  1. Me and my daughter flew with Continental Airlines..Immigration staff in Guam are very nice.I had my POE in Guam January 2009 and my customs was in Hawaii.People were so nice. They even let me fell in line to US citizen lane.In Guam, the immigration staff just asked for my envelope, took a pic and fingerprint of me..told me to go to the small room there and another guy just asked me who is my petitioner and asked about our daughter and just looked for her US passport then he just told me to get married within 90days and apply for AOS asap and welcome me here in the US and gave my passport back with the I-94 attached on it.

Then instructed me to go to our gate to catch our connecting flight which was in Hawaii...people there were so nice..there's a guy who was waiting for me at the exit of the plane to helped me carry my baggages from teh carousel and brought it to the customs staff and they just asked me whats inside..I just told them its our personal things, thats it and they told me to go to our gate and to catch our connecting flight to Houston and that they will be the one to re-checked in our baggages and that I will get it to my final destination.

    Happy trip to your fiancee.

  2. It is not illegal to have 2 passports if you are dual citizen.A child who have the CRBA is automatic dual citizen because they are native born of the Philippine to a filipino mother/father and american father/mother.

Those who have to apply for dual citizenhip in order for them to have Phil.passport or acquire Philippine citizenship are for filipinos who have been naturalized here in the US.

So if your son went through the process of CRBA..he is automatically dual citizen..all you need to do is get him a Philippine passport in able for him to hold US and Philippine passport and no need for him to pay for exit clearance at Bureau of Immigration.

  3. Hi,

Your nephew is not eligible for CRBA coz he was born 2008 when his father was still greencard holder. If he was born by the time that his father became US citizen, then he can apply for CRBA in able to transmit the US citizenhip.

U mention that ur nephew Mom's was approved for her IR1 Visa.My question is: they did included ur nephew in the petition? If they did, then ur nephew will get IR2 visa and he will be leaving with his mom at the same time.

  4. Hi guys. My hubby and I are contemplating a Magic Jack for my family here in the PI. We would just like to know if it makes any difference if the internet connection is on DSL but also on WLAN. We are hoping to have a Magic Jack my mom can just plug into her laptop so we can call each other.

Oh and does anybody know of a good and trustworthy place we can get one here in the Philippines? We're hoping to save on cost and effort, so instead of getting it in the US and reshipping it, we want to get one here in the PI.

Thanks for any advice or suggestions you post.

I have magicjack too.You need to buy it here in the US and registered it with US number and then send to ur Mom so she can call you/US,Canada,Puerto Rico for free and unlimited.

  5. Hi Cathy,

My daughter went through CRBA too.

Ako lang nag-attend sa interview coz my fiancee( husband now) is here in the US that time.Don't worry about not getting approval if ur fiancee is not at the interview.

Btw,in-include din nmin sa K1 ang anak ko as a K2.But like the other said,ur child father is a USC so pagdating mo sa K1 interview mo,sasabihin pa din ng consul sayo na ayusin mo CRBA nya bago i-release visa mo.

So what we did is,hindi muna ako nagpa-sched ng interview date ko.Inuna muna nmin ang CRBA.I ordered the forms through calling ACS-FedEx.Then my fiancee was in the Philippines that time so he just brought it with him pagbalik nya dito sa US.He filled it up and notarized.Got all the required documents that was in the check list and sent it to me.Ako nman prepare ko yung iba like my prenatal records, pictures together, our daughter's pics from birth to the time we applied and etc., Then called ACS-FedEx for picked up then after 1 day ACS called me for interview date.

Me and my daughter went there at USEM.She was approved. No DNA,No additional documents.

Tip ko lang sayo is to give them everything in the list.Especially proof ng relationship nyo from the day na nag-met kayo till now and his 5yrs.Physical presence in the US like his tax returns,W2,etc.

Good luck.If you have a question, just PM me or send me message to my YM bluemist20002001.

  6. I have no idea where to post it. So I decided to make a try here. A friend of mine has a question but I don't know what to tell her so with everybody's help here and with the same situation she has I will really appreciate any answers and info you can give me.

She is now in California. She came here for K1 visa and her then fiance (now husband) petitioned her and her two children ages 18 and 10. When the petition has been approved and it's about time for interview.. she didn't bring the children with her in the Philippine Embassy in Manila for money matters. As far as I understood, the problem was financial, from medical interview for two children plus her, then visa fees and fare from PI to USA. SO in other words she left the kids in the Philippines and traveled here alone. She said that the console told her to get the children before the petition expired. Her question is.. what if she can't get the children before it expires? Can she petitioned them again? And if ever she can get them before the petition expires, does the children needs to be interviewed? I have no idea what to tell her. Can anyone please help me here?

    Thanks a lot! It's been a while I haven't post!

    Vida

Hi sis..I read a topic before here just exactly the same.So what she did is,she got her son before the petition expires.

So for your friend,If I were her,I will get the kids now before the petition expires.I'm not sure if her kids need to be interview since they are K2's who are follow-to-join.I think they only need the DS forms, passports,NBI,pay visa fee and medical.Their K2 visa is valid 6months also from the date of their mom's visa so they need to leave before the visa expires.

Another thing, she has 18yrs old kid,so better for her to get them now before the petition expires.Yes she can petition them again but she has to have her kids here in the US especially the 18yrs old before she/he turns 21.Not really sure.I just read it when I did some research.

Please somebody can correct this if I'm wrong.

