Thanks all for clearing up things a whole lot. I was getting a little gloomy thinking we might have to wait for the tax return papers before going anywhere further with NVC.
Thanks again
-
Thanks for your quick reply.
My husband was almost jobless from 2005 to mid of 2007, so there are no tax returns of him of 2005 and 2006, but in 2007(from august to december) he earned around 20k and counting that his annual income should be around 40k.
According to USCIS guidelines he should get a joint sponsor because it asks for last 3 years of tax returns, but our lawyer and a lot of people here says that he won't need a joint sponsor.
I think we will go ahead filling the i-864 with w-2 and his pay stubs and employment letter.

We have recently been approved at USCIS and we are looking forward to the NVC process but our biggest obstacle right now is my husband’s tax return papers, which he still hasn’t got it.
My husband did file this year’s tax return as married filing jointly, with my notarized passport and everything (he applied on 9th of April), anyways we weren’t sure if his tax papers got lost or something, but yesterday he got a mail from the state tax (Indiana) stating that addressing me (the beneficiary) which basically said this-->
thank you for submitting your 2007 Indiana individual tax return, our records show you applied for itin with the irs, the department of revenue cant complete the processing your return without the itinSo after getting this mail, its clear that IRS hasn’t lost his papers but they are taking their time to issue the returns.
I know there still is time for AOS part, but what if he still doesn't get his IRS returns by that time. Now my question is, what shall we do? Should my husband go ahead with i-864 with the help of joint sponsor or should he wait for say a month of time to get his IRS return papers?
I do hope my husband will get his tax return papers by the time my interview is scheduled, and may be we can show it that time.
Thanks for your help

I think, once you are about to start this immigration process, most of us are in loss and you are here to learn, the more you read, the more you observe how others case are shaping up, the more you can outline your own case.
And sure there is a wonderful support group here, the world outside this community doesn't really know the pain and the whole process, they think that just because you are married to an American citizen, you can hop on a plane and land to US whenever you wished for, you can't really make them understand about this process, but here its different.
You learn something new every day and basically when everything revolves around this immigration for most of the part of your day today life, at least for the coming 1 year, may be more, may be less, its better to be updated about the process itself.

For immigrant visa applicants, there is NO counter collection of the passport after the interview. That's only for non-immigrant visa applicants.
Ok, this is something which I am still way away from and I am not sure how will I manage NVC stage, but anyways, sinc eyou said there is NO coutner collection for IV visa, I am wondering what will happen to people like me? I come from Port Blair, IF the visa is being granted, can I give out my hotel address for the postal part, and I am also wondering what if things go wrong and I am being put into AP or AR, it will take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months or more to clear that up, I can't stay that long in Chennai if things do happen that way and I will have to go back to Port Blair.
To cut all the confusion, basically I want to know is that, can I change my delivery address anytime I wish for (given how the interview goes) ?
God, I am going to go bald with all this

Did your IRS tax filing accepted and get ITIN already ??? I filed during the first week of March and in 4 weeks, I received ITIN, first week of April, I think. But I requested tax transcripts after couple of weeks from that point.
No, we haven't heard anything yet, not sure if they accepted our ITIN or not. What do you think its the best time to call IRS? I mean which time of the day, all my husband gets are the busy lines, he is Indiana.
Also, later in the stage of NVC, can the benificiary, that's me, can call up their hotline? like getting our NVC case number and other things? As I was reading someone was saying how to 7:30am is the best time to call NVC to get the case number. My husband's work schedual is pretty bad, he leaves for work at 6:30 am and returns back at 5:00--5:30pm, so he hardly get those official hour timings to call.
Thanks lotto for all the help and goodluck with your journey

Don't panic right away, we got our hard copy of NOA-1 after around 19 days.
Best of luck

For 2007 year taxes, we both filed married filing jointly.
Actually my husband too has filed the same and I guess that's why its getting so late for him to get his copy of tax transcripts (for IITN to be generated), he did file on April 9th, and has been trying to call irs hotline to know when he will get his tax transcripts, we hope in a couple of weeks, but lets see.

ok, I got my own answer, was reading irs.gov vigourously and found this F&Q section, http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html
guess my joint sponsor has to fill out form 4506-(t)
will my joint sponsor also need W-2 or just the tax transcripts are all right? also as lotto's guides says, past 6 pay stubs, will it be needed from my joint sponsor too or just my husband's pay stubs are enough?
Also should we get 2 copies of these tax transcripts? one for NVC and again for consulate level?
-
Everything else in the 1-130 packet, does it need to be certified or notorized or can they just be copies?
Can be just copies. You will need certified copies during NVC and originals to submit during consulate proceedings.

Hi you guys,
Can you tell me is there any email address to contact IRS, I did search irs.gov but didn't get any, only phone numbers.
The thing is my husband hasn't yet got his tax transcripts and he has been calling irs every day for the last one week, from around 4:30 pm to 5:30pm adn he hasn't get got the line still, so if there is any email address it would be much easier, also we have to get the last 2 years of tax transcripts of our joint sponsor, he(joint sponsor) does have this year of tax trascript with him.
Or if you guys can tell me what will be the right time to call IRS, my husband can't really call from work but still he can try.
Thanks for any help

Thanks for your comments journeyman.
Actually we have already answered that while filing our i-130 about why we weren't able to file our petition till recently and seriously I am not thinking that just because we got the i-130 approved it won't be any hassle during the interview. Just it was a breath of fresh air for a while.

Yeye,
US embassy/consulates used to give out no objection letters earlier, but they have stopped issuing no objection letters anymore. But what you can do is write out a notarized statement claiming how you are eligible to get married outside of your USA jurisdiction, if you have any prior divorce do make sure to attest those too with your notarized copy.
You can make the notarization copy in USA, at any bank for free or shell out $30 at any of US consulates in India.

Thanks for the heads up S_AL.
We have talked about this issue and looking for every other option possible. But well whatever happens will see, right now I am just excited that at least I will get to see my husband in a few months time.
Crazysamurai,
I really pray that you get your approval next in a couple of days time

Congratulations
And best of luck for the interview

Lol, sorry for that timeline mishap, I was too excited while typing that.

Did you have any touches before your approvel?
Actually the only touch I got was on 9th of June, before going to bed when I checked my petition it was touched for the first time after 14th of March, well, I couldn't really sleep the whole night, thinking I might get an RFE or is it just a random touch, did woke up thinking I might get something but nothing, but then by the time I got to my office and was working as usual got the letter from CRIS, so I would say from the time I got the first touch to approval notification, it was around 14 hours.

Congratulations
Its a good day today
