Hello All!
I would like to let you know my visa was approved today at US Consulate in Montreal. It was a very straightforward and smooth process; appointment was at 7:50 am and we were lined up since 7:30am. A security officer reviewed our passports and validated with his appointments list for the day.
Then we passed through a Security Scanner (same as at the airports) and took elevator to 1st floor. Then we were given a small instructions card to organize passports and civil docs along with police certificates and photos per family member (one copy must be included per document). 15 mins later we were called to window 8 to double-check all those documents while asking questions to each family member just to confirm name, age, and previous US travels.
Everything at that stage went pretty smooth and it took roughly 10 mins.
Then we were asked to wait seated for next step (fingerprints). 10 mins later we were called to window 5 and had fingerprints; everything went well and no additional questions arose at that stage; it took no more than 4 mins.
So last step was on its way then and after waiting around 30 mins we were called to window 3…officer took us the oath and with such an amazing kindness asked the following questions:
1. Highest degree
2. Which state are you planning to move to
3. Current role
4. If I was self-petitioner
He grabbed a white sheet and told “visa is approved”, while returning all original documents and just keeping passports to stamp the visa.
Now as per CEAC website visa status changed to Issued.
Thank you all for the valuable experience shared, wishing the best of luck to those who are still waiting for their interviews.
