They might initially schedule on a single day of the week but when they need to open more slots beyond that they can be any day
  2. Thanks

I also agree with those who say it's a bit premature to start worrying to much about the possibility of a positive test result.  While it is theoretically possible,,,, I think it is also fair to say that a positive sputum test is unlikely.  For the vast majority it turns into an annoying and frustrating 2-3 month delay but nothing more.   Once she is actually told when her results date is, you could already go on ustraveldocs and start trying to schedule a new interview a few days after that.
  3. Thanks

On day 3 of sputum sample collection, SLEC staff will give your fiancee a paper with the exact date for the release of test results, which will be 8 weeks counting from sample collection.  Hope that your fiancee does not get a call from SLEC anytime before the release date.  In the unlikely event she gets a call from SLEC before then, that means she tested positive for TB and will need to undergo 6-month treatment.  So when it comes to sputum testing, no news is good news.

Some things are blessings in disguise. Spring would definitely be a better time to have her come. Hard enough having to get used to a new place without adding ice and snow to it. She has probably never experienced anything below 65 degrees.

Exactly correct! I think on my entire time on this forum I can recall maybe 2 that had to get treatment. Don't waste energy even thinking about it until you find out.

One more thing that you need to be aware of @RA_PH1 is that the 6 month validity of the visa started the first day of her medical. So this means you will now only have about 4 months after she completes sputum testing to get to America.

Depending on her age, the probability of her sputum being positive is approximately from 0.4% to 2.4% if over age 50.  I wouldn't worry about it, almost certainly she will be negative.

However, you need to wait about 2 months for the results of the Sputum test!

CEAC says my case is in Ready status too. I was wondering if I should wait or go ahead and start to do the steps that @madmanmike outlined.

From my research this looks about right, but it was great someone else was able to confirm with me as well. Just like what @Chancy said #3 she gets a deposit slip generate from the embassy's website.

This is my understanding of the remaining process now that CEAC says ready status:
    Fiancé complete DS-160
-Print confirmation page and/or email a copy of it to yourself.  Generate a deposit slip from US Manila Embassy link and bring to a local RCBC to pay.
    https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/pmisdepositslip.htm?amount=265&country=philippines
-Make copy of deposit slip and keep receipt  Schedule an interview date through the link: https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-appointmentschedule.asp
-Will need Confirmation Code from DS-160 Confirmation page
-Will need Receipt Number from Deposit Slip Schedule a medical exam at SLMCEC https://slec.ph/registration/us/
-Note required documents https://slec.ph/registration/us/visa-applicant.php?s=required-documents#required-documents Prepare for Embassy interview/attend interview appointment
-Ensure all documents are prepared in pre-interview requirements

-Page not reachable from US. Need VPN to another country that is available like Asia or have fiancé register from Philippines.
-Choose which on-site (Face-to-face) session will be at such as Manila, Cebu, or Davo site.
-Registration requires to scan passport and visa
-Receive CFO certificate (temporary via email) Buy ticket and prepare for immigration to US!! Let me know if I am missing anything on this list

Thank you for this. Looking at the payment coupon you take to the bank, it calls for a reference number. I assume that is what you get after your submit the DS-160?

Just because sometimes I need things ELI5:
    1. She completes the DS-160, and then there is a link to submit it.
    2. After submitting, she gets some receipt number needed to make the payment.
    3. She takes the cash to RCBC and pays the fees, using the number from #2 above.
    4. She can then go to https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-appointmentschedule.asp and schedule the interview.
    5. Following that, St Luke’s can be scheduled.
    6. When physical & interview are complete, start jumping thru the CFO hoops to reach the endgame.

Is that about it? If so, you guys might want to put these steps in a FAQ or something somewhere. I’m sure many folks have the same questions.

Thank you for your time. I truly appreciate it. Is been quite a road so far, but we can see the end finally.

RA_PH1 got a reaction from RO_AH in Birth Certificate for Philippines K1 Visa
It is true, I am very far removed from the Philippines culture. As I grew up in the US, I don't have any idea of how the culture is there. This is why I am here asking for advice and throwing out some possible ideas before I do anything damaging like making the waves you referenced.

My only concern is illegibility of the PSA birth certificate. I am concern it will not be accepted by USCIS on the I-129F petition or during any other part of the process up to the Visa issuance. This is why I am here seeking information to see if there is a way to get this resolved before we run into the issue. Rather be proactive than reactive 🙂

Kind of disappointing that we will need to "grease some palms" just to get them to do their job 🙃. If I was in your situation, I wouldn't mind paying that amount to get it fixed too. But the problem is finding someone who has that connection in the first place.

Wise move.  It probably would be a problem at the embassy and would hold up visa issuance until it was resolved.

    That makes sense.

Her LCRO copy is from July 2022 when we filed her petition. It's been way longer than 2 months. If the LCRO did fixed it, then it may not have been sent to PSA, which is why the past several months have been the same illegible copy.

Like I mentioned earlier, it seems the common denominator is the LCRO. I will see if she can follow up with them to ensure they had sent the information to PSA.
