I finally got a notification today that my card is being produced!!!
There was no update whatsoever after biometrics (the website didn’t even update the my biometrics status) and now it’s finally all done!

Hi Maria, I’m so happy you got your receipt number so fast! That’s awesome! And yeah, you’re probably right about lawyers being a little bit old school with this stuff!
I haven’t heard anything so far, and since I don’t have the receipt number I can’t check the status yet! The suspense is killing me haha. Hopefully I’ll get a letter in the mail soon so I could start tracking the application!
Best of luck to you that everything goes really fast and you will soon get a date for the interview 🤩

I have a friend who also applied online / in June 2022 (FL) / and he got all approved with no issues, no glitches and had oath ceremony in 9 months. I needed lawyer, because I wanted really 'stellar' application (I have a legal complication in my case) , but honestly I feel like I would have done a better job myself and I even caught lawyer's paralegal making 3 mistakes in application 🤦🏻♀️ Don't think its completely wasted money, I did get some advice, but if you have attention to detail and you can read USCIS web -> I believe you totally can get away without lawyer for this... agree

Hi @HelsinkiFi & everybody joining the party...
I also have used the lawyer and she also said something along the line of 'not trusting online filing because of history of unreliability"... although plenty of people file online and don't have any issues (my friend including - already got approved, filed online), I am not sure if lawyers are just a bit of old school / they have some bad experience with online or they have some industry insider info...
Anyway - we mailed the application this week -> it was delivered by FEDEX to USCIS Elgin Lockbox on Wednesday, August 23rd. On Friday (i.e. 2 business days after delivery) - I got a text message "USCIS: Your case was received. RECEIPT # IOExxxxxxxxxx. Official Receipt Notice ( Form I-797C) to follow in mail. Msg & Data rates may apply. DO NOT REPLY". Although it was mailed (paper form application), it appears they have digitalized it (scanned it into the system), based on 'IOE' receipt abbreviation. So I agree with @VJ0617 - 8-9 weeks seems definitely too long. I am still waiting for the mail notice and will give an update when I get it.
Since I got the receipt # in text, I could already go check USCIS online tool -> and on Friday Aug 23 ~ showed "case was received and a receipt notice was sent" and now on Sunday (Aug 27) ~ it shows "case is being actively reviewed by USCIS" . Hope it helps)

That's always a good idea to have a copy of everything. And check before sending to USCIS. My lawyer retired while I waited for I-751 adjudication 😃

@Maria P.
1. Totally a glitch. Check status using https://egov.uscis.gov/
2. No
3. Yes, did you at least submit copy of I-751 receipt?

1) I think it’s just a glitch with the site. It’s happening to me too and I saw other people reporting it here.
2) I read somewhere in the forum that mailed n400 cases are digitized for easier process, hence the IOE case
3) From what I am seeing in the forum, the trend is having a combo interview if you have a pending i751. I see some folks included a letter requesting a combo interview, but they can pull all that with your A number

USCIS will scan it same day when it receives the application. 8-9 weeks is too long, usually USCIS notices arrive in about 10-12 days from the package delivery date. You can find your Receipt/Application Number in those notices. In our case, first notice arrived in 11 days from the date when our package was delivered to the lockbox.

@beloved_dingo @OldUser @JenIE
Received e-copy of the biometrics appointment.
Thank you!

I have requested a e-copy of the mail. I have not received it yet, they have said to wait 24 hours for me to get it in my inbox.
I didn’t knew that I can walk up to the application support center with only case number. I would leave this question to someone to answer, this is indeed a good question.

I've personally never had it take more than 2 additional days either, from when something showed on Informed Delivery (and this has happened maybe 4 times total in 5+ years). I've also had 2 occasions where mail shown never showed up, so certainly understand your concern now that it has been 3 days.

Hey there -
fun fact, VisaJourney, just out of blue, sent me an email with an estimate of my approval... 7 July 2024 😐

An easy way to find people at your Service Center is to go to this timeline filter:
https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/liftlist.php?cfl=0&
You can select the Service Center you are at and then sort by File Date -> Descending which will get you all the most recent filers. You can then follow some around when you filed or else just periodically check this filter and select things like Order By Interview to see how long ago the people filed who are most recently getting interviews!

Just a tip for those of you waiting for a bio metrics wavier or a bio metrics appointment and it has been 30 to 60 days since you have received your NOA try submitting an e-request of Non Delivery of Notice. I had not gotten any word on my bio metrics for over 60 days. I sent in a e-request and low and behold got a reply via email in a few days and the bio metrics wavier a few days after that in the mail. Sometimes this will jog things loose there at USCIS, its worth a shot. Here is the link:

I don’t think you can call to schedule biometrics. Also, in most cases they are waived (if you had it done for AOS).
I’ve seen folks walking in for biometrics, some are successful and some are not. But for that you’ll need a hard copy of a NOA.
Potomac seems to be the slowest service center. My case is there and no word about biometrics so far.
I would just focus on getting that NOA/extension letter in hands - with that you can breathe for 24 months.

Did this yesterday, exactly 30 days after filing.
I'll try and call tomorrow to figure things out, I was also wondering if I should call the local office and schedule the biometrics with them immediately.

Hey all,
Still haven't received a notice letter...
08/08/2022 – FEDEX notified us of delivery at lockbox
08/11/2022 – received text notification with Case number YSCxxxx - Potomac...
08/12/2022 – Payment check for I-751 cashed according to our bank
what should we do .. my wife is a flight attendant and needs that extension letter to keep travelling in and out of the US for her job...
We also asked that they change her name at same time as removal of conditions. maybe that's the delay?

The immigration really is full of anxiety and frustration. But we also have that unique grit and determination that keeps us going.
Be easy on yourself, think that now you are with your loved one (if your case is marriage or family based) and you are able to work and travel. You are still a legal permanent resident and that extension letter is proof of that for two years. The extension letter definitely gave me peace of mind!
About the Case Status: it does not update when the NOA receipt is sent. It only updates for fingerprints, RFE sent/RFE received, interview ready/interview scheduled, case approved/card produced.

Maria P. reacted to JenIE in I-751 August 2022 Filers (Merged)
I'm not at Potomac but that all sounds frustrating and I hope your case has some movement. I wanted to say though that my online account also only says Case was Received even though I got the NOA and have a biometrics appointment this coming week. So don't despair on that account!
-
Maria P. reacted to stephbd in I-751 August 2022 Filers (Merged)
My case is in Potomac, no updates so far! Case received on Aug 9.
My AOS case was processed at NBC and I recall biometrics notice about a month after case being received. There were a few ROC August filers with biometrics waived already, I guess they might all be in NBC…
-
Maria P. reacted to JenIE in I-751 August 2022 Filers (Merged)
Definitely not too early, we mailed our packet on August 8 and on August 19 they sent us a biometrics appointment letter. Though we have NBC, not Potomac.

@Maria P. I think it's too early. Usually it takes months to receive bio appointment or have it waived.

Fellas, I have an update -> got my NOA letter(24 month extension) in the mailbox yesterday!
So my up to date ROC timeline is:
08/05 - sent package via USPS to Elgin PO Box (Carol Stream, IL)
08/08 - package delivered
08/11 - got a text message around 5 pm, with receipt number (no email)
08/18 - got a mail/I-797 NOA, "Receipt Notice" that states application received date: 08/08, notice date 08/11
P.S. My receipt number starts with YSC 🥴 , i.e. Potomac Service Center.... unfortunately
