I've got a date update on my CEAC. But status is the same *fingers crossed*
-
That's promising. Mine still says refused and case hasn't been updated since September...

I can’t seem to find an answer anywhere online about similar cases. Someone on Reddit posted that apparently they receive new visa numbers on the 3rd of this month. I have no way of checking the validity of this.

I had my interview Sep 6th (EB1). I received a verbal approval from the officer at the consulate. Yesterday morning I received a notice indicating that they will be holding my passport until after October 1st because they’ve hit their limit of Visas issued for the fiscal year. I’m just hoping that this means they actually get to work on it in the first week of October and not closer to November.

You’re a legend. Thanks for sharing

Could I ask you where you read this information? Was that info specific to the Montreal embassy?
-
So in that case, would that mean that MTL would still schedule EB 1 and EB 2 categories for interviews?
-
Looks like they were referring to EB3 Unfortunately, I’ve sort of stopped believing that priority of EB categories has any play.

The feeling is mutual...I am Jan 2023. Right there with ya haha.

If we are following any sense of logic, I’m anticipating @Wincity to get their letter next, out of all active EB forum folks. So, I’m rooting for Wincity. That said, I’m chatting with my lawyers tomorrow and will share our (the forum’s) observations of what happened last year vs what’s happening now. I’ll see if they can advise on any action….

I imagine we will see some sort of movement over the next week or two. Them putting this information back on is some sort of indication that they are at least not falling behind where they were. It's not exactly a commitment to progress but it's positive communication nevertheless.

Someone messed up the google sheets doc again...all usernames are exchanged with the wrong dates...
-
Those family based forums are very hard to read. People complaining about their 2-3 month wait after DQ is a tough pill to swallow for us employment based folks haha
-
You and me both!
-
XD haha …comedy is good medicine
-
Nothing on my end yet. EB1, DQ Jan 2023, so…expecting
-
Ya, I noticed that too. Someone kept changing the username in my row. I changed it back twice. Then it changed again. I just gave up...

https://ca.usembassy.gov/embassy-consulates/consular-operations-updates/ Read the emergency section. You can check with your legal team if you feel you can qualify for it

Ya. This isn’t anything new or shocking for anyone in the Montreal Queue. My friend was also EB1- he is now in the US. His wait was about 16 months from DQ date. They operate on a first in, first out basis but then give preference to the folks getting married. Unless you can expedite your case- mentally prepare for a long wait. Trust me, it sucks waiting every month thinking something will change

Hi everyone. I’m new here but have been checking from time to time. EB1 with a DQ of Jan 5, 2023. So…also expecting to be in the next batch of ILs. i know how frustrating this wait is…I’ll update when/ if I receive it
