  1. Hello Vj members!

My husband AOS was transfered to California service centre on the 13th june and was tourched

today 06/19/08,he was here on K-3 visa.

My question is do we need to expect any sort of interview for the greencard

or if approved he will receive his card in the mail?

pls I need to be clarified on this matter.

    Thanx for your helpful answers.

    Bless you all.

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done, counting from when USCIS received it. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. To receive e-mail updates, follow the link below to register.

I am on K-3 as well as my case was transferred to CSC last month, there is a strong possibility that you might not get an interview.

    Good luck

  2. My EAD took over 100days before it was approved, so I made an Infopass appointment at my local office and I was told they no longer give out Interim EAD. Instead the IO emailed the NBC on my behalf to expedite the process since it's over 90days and within a week I got the approval email saying EAD card ordered............ I don't know about your local office they may and the may not give you the Interim EAD...

    Good luck

  3. I am in the same situation, I applied for SSN two weeks ago and still haven't heard nothing yet, I keep calling everyday If they are done with the verification but it's the same old BS....It's freaking annoying, before my EAD was approved, I be like God, please let me get my EAD soon so i can start working ASAP.....Now I have the freaking EAD still can't work or drive Argghhh!!!!!!!!!!.............

  4. I've heard/read somewhere that they instituted a new law and now USCIS is obligated to do something with AOS cases within 90 days, or else. Is this true? Does anyone have any information regarding this and/or links to *.gov sites describing it? What can we do if they've done absolutely nothing since receiving the case (haven't even assigned it to an officer)? What are they obligated to do, if anything?

I know the USCIS has to make a decision on the EAD within 90 days since it was received, I don't know nothing about AOS and the 90 days lol........Hope someone will tell you more

  5. Hi everybody,

I just checked my email and had received the "card production ordered" message from USCIS!:dance:

Thanks for everything; it was great to undertake this journey with all of you, and I will check in regularly to find out how everyone is doing. I hope all Feb filers will get their cards soon and I wish all of you best of luck building a life in this country, and lots of happiness in your marriages.

Edited to add a special thank you for AnthonyJulie, you're the best!!!!

Congratulations Carpe Diem and JaLove

  6. No, you don't need SSN to apply for AOS and the A# is on your visa not the I-94

Pretty much the question is the subject line, SSA says it will take four weeks to get the number, can we apply without it? What do we put in that space if we can.

No need SSN. Put 000-00-0000 in the space.

Also the A# is the number on the I-94?

    YEP

The A# is on the visa not on the I-94 :)
