The SSN card is marked that way to tell an employer to ask for other evidence of employment authorization, (EAD or Green-Card)
SSN is NOT work authorization.
Moving this to Work/travel prior to green-card.
Hi,
Thank you so much guys..well, my case was i've got my EAD last Nov. and Green Card last January 31, 2009 but since the SS office kept on telling me that i need to wait for the immigration to update my case into my married name so that they could issue me my card.
But anyway, thank you for the immediate response..

Hello Guys,
I Couldn't believed i received my SS card today in the mail after i stopped on waiting, but i have a question since its already in my married name, why does it have "valid for work only with DHS authorization" in it? What does it means by this? Please share me your thoughts about this..
Salamat!!

hello guys..How many months you waited after you received your greencard before you went back to social security to change it into your married name? i really need your input on this. I asked this because the ss told me it would take about 6 months after you got your greencard before immigration will update the status..Thank you so much in advance!!

My vj family..i would like to share with you about what i found out! my husband called the USCIS regarding about my SSN, i know i kept on repeating about it!!..SSS office kept on telling me THE IMMIGRATION HAVEN't changed my status name to my married name when i follow-up my application!grrrr...Well anyway, when husband called this afternoon, the man he talked to asked for my A# in my EAD, Guess what he said.. he couldn't even see in my file where i received my EAD last Nov.14,2008 nor see that my AOS have been approved already last Jan.26,(Hopefully crossing our fingers crossed) after i checked it online and received an email from Cris, "CARD Production Ordered", then a 2nd email from him "Welcome Notice Sent"..
So guys, what is your idea on this? its so rediculous!
BTW! before i send this now, i checked my status online and says, APPROVAL NOTICED SENT...so i dont know what to think right now....i wish to hear from you..thank you!!

Hi Guys,
I need some help for a friend in the Philippines who is married to a USC and they are still waiting for NOA2 at the moment. They've been married nearly 2 yrs now and things had change recently with their relationship. Just last December the came back to the Philippines to supposedly visit the wife but he only stayed there for 2 days. He confessed to his wife that he has another girl in manila and he is no longer in love with his wife. He told her that he arrived a week early and stayed there with the girl. The wife was devastated about it but still hoping that the husband will come back to her. Anyway after he came back to the US he tried ignoring her. Just 3 days ago the husband called the wife telling her that he has a big problem. He said that she needs to sign a divorce paper because his previous marriage to his was not final when they got married in the philippines and the ex wife is filing a case to him about bigamy. Anyway, my question is : IS this possible that the divorce was not final?
Thank you very much for any input..
Riza
Hi Riza
Sad naman niyan. I think he just want out of the marriage, but before that alibis..there might be another other reason behind what he said..I hope your friend and husband could still save their marriage..sayang naman. Btw, thanks sa reply my AOS was approved without interview and all..blessing talaga!!
Thank u,
Sally

All I hear is whining Rockhouse...talking about how horrible and empty American women are. Sheesh...I'd love to hear the other side of the story from the ex's as I'm sure you weren't such an angel yourself. Whatever happened to personal responsibility...or is that only convenient when it comes to not placing any blame on yourself?
A note to why this is a topic for those who aren't Filipino...it's a public forum. I'm sure if there was a conversation in another regional thread about how awful Filipina women are you would go in and defend yourselves all the same.
Lol, yeah, i guess i need to take a look at myself and be honest, like how i have custody of both my kids now because my ex went to jail for beating up her new husband forcing my kids and him to lock themselves in their bedroom as she beat holes through the door while she screamed that she was gonna stab him in the heart. You dont know ###### about me. The TS asked why we prefer Filipinas. I prefer them because AS A WHOLE, ALL the American women i have dated, as well as those friends have dated/married don't hold a candle to the Filipinas. Sorry if it pisses you off, it's not whining, it's observations and experiences that i am typing on a forum....deal with it.
BTW, if your not an American woman then why get so bent outta shape?

You must be from the North!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What school taught u history? I'm a 42 year old white American man, divorced after 20 years, to your typical American Gold digging woman!! I went thru 6 different adultries with her!!!!!!!! Stop reading comic books and look into the world!! WAKE UP!!!!!!!!! YOUR DREAMING!!!!!!!!!!!since not all men in america are running to the philipeans for a wife i would say that not all men in the united states are thinking the same as these men here. there are alot of men who are happy with the american woman so that means there is nothing wrong with us at all.also the men here have grown up in the same society as we have so if they call us spoiled then what are they then? not only american woman can be spoiled u know.
the reason the woman here act the way they do is because of how they were treated in the past. the woman stayed home, raised the man's kids, cooked, cleaned, ironed her husbands clothes...etc and then man was out sleeping with his secretary...secretary gets pregnant....man dumps wife for his lover...leaving wife and kids to defend themself....thus, womans rights evolved. courts started siding with the woman because she was doing her job as a wife....man broke up the marriege with cheating...woman gets alimony....man gets mad because he has to support his ex and kids....man hate american woman for that.
example 2. woman supports man while he go gets his education and then dumps wife when he gets his degree.
yes believe it or not...this is what changed the woman back in the day. they had to become self sufficient for her own sake as well as her kids.
sorry guys...cant change history.
sorry girls from philipeans....these men probably are afraid of american woman as they are a threat to his earnings where u girls dont know the rules here in the united states and they feel safe that if u divorse them u wont get half of what they make. they will threaten to send u back to the philipeans and out of fear u wont do anything to hurt them.
Yep. Needs professional help.
is that the best u can do? i speak the truth and u think i need professional help? i tell it like it is and u think i need professional help? are u kidding me?

is this going to be a bash the american woman thread?
Thats what I am wondering
No offense meant to all american ladies here
OK!!! On the other side of the record is the real truth about American women!!! The first thing an American woman looks for in a man is his WALLET. And as far as staying home, the Filipino woman misses her husband and truely loves him and shows him appreciation for what he does and does for her unlike American women meeting her husband at the door complaining about what she has to do all day and demanding him to take her shopping to buy her some new shoes. APPRECIATION MEANS ALOT MORE THAN EXPECTATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!
no offense taken by u but these kind of threads usually are taken to start bashing american woman by the american men. they usually blame american woman for everything. they dont tell that the reason they are the way they are is because american men have differnt standards when it comes to an american woman. what a filipeno woman gets away with...an american woman cant and then the bashing starts.
such as if an american woman wants to help her family financially the man tells her to tell her family to get off their lazy butts and get a job...if a filipeno wants to send money to their family they are saints for it and praised. the american man wont tell u that part of the story. if the american woman wants to stay home and raise her kids she is know as a free loader, but if a filipeno woman dont work and stays at home with the kids...oh how sweet she is to want to stay at home with her kids and husband.
just telling u...we american woman are not as bad as these men say but it is them who has the double standards. im not here to bash the men here but just to set the record straight.

I am american citizen man. I was married 20 years to an american woman-first marriage.I dated many american women after i divorced until i met my asawa and we have been married 6 mos. My life now as compared to what it was with what i see and know about american women is great. This is not somethin that i planned to do nor did i ever imagined i would do to travel halfway around the world to get my wife. I praised and thank God everyday for the life i have now. I would recommend to any and all men that if they want true fulfillment and life with their marriage,GO TO THE PHILIPPINES..
