  1. This looks great lotto,

I have one suggestion, why not include a format for affidavit from friends or families that they are aware of the relationship. We didn't use any because we had other proofs but still others may need it, also at least with Indian consulates they do ask for these affidavits during interview time.

And did you hear anything yet? its going to be 12 noon in anther 2 minutes in India.

Wish your wife all the best

  2. You can go through this link and download the doc file, lotto has put forth a whole list of questions.

And also on a side note, since I see you are from Delhi consulate, so make sure your wife does bring a lot of photos of the wedding, pictures of you both with all the guests, at least 20 guests other than family members, plus receipts of wedding hall, caterer, other vendors, like car rental, flower rental. Also get affidavits from family and friends stating how they know both of your relationship as husband and wife, make sure these are notarized statements.

I am not sure what kind of a wedding you had, if you had a small family wedding then do make sure to write down a notarized statement that you had a small wedding and didn't have many attendance.

Delhi is notorious for asking these kind of proofs.

    Best of luck :)

  3. Let's see,

My blood pressure level is going high these days because of joint sponsorship issue we are dealing right now and I know once that is done and everything has been posted to NVC, I will be calling NVC every day anxiously to hear --CASE COMPLETE

But my real worry is Mumbai consulate, though my husband will be with me hopefully during the interview but with all the weird stories I have heard of Indian consulates, asking wedding pictures, pictures should show 20 guests and none of them can be relatives, I have no idea where I will submit those from, we had only 15 people in our wedding and in which half of them where the Arya samaj officials, then Indian consulates also have been known to ask for family tree from both sides of parents and need to include contact numbers of all the relatives too............again if that is being asked I dont know what I will do, I have no contact what so ever with my mom's side of family after her death and it has been 16 years to that, I can bet even my dad doesn't know all of our near relatives from her side.

Just as VJ troll pointed out, you basically are in the mercy of consulate people in India, so YES I am a nervous wreck right now and will be the same till I get to my interview.

  4. With the form DS-230, where it asks to list all the educational institutes, do I need to include all of it, I mean those part time computer classes or for once upon a time I was in NCC and also Scout and guides........I already have to include an extra sheet of paper to list all of the major degree institutes, but just wondering if I have to include these also.

And also what did you guys do with the coloumn where it asks for what degree/diploma attained? I mean to say what to type there for my primary education or even 12th pass, can type degree with my bachelor's degree only and also with my PG.

    Chintan,

Did your wife get her PCC yet? I have got my PCC from SP but waiting on my passport one and do think it will take another 10 days or moe for the Passport one

  5. I think thats common that you couldn't understand at first, we all go through the same, all the Acronyms, you can start looking through this link for acronyms and definations.

As per DCF, since you are trying to search for a work in Taiwan, so I assume you do have a residential visa there, or any other visa other than tourist visa.

You might want to email Taiwanis embassy and sort out your 4 months away from Taiwan question. Usually you have to be living in any given country for at least 6 months prior to filling DCF (direct consulate filing) in that specific country, but I know for sure in India that is 3 months, so its better to look through US consulate/embassy in Taiwan for the requirement.

  6. Daisychain,

The online payment system is still on Beta stage, they can close it anytime they wish for, that's the reason they (customer representatives) discourage using online payment, though we all are looking for shortcuts, so we do risk that factor.

And I really am not sure why the morning customer care representatives don't give out the IIN, but it has happened to several of VJ posters where they could only get hold of IIN at evening hours, it has been the same with me too, my husband was trying to get the IIN for 2 days and finally got it through a few days ago.

Wish you all the best

  7. You can pay your fee online now and can get the bar code sheet online like that, you don't need to go through James short cut anymore. Just try to get your IIN (invoice identification number) from NVC operator (try calling after 5 pm Est, and tell them you need your IIN for your record, dont mention that you need it for paying online).

Please refer to this forum discussion and download the step by step procedure from Lotto

  8. Shaman goddess,

I do think you are the petitioner, if so, then PCC is required by your husband. Your husband needs to go to near by police station and the passport office where his passport has been issued from, and tell them that he needs Police clearance certificate (PCC).

What you can do, is scan your Approval notification and NVC package (if you have got it by now that is) and let him take those as extra evidence.

I really am not sure how it works in Phillipines but the procedure is more or less easy in India.

And no, its not optional, these are requirements from NVC, so do ask your hubby to prepare those soon, you will have to send PCC with your IV package to NVC along with other documents.
