  1. hello everyone....i am a mom-to-be....5 months pregnant with our first child...and until now we havent decide what code to use (US or PH family code) to name our baby...im insisting to use the PH code meaning the middle name will be the same as mine like in the philippines but he wants to add his dad's name to our baby's name...i asked him if we can have 2 names then a middle name then the last name (like: john joseph montez benitez)...he said only one name is allowed here (like: john montez benitez)...

so we still dont know what to use...

my question is...to the mom already who gave birth here (or in PH) which code did you use and also for the mom-to-be...what code are you going to use?

    thanks....

My daughter is USC born in the Philippines. So her name is Aeisha Jillhanna Asuncion Smith.Asuncion is my maiden name which is my daughter's middle name.

Here in the US you can choose what ever you want.I have a friend who gave birth here in the US and she decided to have her maiden name as her daughter's middle name.

Her daughter's name is Chelsea Andrea Medina Mosher

  2. My inlaws are the best for me.I used to talked to my Father Inlaw before when I was still in the Philippines. He always sent me emails. When I gave birth to his youngest grand-daughter,he sent me a message that he welcomed us to their family and gave some money for my daughter. The last time we talked was 2008 Valentine's day.Too sad because he died 2days after we got my NOA2 for K1.Wish pa nman nya na makita nya apo nya at makilala ako.

About my Mother Inlaw, she is the best mom-inlaw,akala ko masungit sya kc she is German and lives in Germany.Naghiwalay kc ang parents ng asawa ko and he is the only child of his parents.Back in PI,me and mom-inlaw always talked on emails and txt and sometimes we called each other. Then before we got here, she said that she is planning her trip to go here to attend our court wedding and at the same time to see her only grand-daughter and her son because they didn't see each other for 12years..I was so happy when I finally met her and her husband now, they are so nice and sweet. They had something for me and for my daughter.Pag nasa work hubby ko,pinupuntahan nila kmi ng anak ko tpos isasama nila kmi gumala, magpunta sa park, garden then kain sa labas, tulungan pa ako mag-alaga sa anak ko pra nman daw mkpag-relax ako.Sobrang bait wala ako masabi.Pinatikim ko sila ng Filipino Food and I'm glad kasi nagustuhan nila at di sila pihikan.Sana magkita-kita uli kmi, kasi nman layo nila.

  3. sis ask ko lng dun sa affidavit of parentage my question dun i was married to:_____date:____place:____ilalagay ba ng fiance ko un previous marriage nya.kc divorce sya eh.o hindi na.kc sinulat nya information nung previous marriage nya tpos nilagay lng nya divorce tma ba un?

Yup,need nya ilagay yun kung meron tlga sya previous marriage, then bka hanapin sa interview yung divorce decree so dalhin nyo na lng.

  4. Welcome to USA.

Bluemist...your daughter is an angel...I love the little upside down smilie faces her eyes make when she smiles.

jawi876,Thanks for the compliment for my daughter :star:

  5. sis tnk u so much ha tlgng worried nko sa interview ko..ilang weeks ba bgo nila ako twgn pra masked un interview cbra ng baby ko tpos ilang weeks bgo makuha un citizenship nya?...so u mean once na pass ko na un cert.citizenship nya pwede ko na un ipakita sa embassy tpos print na nila visa ko?hay sna nga gnun kadali...ung isa sa mga form na order from fedex un ds2029 eh nagkamali ako dami mali so gngwa ko download ko ugn ds2029 sa website.iniisp ko kc sayang nmn if order pa ulit ako ng package eh isa lang nmn ung mali....sis,sna nga mdali lng interview skin sna wla na masydo dmi tanong.kinakabahan ako...tnx sa reply mo

Depende...yung iba 1 to 2weeks bago tawagan.Sa anak ko kc tumawag cla sken kinabukasan nung na-received ng ACS CRBA package.Tignan mo yung link ng CRBA ng anak ko sa baba ng pics "Aeisha's CRBA Journey".

Pag approve yung anak mo sa CRBA appointment, sasabihin sayo ng consul na mareceive mo CRBA and US passport in 1 or 2weeks.

Tpos keep fingers crossed lng.

