Hey everyone, I got this letter from the NVC last week, can someone please tell me what it means. I already entered the U.S on a K-3 visa since September 2007 and I don't know why they still scheduled me an interview in my home country when I am already in the U.S. I thought the I-130 will automatically be cancelled when they approve your I-129F.. Plus I was wondering, maybe that was the reason why my AOS application was transferred to the California Service Center since most of the security checks and that all has already been done by the NVC and the the IV unit at the consulate in home country because I have never seen or heard a K-3 getting transferred to the CSC.
Your input will be greatly appreciated, please don't just read and leave, let me know what you think.
Thanks y'all....Below is the letter :
United State Department of States
National Visa Center
32 Rochester Avenue
Portsmouth, NH 08801-2909

Dear JACKSON BROWN:
The enclosed information pertains to JACKSON BROWN's interest in immigrating to the United States of America . The National Visa Center(NVC) has completed
its processing of JACKSON BROWN's petition, case number LGS********, and forwarded it to the American Embassy/Consulate in Johannesburg
An immigrant visa interview has been scheduled for the applicant at the U.S Embassy/Consulate in Johannesburg on July 15, 2008
When communicating with the Embassy/Consulate by e-mail, letter or fax, always refer to the applicant's name and case number as they appear below.
Case Number: LGS**********
Principal Applicant Name JACKSON BROWN
Preference Category: CR1-CONDITIONAL SPOUSE OF U.S CITIZEN
Foreign State of Changeability: SOUTH AFRICA..

I have no Idea, but I think the NBC sends out the Appointments letters.....Not sure though, someone will come around and tell you better.
Good luck
-
Yes, you can file the EAD first and later file for the AOS before your I-94 expires.
-
Me too, I mailed my DS-3025 from my country hoping to get RFE but I didn't.........I have the I-693A from Dr Arnold in box just in case the RFE comes
-
If your husband don't have a co-sponsor, you really don't to file the AOS applications until you have everything and met the requirement because you have a K3 visa which is valid for two years, or better still you should had filed for EAD first both of you work and save up enough then file for the AOS at a later time when you have met the poverty guideline.....I really don't know what's going to happen but if there was a way I will say cancel the AOS application and file later when you have met the requirements, I am not sure if that's possible, but definitely someone will come around and tell you better..
Good luck....
-
Congratulations !!!!
-
I am not sure about which one to check but I do know that regardless of where you live all AOS Application are sent to the Chicago lockbox..
Good luck .

HELLO
AM CONFUSED HERE FOLKS...MY AOS CASE IS PENDING AT THE NBC AND I WANT TO KNOW IN THE EVENT IT GETS TRANSFERED WHERE IT WOULD GO??IS IT THE LOCAL OFFICE(CHARLOTTE NC)OR ONE OF THE SERVICE CENTERS??
BY THE WAY WHICH OF THE SERVICE CENTERS PROCESS FAMILLY BASED AOS CASES??THE USCIS WEBSITE FAILS TO SPECIFY IN THE PROCESSING TIMES PAGES??
ALSO HOW DO I READ THIS WEBSITE(VJ) PROCESSING TIMES WITH ALL THE AVERAGES....HOW DO I READ AND UNDERSTAND IT??
PS :I GOT MY EAD CARD IN THE MAIL YESTERDAY....ALHAMDULILAH....
If you are on K-1 there is strong possibility that your case might transferred to the CSC for faster processing if not, your case will be transferred to your local office where they will schedule you an Interview....Help us to help you more by filling your timeline
-
Finally, my interview notice came.. It'll be on July 22.
Congratulations

Hi Everyone,
Exactly two weeks ago we sent my husband's AOS application to the Chicago office. We sent it priority/certified mail, but still have not heard anything and our check has not been cashed yet. When I check the delivery status online, it says it was delivered on May 26th.
Should I be worried? Oh, I should also mention that today marks 90 days since he entered the US! Yikes!!!
As always, thanks for your advice!!!
- Katie
Don't worry, your check will be cashed soon, some peoples checks were cashed one month after the sent their package, so i will say give it some more time.
Good luck
-
Adjustment of Status card production ordered, I am so nervous - I have read the e-mails probably 10 times till now.
Good luck to all.
Congratulations!
-
Hi!
I just received an email saying that on June the 2nd, my current status is: Card production ordered.
Does it mean I will receive the green card by mail? without interview?
Just scared to make jump with happyness for nothing!
Thank you for your answers!
Don't be confused, It's normal some case are approved without an Interview and I guess yours was one of them
Congratulations and you can jump and celebrate

If your step father lives with you then he gonna use form I-864A but if he doesn't then he will use form I-864. Regardless, you are the primary sponsor so you still need to fill out form I-864 even though you are getting a co-sponsor.
Good luck.