  7. Hello fellow VJ'ers,

My friend from the Philippines came here in the US on K1 visa last November 12,2009.Unfortunately,she is not getting marry with her fiancee (petitioner) anymore due to relationship problem. They have a daughter who is 9months old and a US citizen through CRBA.My friend arrived here in the US with her baby. Her problem is,her fiancee doesn't want her to go back to Philippines with their daughter. He said she can stay here in US and they can get marry, stay in the house to be with their baby and just treat each other like friends only..The guy (petitioner) has a girl and my friend found it out just lately. She want to go home as soon as possible before her I-94 expires with her baby.

My question is,how can she get the custody to have her daughter go back to the Philippines? Her fiancee told her that she can't leave with her daughter without custody and he even told her before that if they get marry, they have to do the pre-nuptial.

She told me that her fiancee is taking/using drugs. Her fiancee doesn't hurt him or anything but she doesn't want to stay with him anymore. She's in North Georgia (Flintstone) and don't know anybody who can help her.I told her to go to Atlanta to the Immigration,US Embassy or Phil.Consulate, but the Philippine Consulate that covers Georgia is at Washington,DC.

She don't know how to drive yet,no greencard,no license. She don't know what to do anymore.

Btw,her daughter has a Philippine passport too so her baby is dual-citizen.

Please I need some help or information for her.

Thanks for the advance and speedy answers!!!!!!

  8. The question was if she bacame a naturalized U.S. citizen could she renew her Philippines passport ...

The answer is NO ... she is no longer a Philippines citizen ... she is a U.S. citizen and as such is not eligible to hold a Philippines passport ...

However ... if or when she reacquires her Philippines citizenship and becomes a dual citizen ... she can then hold a Philippines passport again ...

Once ur friend become naturalize, she is no longer a filipino citizen and she can't renew her PI passport, unless she will apply for re-acquisition to become dual-citizen.Please check the link below.

  9. Hello again, anyone who can share their experience on this? my husband did'nt yet send our petition 2 months ago, but he has all our papers, like G-325A and 1-130 Forms, and now, he is going to send it by next week, will he do another form for G-325A and 1-130 Forms? with my signature updated and the date signed? and also the 2 x 2 pic, will we still change? since it is 2 months that it is not forwarded yet to the USCIS?

Yes,he need new G325A and I-130 forms updated.the 2x2 pic will be fine.

  10. No you can not travel outside the U.S. before you get married ...

    K-1 is a single entry visa ...

If you leave before you file adjustment of status you will not be able to re-enter the U.S. ...

After you are married you will file for AOS ... and you must also file for Advance Parole before you can leave and re-enter ...

After you get your green card you can leave and re-enter with no restrictions ...

    Right!!!!

  11. I had tried to used coupon code and it works. Then Dec.20th I sent Xmas money for my family and used happyxoomyear and it works but the problem is until now the money is not ready for pick up yet.I been checking my account, calling my bank and Xoom took out the money already but still the money is not available for pick up yet.I been calling them 3 times a day and they are telling me the same thing that the Federal Reserve Bank is processing my eChecking.Idk what the hell they are saying. The money I sent is not on my account anymore. They already took it out so how come they say my payment is still on process????

When I used xoom from 1st,2nd,3rd it was fine and really quick.Just 2mins its available right away.I been using the same checking account. But how come this time is like this?Idk if my recipient can get the money or what. They told me it will take 4 business days for my eChecking to be process and they gave me estimated availability date which will be on Dec.24 5pm Pacific time. That time,Xmas is almost over in the Philippines and idk what are they going to tell me again.

I called them today and yelled at them and told the agent I spoke to that I want to speak with the manager and she said the manager will be available 9AM Pacific Time.Well,I will call back again around that time. She even told me that there is no guarantee that the manager can do something to fix this.I thought I will not have this problem since from 1st to 3rd time using xoom was really fine.

I searched for complaints about xoom and I found a lot just recently (Dec.3,2009) and samething happened to them and their recipient didn't receive the money and the sender didn't get the money back.I just hope that they can fix it so my family can get the money and/or get my money back as soon as possible.

  12. Oh btw,I forgot to mention,Call ACS-FedEx number 02-879-4747 to order the CRBA forms.

The Air21 will deliver the CRBA forms to your door and you have to pay 225pesos if its still the same.

You and ur hubby needs to provide all the requirements listed on their checklist along with the forms and submit it before the 60days from the date of receipt expires.Just call the number again I gave above so they can pick-up the CRBA package of ur son.Don't worry you don't have to pay again for them to pick-up the papers.Delivery of forms,CRBA package pick-up and delivery of US passports and CRBA certificate fees are included to the Php 225.00 you paid.

Also, the CRBA fee is $150.00 if its still the same and you have to pay that at US Embassy during your son's appointment date.Don't include the money on CRBA package. You have to pay it in person.

    P.S.

Make sure you have enough proofs especially when you were together during the baby's conception and a 5yrs. US Physical Presence of your husband before your son was born, like 5yrs Tax returns, pay stubs, school transcripts and etc.,

  13. Hi,I went through CRBA for my daughter and we are here in the US now.

I wanted to share you the coverletter I made when I submitted my daughter's CRBA application.Just follow what I did.All of the proofs and supporting documents we had are listed in the cover letter.

Also,I recommend you to get your child a Philippine passport too so your son will have 2 passports that will make him dual citizen because he is native born of the Philippines so you won't have to pay penalty and/or exit permit.Just show his US and Philippine passport at NAIA on your departure. The Bureau of Immigration told me that, because it was too late for me when I knew about it so I didn't have choiced, paid exit permit for my daughter, they charged me almost Php4,000.So better get your son a Philippine passport so you won't have to pay.Bureau of Immigration charge too much. They just told me to get her a Philippine passport here in the US so next time we visit PI,she can stay as long as she want and can be able to buy properties.
