

thanks Doc Gracey, yup i actually had the visa delivered here so i can run to the cfo office for the sticker. i already attended the seminar before. itll save me a trip to cfo cebu. and yup it came with a note saying ill get the ssn in 3 weeks from arrival , but ill double check on this when i get there just to be sure , thanks for the advice. by the way, cute name for the new baby girl

they will inject in both arms. i am also scared of needles but the happiness i felt thinking i was done with the medical exams was more than enough to mask the needle pain. lately the embassy allows visa pick up only for emergency but you can always ask the consul. my visa was delivered 5 days from interview date.

if youre 100% sure your lungs are clear, you can do the medical 3 days before the the interview. but you need to inform st lukes about your interview date just to be sure.

smart move pinayamerican. someone has to put a stop to this and since the bank already returned the bounced check to you, its much easier for you to take legal action. dont expect to get your money back because you wont , in fact you might end up spending more for lawyer's fees . however, money is not the issue here anymore. this is a matter of principle. if nobody does anything, this scam will go on and on because Laarni will think she can get away with it.

my laptop before was sent via forex box , packed well with bubblewrap, firmly supported by thick towels. it was supposed to be sent via fed ex but they charge high taxes. with forex, no tax charge. my sister also sent me a CPU years ago using forex.

thats how i did it too, copy paste to word. however, the consul never asked for it. just to be sure, bring what you have, you will be ok.
