    The fact that you sent all of this info to the embassy without them asking for it kind of explains the response they gave you, in my mind anyway. They basically told you, "Bring the proof of your relationship to your interview". I don't see anything in there that is worrisome now. They were just giving you back your documents and basically telling you to wait until your interview day and the Consular Officer will request what they want to have, to satisfy them. Update this thread after the interview and let us know!

    Manila, Philippines started doing this with the biometrics and document review being conducted at an offsite Visa Applicant Center (VAC) last October. I don't know if it has improved things or not.

    This happens to many many K-1 Visa applicants... The reason I was told is that from the NVC stage all the way through the interview, the K-1 visa is treated as an immigrant visa. Once the Consular Officer approves it, it then has to go to the Nonimmigrant visa section for visa issuance because it is technically a nonimmigrant visa. The "Application Received" status happens when the NIV section gets the application to begin their Administrative Processing. This happened on Jaycel's CEAC status before it changed to "Approved" and then "Issued" after they completed the Admin Processing

    Ok sounds pretty thorough... did it also include the time period between when your I-129F was filed and the time you submitted the proof to the embassy?

    Yes... I've heard that a 221g on white paper is a "Soft" refusal meaning it's easily corrected. What proof did you guys submit?

    Interesting.... This is the first I've heard of a 221g being issued outside the confines of an actual interview. Well, at least now you know you need to beef up your proof of relationship before the interview.

    Then that is what they will need to overcome the 221g refusal and approve the visa... The appointment in July is for a follow-up interview? What did you submit for the first interview for proof of relationship?

    Can I assume that the writing at the bottom of the 221g form says you need to return with Proof of Relationship? Because that part is not circled in the pre-printed section

    It's normal at any embassy where the Consular Officer does not have enough proof of relationship to approve the visa. Your only recourse is to gather all of the proof of a bona fide relationship you have and submit it.

    Yes, Jaycel's EAD said 6 or 7 months until case decision on the day her case was approved.

    Current individual annual income is calculated using the gross earnings from the paystub multiplied by how many pay dates are in a year for them. (If they are paid every two weeks that would be x26, if paid weekly then x52)

    Maybe your file made it from the NBC to the local office and they took a look at it and decided your case was strong enough to warrant an interview waiver 🤞

    My thought on this is that she will probably claim all of this anyway and if I were in your shoes I would want to be out in front of it by reporting it on my own instead of having to respond to accusations later. Threats to call ICE as a basis for VAWA is only valid if you actually made those threats to her. You haven't. You have filed for divorce and you are making the report to ICE based on her behavior.

    I would agree with @appleblossom on this one. Normally I would also say don't bother but I think she is dangerous and is exactly the type of person that ICE should be going after. I would also use the online tip form for fraud through USCIS as well so that she's on record there too. https://www.uscis.gov/report-fraud/uscis-tip-form
