  1. Considering how quickly they've been processing EB visas lately (at a rate of 2 months per month), I don't believe you're completely screwed. If your new DQ is in March-April, you might still receive an interview letter within 6 months or possibly even sooner.
    Best of luck!

  2. Thank you once more. Regarding resetting the DQ date, we received a response from NVC stating that in my situation, I will retain the DQ date if I need to move between consulates. Below is the excerpt from their email addressing the reset question: I hope this will help others!
  3. Thank you for your quick reply. I am uncertain about the 2-3 months timeline for AOS, as my lawyer had mentioned 14 months a year ago, but now suggests it could be as short as six months. However, my primary concern revolves around my son's inclusion in my application. He moved back to Canada when he turned 21, and I aim for him to receive his Green Card simultaneously.
  4. Two weeks ago, I successfully requested the transfer of my EB1 application to my home country. This alteration requires our family to relocate from the USA to our home country once we receive the interview letter. This transition may disrupt my children's schooling and result in considerable expenses. Considering Montreal's processing time is advancing twice as fast, I kindly seek advice from members of this forum on whether I should request the NVC to transfer my file back to Montreal.
  5. Hello everyone, I'm reaching out to seek some advice from you. Over five years ago, I relocated from Canada to the USA on a TN visa and transitioned to an O1 visa a year and a half ago. Like many here, I'm striving to obtain a green card (EB1) through consulate processing and my DG date is May 2023. I opted not to proceed with Adjustment of Status (AOS) to maintain travel flexibility. After nearly 10 months of waiting for an interview date and learning about the numerous issues with the Montreal consulate and their delayed issuance of Interview Letters (ILs), I consulted with an attorney about the possibility of transferring my application to the US consulate in my home country, Morocco. Before I proceed and request to NVC to relocate my case to Morocco, I have some questions and concerns I hope someone here can address: Will transferring my case from Montreal affect my DQ date? I hold dual citizenship but only possess a Canadian passport. Can I utilize the Canadian passport to apply for a US visa in Morocco? Thank you.
  6. No progress yet in my EB1 case. My DQ is mid-May 2023, and the only communication I've received since then is the generic letter every 60 days from the NVC instructing me to continue waiting for the Montreal consulate. Good luck everyone.
  7. It doesn't make sense that they didn't issue any IL since last May (over six months) knowing that they issue EB visas every month and the time between IL and visa issuance is about 2-3 months.
  8. You are right! We should not be suffering only because we had to apply through Montreal consulate and we should not be waiting ~2 years while others are only waiting for few months. We really need to figure out, as a group, what to do to change it. Any ideas?
  9. We are all waiting and very disappointed with how things are going with Montreal consulate. Is there anything we can do to have our voices heard? Based on the chart below that I created from available data, It looks like numbers of visas issued are going down instead of going up to counter the "COVID" caused backlogs:
