That is an objection that registers only with those who consider progressive to be a desirable paradigm for how we raise our tax revenues.
For many (most?) in this thread, it is not.
    Silly lib.

And when you get actual facts bring them. Now in these other countries businesses are also allowed to take deductions for costs of doing business like we do in the U.S. further lowering their tax liabilities. The object is to make your country attractive to businesses.

Not all people are cut out to live in the US.... some people quake at the challenges of living in the most ethnically, culturally and religiously diverse country in the world. We have a very large population, and a tremendous amount of freedom. There is a price for everything. Choosing a small, homogenous country that excercises a high level of centralized control might be less frightening to some people... they might need that womblike, warm-fuzzy feeling, and the sense of a big brother watching over them....keeping them safe from the horrible neanderthals. There is a place for everyone in this world. Viva diversity.

Ok, I see. You just refused to comment on the heart of my arguments which were support with facts. You kept focussing in that A** H**e of Chavez. Fine, it's you prerogative to do that. In Venezuela there is name for people that do that, but oopps I can't say that here.
    Summarizing :
    Venezuela laws:
    - No Death Penalty.
    - No Stand your ground law
    - The Max penalty is 30 years.
    - No life without parole.
    - Citizens do not have the right to bear arms.
But still, Venezuela has one of the highest rate of homicide/murder per capite in the planet.
    Have a great day!

What stereotype? There are a million people on facebook, CONGRESSMEN, SENATORS and even our own PRESIDENT who are demanding "justice" in this case yet when HUNDREDS of our citizens are killed every weekend there's not a peep. As a matter of fact, there are many examples in music, movies, and popular culture itself where these same people actively discourage people from working with the police, investigators, prosecutors, etc., because they feel it's "snitching."
Yet, for some reason (and I really, really, REALLY doubt it's "justice") they want someone arrested and sent to trial for an alleged crime.
    Ask yourself one question.... why?

Another misreading of the facts, or more intentional deception?
According to the state's own net system power report released for 2009 and 2010, the state imports nearly a quarter of its electricity, mostly from coal plants-Nearly a third of its electricity comes from coal. http://www.energy.ca.gov/2009publications/CEC-200-2009-010/CEC-200-2009-010-CMF.PDF So....California hasn't contributed any solution, other than exporting coal pollution to other states, while importing the electricity produced by coal burning plants. Typical self-congratulatory california-progressive BS. Coal provides the second largest source of energy for the state of california.
Not only that, but the largest source of energy in the state is natural gas........er, wasn't it you Fancypants, that was here a few days ago whining about fracking?
http://www.kcet.org/updaily/socal_focus/commentary/la-vitamin-report/is-fracking-happening-in-los-angeles-34833.htmlIn summary, around 80% of California's energy comes from non renewable and "dangerous" sources......coal, natural gas, and nuclear..... and california has exported much of the ecological cost of this energy production- Not eliminated it, but simply exported it to other states. Now californians are here preaching to the rest of the country about "liberal wisdom," and how republicans aren't on board with handicapping a vital energy industry that most of the country (including california) is dependent upon. Fracking unbelievable....

Sorry, this whole discussion is really starting to bug me. The race of these three? Human! Why should any other sub-race need to be designated? The genetic differences between an African Pigmy and a Blond Haired German is so slight it doesn't even bear notice. Until we stop with the hyphenated categorization of people we will never get along.

That's a nice puff piece but it is really short on facts. Honestly, I'm not sure if there is really much of the Affordable Care Act that is yet in effect. Can anyone explain how it has affected them or someone they know? Two years later, and with the 10 year cost now estimated to exceed $1.7 trillion (if I remember the latest CBO estimate correctly), I would expect to be seeing results. So where are they?
As far as the OP's allusion to the fact that the healthcare system may fall apart, people may be burdened, etc. if Obamacare is repealed, I call total BS. Healthcare will return to what it was before. That wasn't fantastic, but I don't see how it's gotten any better.

First of all I think your time line is a bit off, many of the harshest attacks came on her before she had done anything except be known as Palins Daughter.
So she was actually less of a public figure than Fluke, Fluke opened her mouth testifying as an expert or knowledgeable person, actually she never did "testify" the forum she spoke at was nothing more than a press showing thrown together at the last minute when she was rejected in the real hearing.
Even Palins 14 year old daughter was accused of being a prostitute when she was in NY with her mother.
Listen to yourself parsing words and determining exactly who is able to treat women this way and who can't.
Really it's not surprising, we saw all the back flips we needed to see when the Phony womens Rights groups sat on their hands while the President had Gov't employees on their knees.
There are no core beliefs or principles, only politics and goals there of.

The problem with the green energy sycophants is force, coupled with a morbid sense of superior intellect. Because the public and the taxpayers don't quite get it - they must be forced to except the green energy boondoggle and fund it to the tune of untold billions. Yes, the public is too stupid to swallow "hook-line-and-sinker" the sustainable green energy black-hole as it is today. Which has yet to sustain even one fleet of commercial trucks, sustain one commercial aircraft at 35,000 ft or produce an affordable automobile that performs equally to a gas powered vehicle -- without the need for a gas powered engine as the main source of power. Let us know when you can pull up to a pump and fill your automobile's tank with algae.
Regardless of what the green energy sycophants and the politicians that beat that drum think, the public is pretty good at picking winners.
    Cell phones vs home phones
    DVD vs VHS
    CD vs cassette
    McDonald's vs Burger King
    Walmart vs mom-n-pop
    snail mail vs email
Apple and its array of 'i' gadgets
No one had to force the public or decide what was best for them, the public willingly forked over their hard earned cash for those products which fueled (no pun intended) the technology to improve and sustain those industries.

The alternatives are not cost effective yet. When you and your clueless brethren get the costs of the alternatives down to even near what us cost conscious people want then that technology will not need HUGE subsidies and laws forcing us to use the technology. The alternatives need to stand on their own. As it stands now it is riddled with corruption. The money could be used to pay down a huge debt but is used to pay off donors. As it stands now we are being ripped off and anyone that advocates ripping us off is an idiot.

If the show is so good then get off of tax payer funded stations and go and compete against Rush on the open market. Why am I funding NPR anyway?
