  1. Just an update on my I-485:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On June 16, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

    Then touched today.

Is that mean my card is on the way?

  3. Congrats on your baby's CRBA approval.Get a Philippine passport for your child so your baby won't need to pay exit permit.

2 passports makes your child Dual Citizen.Bureau of Immigration told me that.

  4. Hi,K1 visa is good for 6months,while your I-94 is 90days for marriage.

I had my K1 visa October and I got here in the US January 18.After my 1week entry here..I went to SSA applied ssn with my maiden name then after we got married last February,I went back to SSA again to changed my ssn to married name..didn't encounter problems as long that your I-94 is still valid atleast 1month.When I went back to SSA to changed to married name,my K1 visa was expired already but my I-94 was still valid...

I-94 which is valid for 90days and you have to get married before it expires while K1 visa allows you to enter US before it expires.K1 visa is 6months validity.

So If I were you,I will get SSN now before my I-94 expires.Nung nag-open ako ng bank account, applied for state ID,they asked for my ssn.You might need ssn to open an account.

I saw your timeline. You got ur visa May 20,so the expiration of ur visa is 6months from the date you had your medical,if its still like that...not July like you said

Then you arrived here June 5,so your I-94 expiration is on September 5 pa.May time ka pa mag-apply ng ssn mo using your maiden name then change it to married name after you got married.Make sure to change it to married name atleast a month before your I-94 expires.

Btw,best wishes to your upcoming wedding :star:

  5. mga mommies, may questions ako.kc im traveling with my 9month old baby girl.

i dont know how to pack her things kc shes taking a baby formula?pwede ba ako magdala sa diaper bag nya ng 2-3 liters ng water and ung milk nya nkalagay sa container?malakas kc sya mag milk.or pwede ko na lagyan ng water mga bottles nya punuin ko un 9oz?and allow ba magdala ng mga biscuits?panu ko i prepare un mga gamit ng baby ko?bka nmn matulungan nu ako..pls

un 10yr old boy ko pwde ba sya magdala sa hadncarry nya ng mga snacks nya for his own kc gs2 nya magdala and also un ds nintendo allowed ba un sa handcarry

  6. Girl thank you so much. siguro subukan ko pumunta sa ibang ss office. gusto ko na kasi machange yung ss card sa married name ko para makakuha na ko ng state id.

Syanga pla pag kukuha ka State ID need mo din SSN tska kelangan kuha ka state ID at least a month bago ma-expire I-94 mo or else papabalikin ka pag may EAD or GC kna.

May filipino restaurant dun.Mas gusto ko dyan kesa d2 kc mas marami pinoy dyan eh...d2 konti lng.

  7. oo girls, yun din pagkakaalam ko just go back so ss office present your marriage certificate then they wil change your id to to your married name. ang nakakaasar pa the first time i went there to get my ssn card in my maiden name the black guy was so kind and he told me just go back there after we get married para ma change id ko sa married name ko. then we got back yesterday there i ended up with a filipino officer and he told me pumunta ko sa local office ng imigration and report my marriage tapos balik na lang ako dun pag may stamp na passport ko ng k3 visa. badtrip na badtrip tlaga ako kasi i explained everything he said mali info ako.

kaya eto im wondering if mga k1 visa holder dito after u got married ba nagreport pa kayo sa local office ng immigration. or aos na agad.

ano ba tlga gawin after marriage? kasi alam ko report sa phil embassy yung marriage then gather paper for aos and do your aos.

anyone from jacksonville or florida who got their ssn card in their married name and ganun din ba sabi ng ss officer.

    kaasar tlga.

    thanks everyone!!

Hi Im in Florida too and I went to Jacksonville,FL for my biometrics for AOS and EAD last April 24.

I went to SSA 1week after my entry here in the US then went back after we got married to changed it to married name..the girl who assisted me when I applied for ssn told me to come back after we got married and just bring our marriage certificate and my passport with my I-94 on it and didn't encounter any problem even the girl who assisted me to changed my ssn to married name is not the same girl who assisted me when I applied for ssn.

I dont know the report of marriage at the Immigration..wlang service nun sa local immigration office, masasayang lng oras mo.If I were you tawag ka uli sa SSA office nyo then ask mo kung ano need mo to change your ssn to married name then pag sinabi na marriage certificate lng at yung passport mo....punta ka in person then sbhin mo na tumawag ka at yun lng pnapadala sau,or hanapin mo yung black guy na nag-assist sayo nung nag-apply kna ssn mo.Ang iba kc na staff sa SSA mga wlang alam pagdating sa mga immigration status natin.

You only need to report your marriage at the Philippine Embassy for renewal or amendment of passport...not for changing ssn to married name..hndi yun requirements.

    USCIS/DHS Jacksonville

    4121 Southpoint Blvd.

    Jacksonville,FL 32216

  8. can u guys help me..it is also about changing of my address..

--im hir for 7 months and i didnt file for the AOS yet hopefully this july cuz im jst completing my requirements..