Parang K1 lng ang questions..ask lng nila kung san at kelan kayo nagkakilala, ano work nya,ano work mo,mga tungkol lng sa relationship nyo ang questions.Ganon lng, kaya wag ka kabahan.

  6. Hi,I have a friend who gave birth here in the US and they reported their daughter's birth to Phil.Consulate.As the Bureau of Immigration in the Philippines said to me and to her.As long that you reported the child's birth before the Filipino citizen parent get his/her US Citizensip, the child will be dual-citizenship and it will retain even the Philippine Citizen parent become a US Citizen.Bureau of Immigration said that once the child born to one Philippine citizen parent, the child is automatically dual-citizen.

So my daughter's friend who was born here in the US is already a dual citizen.(US and Philippines). While my daughter born in the Philippines and she had her CRBA at US Embassy, all I need to do is get her a Philippine passport and that's makes her dual-citizen.That's the Bureau of Immigration in the Philippines told me before we left.

Thanks for sharing this. I appreciate it.

    Welcome :star:

  7. me either i dont know anyother country

    thanks for the input

    abby n sheryl

You're welcome.Once your wife become a US Citizen by Naturalization, she can apply for dual citizenship so she can have her Reacquisition/Retention of Philippine Citizenship. That way,she can stay in the Philippines as long that she want and more things she can do.

Tatawagan mo tlga ang ACS-FedEx for pick up.Madali lng nman, pag kumpleto na yung CRBA application package tawagan mo lng cla then sabihin nila sayo na pick up nila kinabukasan, yung iba nman same day nung tumawag cla.

Attend ka ng interview mo sa June 15,interbyuhin ka pa din,di ka made-deny..sbhin lng sau na tapusin ang CRBA then pag ok na balik ka sa knila at ipakita mo yung CRBA certificate at US passport then i-print na nila visa mo.

  9. My wife and I filed a report of birth for our son born here in the US. When she becomes a US Citizen, will he retain his Filipino citizenship or would she have to petition for dual citizenship and list him as a derivitive beneficiary?

  12. Here is my exp at the AOS interview.

We reached the office at San Bernardino at 8:00 AM, there was a McDonalds near by so we thought we will have breakfast before we go in.. we stopped and to my surprise so a lot of ghetto people and my husband told me this is a bad area as they were all looking at us and we were the only ones dressed with clean neat clothes.. anyways we parked our car in the parking lot and walked towards to front door.

Gave the passports and interview letter to the card and went through the check [ just as in airports] He then told us to go to the 2nd floor and put the letter in the center window, we went through the lift and walked inside to find 6 couples waiting before us. we put the letter and were asked to sit, while watching the news channel outside we saw one couple who was with a lawyer get denied and the lawyer was explaining possibilities to re-apply in spanish [ Did not understand a word but knew the gestures].

Our appointment was booked for 9:30 AM and while waiting many more couples walked in with kids and we were looking at them play while the couples that had arrived before us were being called, at 10:05 AM a Filipino elderly man came in and called my name, he did not have a smile.. he had a dead serious face and we thought thats it we are already in the deniel list, I got upset and started getting nervous.

We made us sit and then asked for our ID's, gave him my EAD and he gave his Drivers Licence.. he took the appointment letter and made photocopies and came back and said that he needs to read a long letter and then we need to stand up for the Oath, he read the letter which said that i will be punishable by law............................ and then we took the oath and sat down.

He asked my husband is he was wearing those clothes cause of religion [ He had a black kurta], then there was a 30 mins talk about religion and he does not believe in any but God and explained why he doesnt and whats important is Love [ I was waiting for the stamp ;) ]

He then confirmed all the info on the form, asked if i had anythign with our names on it, gave him bills with same address but they werent joint, gave him our flight confirmation tickets to london, marriage cirtificate, and the svaings bank account [ He dint look at any of these just took them and filed them...then stamped my application as Aprroved :) i gave a big grin and they continued talking about Love and God. He then explained the removal of conditional status and wrote the date so we remember.

He told me he will stamp my passport and be back and then got back saying he needs to go down and do it... we walked along with him and he stamped my passport and wished me luck and success and said keep that smile on your face :)

We thanked him and walked out.

Thank you guys for all those kind words and wishes they really helped :)

    Congrats Charel