--do i need also to file the AR-11 even if im jst goin to file my AOS nxt month..?

--thus changing of address can get a bad feedback from USCIS regarding my case that im "out of status" for how many months..?

--we already went to USPS or the Post Office hir to change our address..do we still need to file AR-11..?

    Thanks in Advance..

Just use ur new addres in the forms you are going to fill up for AOS application. You only need to file AR-11 for change of address when you have pending application until you become a USC.Once u are USC,no need to notify USCIS anymore. Also, you're husband need to file I-865 too Petitioner/Sponsor Change of address.

But you are ok,since you said you didnt file AOS yet.Just use ur new address in the forms you are going to fill up for AOS.

  9. I dont have any problem w/ my hubby if we talk about food.I cook rice 3x a day and filipino way of cooking foods and he eat whatever I put on the table...:dance:

Same here  I always cook filipino food and rice 2 times a day.

My hubby eats ginisang ampalaya, munggo, tilapia, biko, puto, embutido, almost everything except balut, street food, chicken feet.

Pink is right,pounds/lbs. dito, hndi kilo..kaya mamahalan ka tlga kc konti lng kumpara dyan sa atin na kilogram.

  11. for the USEM we only need to fill up forms DS-156, DS-156k, and DS-157. Is that correct?

  13. I got my welcome Letter on the mail June 2.On May 27,I got email from CRIS saying my GC card production ordered, then June 11 I got one again from CRIS saying the same thing that is my GC card production ordered again...what is this mean????

same happened with mine, after the second card production LUD a couple of days later i got approval letter sent LUD, and then my card turned up a few days later, so hopefully you will have yours in the next 10 days or so.

Thank you for answering tinkerbelluk.I hope I will get it soon.God Bless!

  14. my husband brought longganisa and tuyo back to US the last time.. and i want to bring Pampanga's Best tocino also when i leave.. do they really open ur boxes?

  15. I used 1 balikbayan box and I have 1 luggage and as of my hand carry, I have 1 big purse. The size of my balikbayan box is the same as yours but I bought this balikbayan box cover from balikbayan gear.

    bbox.jpg

I think I paid Php700 for that cover pero it is sulit naman kasi i don't need to put packaging tape around the box to protect it saka incase na may question sayo ang custom kung ano laman ng box mo eh you can easily open it. It is hassle free as you can just unzip the cover and open the box unlike if you are just using the box eh you need to put packaging tape again after the custom's inspection but i hope na syempre na wala kang maencounter na custom prob :star:

There is a cover that has 4 wheels at the bottom so you can easily just pull your box and that is more convenient. It cost Php1500 so it is double the price. But what I did to save is that I bought that Php700 cover and my dad just bought 4 wheels in the hardware and he installed it at the bottom part :D I think I paid Php100 for those 4 wheels. O di ba nakasave? :P I saw kasi kung ano yung itsura ng wheels so I know what kind of wheels to buy. Yung wheels nya eh yung prang sa cabinet or drawer na wheels. Maybe you'll think na it is kinda pricey pero the quality of it is sturdy naman at talgang pangmahabang byahe at pwede po pa naman cya gamitin ng maraming beses and I find it very convenient in traveling.

Oh btw, here is their website. I bought mine in SM. Their product was also featured on tv.

Anyways, i think i should stop na as I look like one of their endorser na  I am just one of their satisfied customer lang po :P:D

 I had this too for my 2 balikbayan boxes.Pink is right, hassle free lalo na sa U.S.Custom clearance kc they will let you open your baggage,so mag-box kna lng and bilhan mo ng balikbayan gear pra zipper mo na lng sya.

By the way ,nag-exceed din ako before, bale $25 ang fee and Continental airlines told me that I can exceed upto 32kg with that fee.I exceeded 1 luggage and 1 balikbayan box so I paid $50.Better call your airlines,kc minsan iba din ang nsa website nila.

    Happy Trip.

  16. I didn't get a mail from CRIS for the welcome letter but I know about it from looking online, and it stated that on 5-22 the application was approved and I think it said something about the welcome letter. We received the welcome letter, then later on I got the email about card production being ordered... then another email from CRIS saying the application was approved on 6-9 (three weeks later). I think the wording is different in this latest email than the original welcome letter wording (shown in case status online) so there is some difference between the letters, but they seem to say the same thing.

My theory is that the first one is the date your GC is approved, the second one is probably the actual day it was printed and the date that your GC will show as the date it was issued (I haven't seen a green card before though so maybe it doesn't specify that... but I bet it does).

Thanks maliciant.I hope my GC is on the way and for your wife too.

  17. Well I must say the Philippine Consulate in San Francisco is quite efficient. We sent my son's Report of Birth to them via Priority Mail on Saturday and we received our copy and our original documents back today. They processed it the same day they received it.

Yay! good for the both of you :)

Congrats. Now you can apply for a Philippine passport for your son :star:
